@Maddiedoggie the U.S. allowed for all amber turn signal, Ford just decided it would be cool for the Mustang taillight to have sequential turn signal, so when you have the right turn signal, it would replace the right taillight and brake light as a turn signal, but the turn signal still light up red... In the E.U. you're required to have amber turn signal. So the outside bar act as turn signal and the inside two bar act as brake and taillight, the reason why Ford made it clear is so it doesn't look weird. It would be weird to have the inside two bar being red and one outside bar being amber...

The stock configuration of that car is fast because the Thunderbird originally was intended to be the direct competitor to the Corvette and Jag E-Type. But when the Mustang released in 1965, it shifted focus to be a 'Personal Luxury' vehicle. While it stayed on that path, it started sharing the same frame and configurations as the Mustang of the late 70s. It never deviated until its death in 1997. Mustang II and Thunderbird were the same vehicle as a different luxury trim package of the Mustang II. You eventually could put the early 80s Mustang next to the Thunderbird and the only indications were the lights and trim, and occasional body line changes. That stayed true until 1997 when the T-Bird was stopped. The 1996/1997 Thunderbird are the SAME vehicle as the 1995 Mustang. The Mustang refreshed in 1996, but the Bird was not, showing that Ford intended to stop production. It's also the same thing as a 2 Door Ford Taurus with a V8 Option. The front fenders on the 1996/1997 Thunderbird are nearly identical in design to the 1992-1995 Taurus, as are the rest of the styling cues from tip to tail. The only real exception at any point was that the Thunderbird had a very unique trim that even the Mustang envied: The SuperCoupe, and in other iterations, the TurboCoupe. Each one had forced induction, either a Supercharger (SUPER Coupe) or a Turbo Charger (TURBO Coupe). yes I'm fully aware of the RetroBird model from 2002-2005, but I don't directly consider it a Thunderbird for the fact it was only ever going to be a limited run of 1 generation, not a true production series. I personally had a Twilight Bird (1996/1997) for a short while and LOVED it. It was hit by a van and insurance totaled it because no body panels could be found for 500 miles. It also had the worst fading on the paint and both bumpers were torn, along with interior damage. If I could have had the money and resources, I'd have restored it, but that would have cost nearly 20 grand to do. Not worth it on a car worth $2400. I took that insurance money and bought a 2004 Ford Focus Estate. 5 and a half years later and i still have that car and would not give it up until you torch it.

0:39 back then it was very common for American car manufacturers to make new cars every year or two, unlike in Europe where a generation of car could last decades.
The turbine car engine was not a failure at all. What happened what Chrysler ended up taking a government contract to work on the vehicles after a very dedicated group of engineers took to creating the car as a passion project. It was fuel efficient, easy to drive, practical, and overall an outstanding success to everyone who managed to get their hands on one for a brief testing period. Chrysler Execs were then offered a contract and the team went into developing the engine further under the premise that it was for a mass production vehicle. Then at the end of it the engine they designed which was clean and could run on almost any fuel was put into the M1 Abrams tank and the project was scrapped. All cars were recalled and destroyed par for a few of which were saved in museums. All documents detailing the project were also burned. These cars are now irreparable due to this loss of information on the turbine regenerators which are what made the vehicle practical. They were something good and we lost it.
The Nascar config is pretty legit to 60s cars, on average they had 4 speeds but the insane amount of power meant that they could go 200MPH in 4th, where modern cars struggle for those kind of speeds in 8 and 10 speed transmissions, like the Dodge Daytona/Bugatti meme, I think it was something along the lines of the Bugatti saying it can do 200mph in 12th gear, and the Daytona replying "that's cute, I only need 4 gears to go that fast"
