    Please do more tutorials in the style of Mick Jenkins you could for example make a beat in the style of his song "Frontstreet" produced by Kay Tranada or in the style of his darker songs like "Reflection" or "Contacts"

    Yooo, I have 2 questions if you got the time :
    -do you have tips on learning chord progressions to achieve a certain sound? Imagine you hear a song that inspires you and you want a similar sound, what's your process to achieve it? If you have any recommendations of ressources or Ytb channels that helped you learn music theory, it would help a lot.
    -What plugin did you use for the bass please? Sounds so good. would you say it's the best bass plugin?
    Thank u, keep going. U got a new subscriber

      thanks for the sub my guy! For theory, I really like these channels - Gifted Hands Music, Marco Cirillo, Charles Cornell. I search a lot of tutorials for songs to learn chord phrasing - Carleton Maybell does tons of songs which are good to see how certain songs are voicing the chords, because a song could be a ii V I for example, but sounds completely different to another song using that progression in the same key. I find learning theory never makes sense at the time, but weeks later things start to click and im very beginner still.
      The bass was a MODO bass VST, I think its the free version. If I had to chose a VST to buy it would be the Native Instruments Rickenbacker one which people like Kenny Beats use, or the Trillian Bass Module which is what Metro uses for his non synth bass lines.

    Also, do u mind telling me the drumkits you used for the drums at 2:46 ? And do u have one under your name I can cop? Sorry i'm spazzing with the questions

      I am working on a drum kit, but since I don't have one myself I'll try list the kits I used.
      Original Sound Vintage kit for the Kick (think its splice kit), Drillers and trappers London drill (splice) for the rim and both hit hats, Mike Zara Stash (reddit kit) for the Bank hi hat.

    Do you know what the function of the minor major chord is? When do you usually play it in progressions (what degrees does it often work at) ? I don't know how to fit it in progressions lmao

    • @ninety_ldn
      @ninety_ldn  Год назад +1

      It is difficult, there's a few ways to use it. Usually its like the diminished chord where it really wants to resolve so its used as a suspense chord a lot of the time (think spy films like old James Bond films). In harmonic minor scales, it can be used as the tonic (first chord).
      Easy way to use it is like the Beatles did in "something" start on a regular minor chord, then play the minor major, then a minor 7th all with the same root note. I would start with a harmonic minor scale then build some chords, and see if it works with any of your progressions. Its such a weird chord, it is difficult to use melodically
