I used to eat subway for lunch most work days, then I got food poisoning so I took a break. When I came back ,it happened again and again, and I haven't been back since.
Not true about the diced chicken. I only worked at a Subway for 3 months, but the diced chicken comes in pre-cooked and already diced.... It just gets heated in the toaster with the bread and cheese.
I worked at a Subway back in 94. The chicken was processed and came in frozen patties. I do think their meatball subs are excellent and their tuna subs are pretty good. Need to bring back the seafood subs. They were good as well. I just never liked the way they skimp on meats.
Subway was my 1st job when I was 16 in the 90s. They're cookies have ALWAYS been frozen. Seriously. And the bread has ALWAYS come in the frozen logs that have to "proof/rise" in the "proofer." Whatever. Their rib patties were the same as McD's McRib. They just sat in BBQ sauce all day like the meatballs with the marinara. The only expensive item my boss cared about were the black olives. She called them "black gold." I can't eat there now. It makes me sick. There is also smell that attaches to your clothes and hair.
They shouldn’t use hot water. I worked at subway and what seems like every other restaurant and only cold water should be used because hot or warm water accelerates bacteria growth.
I once had a job looking after a man with mental health issues. He would only eat lunch at subway. I eventually persuaded him to go to different places. Anyway it kinda put me off subway for life. I’m glad now. The man in question actually died of hepatitis. Just saying.
A lot of this is totally untrue. Anyone defrosting chicken in hot water would be (and should be) instantly sacked. That is not a normal thing. The bread doughs have always been frozen. Do you really expect minimum wage workers to be fully trained bakers that can process that much bread a day with teams of like three or four people maximum? Not happening. The sugar content is actually not that high, all bread contains sugar to get the yeast to react to actually make the doughs rise, the sugar helps make them soft. The tuna is skipjack tuna with mayonnaise. You asked for tuna mayo, then complain it has mayo in the tuna. That's kind of dumb. Never ever encountered a rodent in a subway in fourteen years. Those white cutting boards are meant to be deep cleaned every night and spot cleaned every hour. That's subways policy, always has been. This is just a hit piece and it's not appreciated. People work hard in these stores, just to have a wannabe know it all try to undo our hard work based on no evidence whatsoever, isn't very nice. I've worked for all the fastfood giants. Subway is the best one, it's the only one I actually buy with my own cash. For a good reason.
@@BabbleTop my day is great, I just think this video is not. Just my opinion of course, and I am biased because I loved working at subway and put a lot of pride into my work, and I know countless other team members that did their best too. If you really want a fast food scandal, look into KFC gravy and it's MSG content. Also look into hygiene standards in the 'fancy' restaurants, they are often the worst offenders in my experience. I've worked in food for almost 2 decades, I've been a butcher, baker, chef, fast food worker and manager. I know my stuff on this, subway is honestly one of the best for high standards of food safety and quality. They have one of the strictest audit systems in the business.
Speaking of that "smell" - every day I worked at Subway when I was 16-17 I remember leaving and that smell all over my clothes. I could smell it from the time I left to I got home. Everyone always says the same...

#11 My ex and I went to Subway once and a girl that had a crush on me in High School actually worked (unknown to me) there making our subs that night. I ended up with the one who made our sandwiches years later. #NotAwkward
@@BabbleTop In general I avoid chain food as much a possible. In terms of subs, Jersey Mike's or Firehouse are much better quality (at least for that type of food).
Really? I used to work at Subway. They use old mop strings to mix with the tuna. The cookies are where we stored the extra mouse droppings we couldn't use as bread topping. Oh and don't ask where the sewer drain drains. Really. Please don't use every "a former employee said" comment you find. Please don't be as gullible as this.

There are thousands of stores. It could be that the pre-diced stuff is not used at many other locations.
The only thing worse than finding a mouse in your sandwich is finding half a mouse. 🤮
