Got my CBG 4 weeks ago, thanks to you i can play- baby please don't go - wish you were here- crossroads - and other song i just make up.. but having the best fun in my life with this .I'm 69 wish i did this early .. never played
Thank you so much for uploading this . Yesterday a bought a six string electric and converted it to a 3 string to see if I could play it .I damaged my fingers in an accident two years ago so I have 2 and a half that work good and the others kinds work so a 3 string is good for me . I will build a cigar box guitar now that I know I can play 3 strings . I am currently learning crossroads on the harmonica so this is perfect for me ....cheers 😊👍
Been working along with you on this one. Super fun to play on my first CBG built through a nice little Pignose amp. You've got me looking at that lace pickup for a future build. Thank you so much for these lessons!
Uncle Mark, I put in a request for Kansas, carry on my wayward son... Maybe in a year or two i'll try figuring it out for myself... but if you find yourself bored....
Mark love your lessons fella, I’m 70 yrs old, used to play 6 string blues but strokes put an end to that, can’t hold a chord together now, but came across cbg a while back and can now play basic blues stuff and improvise some what over mostly open G stuff. Now to my question, Mark I am using a Roland micro cube for amplification but would like to get your sounds, I know you use same amp at times, do you use anything between your cbg and cube. Thanks again fella. Jim
love the sound you get and the "pick attack" and string embellishments make the sound. However you MUST start with THE RIGHT NOTES. You spend 20 seconds of the 11 minute video barely talking about what are the actual NOTES of the break ( 3:00 - 3:20 ). I can see you are pulling off the 2nd string 3rd fret but are you ringing the open 2nd string??? After replaying this 20 seconds I think the pattern is: open, 3rd string, open, 1st string, 3rd fret, 2nd string open , 1st string --- repeat last two notes a few times. is that correct?
@@unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson but wait, in the begining of the video (0:37) it looks like as some point you play the 3rd fret third string? what is the actual progression?
Just came across this vid so, late to party! Jonathan! Progression sounds like to me! Open low G string Open high G string Fretted up strike D string Down strike high G string Fretted down strike D string Down strike fretted low G string Repeat sequence from the beginning!
