The reason why I leave the holes uncover is so that more mushrooms will grow. Leaving the holes open lets the spores escape and spread throughout the mountains. The wind play a big part of spreading spores. Me not covering the holes doesn't hurt it. It actually helps with the population the holes will cover itself from the rain. Thank you for your input I appreciated your comments
