Nice collaborative hike! We will check out Katy's channel. Oh yeah, we'll see you flying a drone soon! The clouds lifted nicely, to reveal spectacular views. Awesome hike together!
Awesome! Thank you and that's real good of you, I know I got a bit of help when my channel started, so nice to be able to help someone else too. Thanks very much for stopping by guys, cheers Alan
No problem and thank you for watching. I did the same hike a few years back and the views were stunning and we were supposed to get the same weather but we hot pea soup instead lol. I still had a great day and some great views later so not complaining. Cheers Alan
That's awesome that you're helping Katy grow her channel! It looks like she has some really cool filming gear like the fancy gimbal for her phone and the Drone. Unfortunately you didn't have the clearest of days on this one but you did have some great company at least. Thanks for sharing another UK hiking adventure with all of us.
That mist seems to be following me Eric, we were promised 3 sunny and clear summits and never saw the sun once lol. Next 3 hikes the same but hey ho, things can only get better. I hope Katy's channel does take off, she is a real nice lass and great fun to be out with too, cheers Alan
Did this today, from Honister. Your right that was a Canny Pull up to Dale Head. Headed to Robinson and missed the turn and ended up Hindscarth. Then headed to Robinson which was great. Then back down and up to Dale Head. That climb back up was hard. The humidity today was crazy! Barely a breeze and very cloudy no sun to be seen. Overall really good day and thank you for the map.
Sorry it has taken so long to respond but just back from holiday late last night. Oh nice one, I really enjoy that hike but yet to do it in perfect conditions but it was nice to have real nice company with me. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Thank you so much for watching and commenting, real nice of you. It was such a nice day walking with Katy, real good company and a real canny Lass too. Take care, cheers Alan
That's real nice of to stop by and when we got the views, they were great but man, when the mist came down it was like pea soup lol. Take care and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Haha, yes, plenty of glamour but definitely none from me lol. Despite the misty conditions, we had a really good day and a lot of fun. Thanks very much for watching and enjoy the rest of the weekend, cheers Alan
Great greatfull for that, especially as it was forecasted to be clear and sunny on all three summits. Still had a fun day and great company, so I am not complaining. Appreciate you stopping by and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Another great walk Alan. So glad the cloud lifted enough to get the stunning views from Dale Head. I'll drop in and have a look at Katie's channel too. Hope you're enjoying yourself up in Scotland. Have a great time. Cheers David
We had a brilliant time David but had to cut it short by 2 days, which Mrs MM came down with a cold. To be safe we drove home in the middle of the night and man that was a long drive in the dark. On the mend now mind. Thanks for watching, cheers Alan
It's a great walk and one I have enjoyed several times over the years but never got the weather quite right for it but a great excuse to go back again I suppose. Thanks very much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, real good of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching Des and funny enough the forcast said full sun, all day, on all three summits lol. Good that it lifted a bit and fortunate I had good company but I never fully trust that mountain forecast. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, cheers Alan
Wow Alan, you're really getting after it lately. First couple months we were watching you it seemed like country walks and a few hills. Last couple weeks you're doing some serious peak bagging. If you up your game much more, you're going to have to start wearing one of those plastic hats on your adventures. Good of you to go about watering the wildflowers. We all need to do our part to help preserve nature. 👍 Got a bit better weather this time than last time with the wind. Overcast gets some hikers sad, but as far as we're concerned, it means you get to walk in the shade. The views were still solid, nay? Awesome hike Alan, we'll be sure to go give Katy a view!
