I m government employee and honours in economics I know NPS is good scheme but Employees have to understand it properly.. their is rumours spreading around it after retirement no one get pension and also 100% investment in stock market.. but actually not 100% it varies and there is other investments categories like Treasury bills. Bonds, debts etc so there is no need to worry about this who are going to serve atleast 10 years in government services...

Under OPS an employee who has not rendered minimum 10 years of service is not entitled for Pensionery benefits on his superannuation. Where as under NPS rendering minimum 10 years of service is not required for getting pensionery benefit.

Reasons 1) Current accumulation of NPS has reduced volatility in equity market. 2) From 2004 tax advantage was already provided. 3) With current inflation rate OPS will be real burden to tax payers. 4) More over privatisation of public sector entity will have conflict with OPS. Even though they bring it, it won't stay for long just sometime untill government change.
And one more thing... All those who are getting more pension would have taken enough bribe in their career so that they would pt depend on pension schemes

Sir. You have given some good clarification about NPS &OPS But under OPS if a person has served for less than ,28 years he will not get 50 persent of his last drawn basic pay as pension. This 50 persent will be decided by 33 and multiplied by no of years of service plus 5 years the resultant will be his basic pension or the minimum pen fixed by govt.will be his pension.

Sir from 2009 there will be deduction of some amount in my fathers salary as NPS and it will become more than 10 lakhs... But now my father get retired and as per state govt recent decisions my father comes under OPS.... So my doubt is can he get that deducted amount back....? For group B C and D large number of employees are suffering due to low amount accumulation during retirement. Instead of putting 14% now let they accumulate on each employee account and put after retirement. Don't barrow from our salary.

Sir from 2009 there will be deduction of some amount in my fathers salary as NPS and it will become more than 10 lakhs... But now my father get retired and as per state govt recent decisions my father comes under OPS.... So my doubt is can he get that deducted amount back....? If incase he get that amount what would be the return amount...? Is that complete 10 lakh or 60% ....? Pls answer for my question sir...i am in big confusion.

But how about remaining 40% sir, if there is some unfortunate then will it go govt or nominee. And also In case of unfortunate during service only 20% to nominee and remaining sd go for equity. After nominee term to whom our hard earned money will go to kindly give details on that aspect also.
