    I love the Turners' love story and think it's so inspiring that Shelagh didn't lose all her faith just because she decided not to be a nun anymore. She is still the same loving and kind person, but just living out her true calling now. I also love to see how their family grows and expands and goes through challenges.

    This show has turned on the tears many many times. The episode where the man who accepts the baby, who obviously isn't his because the baby is black. That had me crying the hardest. The other time it had me really crying is when the young man at the home for disabled and abandoned children talks about the cookie factory nearby and how they were given the broken ones. The double meaning in that statement heartbreaking and sweet at the same time.

    There are so many "MOMENTS" in this show - my most emotional one is the 1st Christmas ... when Jenny takes the elderly "former workhouse resident" (Mrs. JENKINS) to the churchyard - to visit her children's graves. Children she had not known there "whereabout for 50 years. It filled the woman's heart, gave her some sense of peace - & certainly filled my heart, too.

    I enjoyed the episode where Trixie delivers a baby to a girl on a Swedish ship whose father, the ship's captain, had used his daughter as a prostitute to keep his crew happy! The birth of a baby girl gave the lass her freedom and love and she declared that she would leave the ship and bring up the baby where they could walk on green grass.

    • @wickedwitchoftheeast88
      @wickedwitchoftheeast88 3 года назад +19

      As good as that was that story is sadder than the show portrayed it. In the book the Captain her father was also having sex with her and it was Chummy who delivered the baby without assistance and when Sister Juliene went back later that morning to check on mother and baby the ship had left the docks because women weren't allowed on the docks and ships it was illegal and an arrestable offence the Captain could have also been kicked out of the service for sexually exploiting his daughter and bringing her aboard the ship.

    One of my favourite moments is when Mrs Turner makes her way out into the world out of the habit and Dr Turner and Timothy spot her. Another one was Sister Bernadette fixing Dr Turner’s coat. Gosh there really are uncountable best moments, a glorious 12 seasons is not enough. One of the first few episodes where a Spanish woman with over a dozen kids, hits her head and almost loses her baby made me go through the motions. Their method of nursing the baby back to health was so beautiful and just showed what family love can do. Chummy prevailing through a difficult childbirth was a real highlight too. Another comes to mind where a mother of 5 who was forced to give up her child years ago, reconnects with him introducing the rest of the family to him. He had a rough life and never felt wanted but when the mum said I think there’s an iced bun missing that made me teary eyed.

    The carousel moment was the most beautiful. It looked like a snow globe scene come to life.
    Of course, that made it all the more devastating when Barbara died. I was crushed.
    Not too long after, I stopped watching CtM, simply because its stories caught up to my era and I had no interest in reliving that.