That's really nice of you and I always appreciate you watching. Funny enough, the forcast was supposed to be clear and sunny all day but as soon as we started walking it was like pea soup lol. Take care all and enjoy weekend, cheers Alan
When the mist rolled in the temperature dropped but the sun was trying its hardest to shine through. No matter, we still had a real fun day, which what really matters. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Despite the mist, it was still a great day out and a real fun day too. Thanks very much for watching, take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend, cheers Alan
another great adventure Alan thanks for sharing with us, breathtaking scenery, like 84 with a full 11:38 minute view and full ad as always, Watching From France 🇫🇷 ✝️🙏🌸Naomi🌸🙏✝️
Cool collaboration Alan. It is great to see new channels sharing their journeys. I'll check her channel out. Looks like the views are all socked in on this hike but it sure does make for a nice cool hiking temperature. That picture at 4:58 is awesome. The clouds lifted a bit to give you some views. Plus it was nice to see some of your previous footage in there too. Nice hike to spend the day with. Take care.
Thanks for watching Steve and I really enjoyed this hike with Katy, who was really nice and despite the misty conditions, it was still a real fun day. I got a couple of people help my when I first started my channel, so it is nice to help someone new get their channel off the ground, cheers Alan
Nice one guys 👍 It's a cracking hill Dale Head. One of the very few walks I've done in the Lakes. Up the Honister Pass Slate Mine & doon the Cat Bells ridge.
I hope you got better weather than us Kevin lol, you are right mind, it's a great walk and at least we were warm and dry, so not complaining. Thanks very much for watching and taking the time to comment, very much appreciated. Enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Its a relatively short trek up to Dale head but very steep(I think).......very eerie feel to that summit Alan. Love that walk to Hindscarth.....all downhill lol(but you then have to come back)......bit of another pull up to Robinson, I quite like those 'misty' conditions they make for atmospheric shots. Crikey Alan no pressure getting that drone back safely then ha,ha.......lovely views down the Newlands valley mind.............and again off Dale-head, great stuff Alan and good company............ATB........Stu/Wendy.....👍👌😊
I was sweating with that drone under my control incase I crashed it lol. I love the misty conditions but we were forcasted full sun and 3 clear summits, so unsure what happened there. Thanks very much for watching and enjoy the rest of the weekend, cheers Alan
Hello to you both 👋 it’s always nice to have a hiking buddy. Beautiful images of the clouds moving over the landscape despite poor visibility at times. Drones do capture some amazing footage but could be pricey. Buttermere is a beautiful location too. Great vid. 😎
Yes, it was a fun day and funny how you can be chatting away and then, all of a sudden, 'Oh, we are at the top' lol. I love Buttermere, so many great Hikes and options there, low and high. Real nice of you to watch and comment Rachel, I always appreciate it. Enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Nice going Alan, I took the same route when I camped on Robinson. Glad it cleared for you both as the views are something else in that area! Good luck to Katy and her challenge, Oh to be young again! Lol!
Too true Anthony but a good day out, despite the weather, which was not forcasted, we were supposed to be getting sun and 3 clear summits lol. Thanks very much for watching and enjoy the rest of the weekend, cheers Alan
So the bells fell off lol! Maybe had to much for dinner and feel alseep, so sorry will check this out once we have woken up a bit more, catch you soon! Ceri and Kat 🤭👍🛎😴😴☕
Yep, I cocked that right up lol! I set a Schedule but not a Premier, so I was sat there like a lemon wondering where the chat box was (slaps forehead), must have been a senior moment lol! Enjoy the weekend both, cheers Alan
Another awesome hike in the Lakes. I think you enjoy company!! Glad the clouds did clear and you both got some great shots. A complete Newlands Round in one hike would be worth doing sometime. All the best for Ben Nevis and your Scotland trip. Regards Ashley
Thanks very much for watching Ashley and if you have good company, no matter what the weather, I will always enjoy the day. I have my fingers crossed for Ben Nevis, as its pointless going up in bad weather, especially as I have done it before, looking 50/50 at the moment. I hope you are getting some great Hikes in and thanks for watching, cheers Alan
