Fun fact... the reason this film has so many ties to real dream symbolism, and actual dream psychology, is because Christopher Nolan studied actual dream psychology to write it. He also spent 10 years researching Lucid Dreaming, and would plan sequences for the film his head _WHILE LUCID DREAMING_ (then write them down later when he woke up).
Great video. Around 20 minutes you misunderstand why they can't wake up from the dream: they are too heavily sedated, meaning they are too drugged, and cannot physically wake up. So when they die in the dream, they can't wake up, their brain is unable to, so they go to the deepest dream level possible: limbo.
Don't worry, the top was actually gonna stop spinning, it has been confirmed that the last scene was actually the reality.
You should definitely react to Rush hour 1,2 and 3 starring Jackie Chan and Chris tucker. You will absolutely enjoy every minute of them. Lots of laugh and action
They can't wake up not because there isn't anyone to wake them up, remember they have a flight attendant, the actual reason they wont wake yp upon dying in the dream is that they are too heavily sedated, they are not typically sleeping but unconcious.
The spinning top is irrelevant because it's not Cobb's totem..his wedding ring is. He only wears it in dreams and he isn't wearing it at the end.
Hi. No idea why your video got recommended to me but just watched it. Loved your reaction. If this messed with your head then I dare you to watch Nolan's Interstellar and Nolan's Tenet. His films have to be watched on the big screen to be fully appreciated. I remember walking out of Inception and paying for another ticket and walking back to my seat.
How do you know the totem was about to fall? Are you certain? I watched it the second time assuming it did not fall.....
I saw it in theaters a bunch of times. Every theater lost their minds at the cut to black at the end.
That being said, it is starting to wobble, and in the dreams it does not wobble at all, so it's going to fall. I think the metaphorical point of the totem spinning at the end and cutting to black before it falls or not-is that we don't even know what reality is, or whether what we are experiencing when we are awake is reality or not. It's a deeply powerful ending, even if someone only registers the ending through their subconscious.
