Obviously it’s not every American Muslim but when you have this pumped into the heads of young Muslims (from school, social media, etc…) and they lack the proper Islamic knowledge then it’s easy for things that idolization, feminism, etc… to slip into the Muslim communities here (not all alhamdulillah).
Then i clear the whole Pakistan from all sorts of disbelief(shirk), and then i tell the people that Allah and Muhammad s.a.w have shown me the right path through dreams so you all should follow that path. I generally love your lectures and classes but I wish you would stop rolling the word "feminism " as a blanket statement negatively. You have muslim men calling any Muslim woman with an opposite opinion, personal goals, self esteem, or unwilling to stay in oppressive marriages as feminists. There are definitely ALOT of women, not as many muslim sisters as you guys throw out there, that are extreme. Yes. But there are alot of oppressive, lazy, controlling, ridiculous muslim men out there that have made it where women have to have something for themselves or be victims. You speak of haraam relationships. And you are completely right. However, what about the muslim men that do the same to their wife after she accepted a very very very small dowry after being bullied that "feminism " is what made her ask for an amount that could actually support her? Could you possibly show more balance in your explanation? JazAllah