With or without the fog, it is absolutely beautiful! Definitely good to hike with good company! Glad you didnt crash the drone lol, I would have managed to. Lol, best do both peaks for sure. Sweet hike, thanks for sharing as always!! - Shane
Thanks for watching Shane and great company to be sure but man, I was a bit nervous flying that drone, Katy said "you cannot crash it", I thought, you sure about that lol! Enjoy the weekend and keep on taking that Vitamin D, cheers Alan
Hi Alan every hike in the lakes is special and the mist certainly adds to the views, nice you helping another youtuber on there way and should add to her subscribers, pleased you didnt crash the drone lol, great vid and thanks for taking us all along cheers nigel
Haha, I was a bit worried about that too Nigel,, expensive crash that would have been lol. You are right, never mind the weather, its the Lakes and we did get some views, so not complaining. Thanks for watching buddy and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Thanks very much for watching and that's good of you to check out her channel. Always hard to get a new channel off the ground and I remember getting help with mine when I first started so nice to be able to help someone else. Enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
That's good of you Kaat and although I like a misty day myself but the forcast was for full sun and 3 clear summits, so caught us a bit by surprise. Thanks very much for watching and enjoy the rest of the weekend, cheers Alan
Excellent video. I think the lakes look best with dramatic weather, I would love to be there on a day like that to make time lapses. Nice to see you enjoying the drone, I'm also thinking of getting one but means lugging more gear around up steep hills 😁 thanks for sharing have a great week 👍👍👍
You and me both and to be honest, I was surprised at how lightweight it was, so really sparked my interest. Real good of you to watch, take care and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Nice collaboration Alan! Will definitely check her channel too. That’s a great hike, at least you have good company there to chat with. You made it again to the Robinson. The pile of stones is really the best photo spot. That’s nice eventually everything cleared up and you got the best views you want. Happy weekend!
Thanks so much for watching and the weather may have not been the best but the company was top notch, so I really enjoyed the day. Take care and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Nice one Al, I have done in nice weather too and the views are stunning, so a tad dissaponted this time, especially as the forcast was clear and sunny all day lol. At least I had great company, so not complaining. Thanks very much for watching and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Oh goodness, Alan, such a gorgeous view from up there! How cool - such a great collaboration with Katy Fox! I subscribed to her channel and gave some support! :)
That's real nice of you and I appreciate you watching our collaboration video too. It's always difficult to get a new channel off the ground and I remember getting help when I first started, so nice to give some back. Enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Haha, nice one Lee! We ended up lucky with the weather as in the first 30 minutes we could hardly see each other, never mind anything else lol. Appreciate you watching, cheers Alan
Many thanks! We were hoping for better as the forecast said sun al day and three clear summits but we still had a great days out. Thanks very much for watching and taking the time to comment, cheers Alan
Nice video. I am regularly using your lakes vids as a scouting mission these days. Doing this walk on Tuesday :) Your efforts greatly appreciated Alan.
Nice one John and I hope you have the weather that we were supposed to have had lol. I parked at the Slate Mine and its £5 all day but free if you are a customer, so I always pop in afterwards, buy something and use the facilities. There is also a National Trust car park there if you are a member. Thanks for watching John, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Late reply. I did go, had great weather and an encounter with Tom Cruise. Landed a chopper on Robinson and went off with a hanglider. There was still a windsock on top when I got there. Then, he arrived in a wagon at Honister with a film crew, did a u turn and gave us all a wave. Day to remember. He's only little too!
Another wonderful video Alan! Looks like you had a brilliant day despite the disappointing weather forecast, typical lakes😄. How quickly the time goes with a good old chat on the hills hey! We will certainly check out Katies channel and subscribe. Love that you collaborate with the you tube community🥰. Take care and have a lovely weekend. Shell and Pete
Thanks so much for watching and real good of you to check Katy's channel, I had a few people help me out at the start, so nice to be able to return the favour. Funny how you are hatting away and all of a sudden, you are at the top, despite the mist we had a brilliant day. Enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, lovely video, glad the cloud lifted for you, great views. Went up the other side of the mine a few weeks ago but the views you got on your walk look fantastic. Have seen your windy version, very funny but clear skies so fab views, you did great. Very good of you for promoting a new youtuber, just watched a couple already. Think you maybe investing in a drone. Really looking forward to your Ben Nevis video. Take care pal
Thanks for your kind words Steve and always appreciate you watching, I have done Ben Nevis 3 times before so will need decent weather to do it again, 50/50 at the moment, Monday looks the best possibility at the moment, after that it's pants. Enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN you too Alan, fingers crossed for Monday, will certainly look forward to the video as usual. Favorite youtuber on the lakes by far. Take care
Alan Amazing views beautiful country your videos are always a joy to watch. We have a drone don't use it much. Will check out her channel. Stay safe my brother. Cheers Mike
Thanks Mike, that's good of you buddy. I have been looking at drones for ages and real impressed with this one,,so who knows. Take care Mike and thanks for stopping by, cheers Alan
That's real good of you and a real nice lass and we all need a bit of a helping hand at the start, I sure got it, so pleased to help someone else. Have a great weekend and I appreciate you watching, cheers Alan
1:08 HI KATY !!!!! .... 4:00 That mist look's as thick as smoke ...... 7:15 These MUST be a volcano nearby somewhere ....... 10:13 Now THAT'S a colorful view ...... Your shirt ...... 11:01 No .... no ..... Thank ..... YOU !!!!!!
Funny thing was, the forcast said we would get full sun all day, as soon as we started walking it was like pea soup lol. The camera and software really lights it up but man it was real misy at times and we could not see the path. Still, good company and a fun day, so I am not complaining. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
Watched this last night with hubby, his also a big fan of yours,i so love mist, add some rain and i am in heaven.you really should get a drone,i have a couple, the one katy has ,i have and i would recommend it,i think a drone would add lots to your videos alan.anyway waffleing alan ,you and mrs m have a lovely weekend and stay safe debs.
Thanks Debs and I have been looking at drones for ages humming and haring but I did really enjoy Katys drone, it was good fun. I only film in 2K and 'I think' this drone films in 4K (I could be wrong), so would not want to mix the footage. I will have to wait and see what Santa brings lol. Thanks very much for watching, take care and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Alan 4k is the future=1 blueray disk =hd,4k is 4 times that,i think i paid £50 for a year for wevideo, that lets you upload in 4k,add 4k drone and in my eyes the best gopro hero 8 and your sorted, sorry waffleing alan. stay safe debs.
You like your fog there don't you! Geez, letting you fly that drone - better hers than mine! :p Looks like you did well though. Glad to say those views opened up a bit for you. Great to have some new company on this trail.
Yes it was and I really enjoyed it. I was surprised when she handed the controls over to me, especially as I have never flown a drone before but thankfully I did not crash it lol. Thanks very much for stopping by, cheers Alan
Great tour, Alan! I learned from another RUclipsr in Scotland that you call it ‘hillwalking’ over there in the UK vs. ‘hiking’ and after watching several of your videos, I fully understand it now 😊I believe I would enjoy that outing in the mist or full sunshine..as I like to watch the fog roll through the hills like some people enjoy watching the surf come upon the shore. The cairns are such a beauty- do the hikers build them? Each placing a stone in ? Or are they originally created by a government authority? Best wishes on your goals, Katy! I will check out your channel ❤️
That's nice of you and Katy was great company all day. There are some official trip marked build to highlight areas but a lot are made and added to by hikers / fell walkers and I always add a stone to the top too. Thank you so much for watching, cheers Alan
Nice one Alan , good to be out with another YT er . The views eventually opened up nicely , I need to try it from that way as I come up from Newlands side last time . Santa might bring you are new drone lol atb Dave
Now that would be nice Dave lol. Dale Head is a bit like Hallin Fell, straight up and steep (bit longer to be fair) but real easy from the slate mine and a good car park there too. Thanks very much for watching Dave, cheers Alan
@@BorderRambler - It's £5 all day and a bit more for an overnight but customers are free, so I always park and then go in and buy something, so do not pay the parking, as I am a customer. They are open early doors for bait and hot drinks too.
Thanks very much for watching Dave and a real fun day out, shame we missed out on the incredible views up there, despite it being forecasted full sun all day on all 3 summits. Real nice of you to leave a comment, appreciate it, cheers Alan
Glad to see you got a great day hiking with Katy! I'm glad to see, the clouds cleared and you got to see those amazing views. So, did Katy make you want to buy a drone? :)
Thanks for watching, real good of you and yes, I really want to get one, although Mrs Metalman keeps telling me I do not need one - watch this space lol! Cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Hehe, just like my husband, who also told me I don’t need one, before I bought it. He was quite right as I really don’t fly it enough. 🙉🙈

Great vidz my friend
Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment, very much appreciated, cheers Alan
I'll check out your friends channel! 😁 Fog always adds a bit of mystery... But when you're up, it's fun to have a view! As you did! All the best! Kaat
Awesome my friend big like 👍
Thanks for the visit John, real good of you my friend, always appreciate it, Have a great weekend, cheers Alan
Love it buddy Fantastic upload as always from you mate
Thanks very much, real good of you to watch and comment, really appreciate it, cheers Alan
Another nice video Alan. I did this walk a few months ago and was lucky to have great weather the whole time :-)
Nice one Al, I have done in nice weather too and the views are stunning, so a tad dissaponted this time, especially as the forcast was clear and sunny all day lol. At least I had great company, so not complaining. Thanks very much for watching and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
beautiful view
take care
Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment, very nice of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN And its great of you to be so supportive to others trying to get their channel going. I know it is not easy! :)
Beautiful, Alan. The scenery on the walk is ok too 🤣🤣🤣
Haha, nice one Lee! We ended up lucky with the weather as in the first 30 minutes we could hardly see each other, never mind anything else lol. Appreciate you watching, cheers Alan
wow...Stunning views Alan!
Stumbled upon your channel! Glad I did ;-)
Awesome! Thank you! Cheers Alan
Awesome Alan still got a few of them to do il give her sub 👍 tanks bryan 👍
That's good of you Bry and it's nice to help out someone who is just starting out. Appreciate you watching buddy, cheers Alan
Take care
@@stevebuttery6757 - Cheers Steve :o)
Alan mate that was mint and I've gave Katy a sub, i think her channel will be flying soon 😀 all the best Chris 👍
Aye, flying passed mine nee problem lol. Thanks very much for watching Chris, appreciate it buddy, cheers Alan
Nice hike and I'll give Katy a sub
That's real good of you and a real nice lass and we all need a bit of a helping hand at the start, I sure got it, so pleased to help someone else. Have a great weekend and I appreciate you watching, cheers Alan
Darn the fog wouldn't let us see the view but I'm sure it's pretty amazing. Love the trails though.
Funny enough the weather forecast said sun all morning and all afternoon, he sure got that wrong lol. Thank you very much for watching, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN it was probably for a different year :)
@@debsmostexcellentadventure5353 - no, thanks, very much for the info Debs, really appreciate it :o)
@@AlanMETALMAN is it a pay and display or pay in the mine to park ?
@@BorderRambler - It's £5 all day and a bit more for an overnight but customers are free, so I always park and then go in and buy something, so do not pay the parking, as I am a customer. They are open early doors for bait and hot drinks too.
@@AlanMETALMAN thanks Alan 👍
Looks can very deceptive, you must have plenty of stamina and fitness. That was a good test, impressive stuff
Heelllo Alan... funny you did your dedication to a fellow creator💜
I also posted your link at my latest hiking video in your honor for your inspiration in getting me hiking💜 thank you Alan
Awesome, thank you! Real nice of you to do that and I had a great days hiking with Katy, despite the misty conditions. When I first started a few real nice people gave me a helping hand, so doing the same and helping Katy out as her channel is real new. Take care and enjoy the weekend, cheers Alan
