You need to tell,every person you spend money to now-at, gem mint-cgc-ps,Scam,A-you want ink test and paper test on any thing over one thousand dollar-watch them say be back later to you,thencallyourlawyer,and-test some your self-as, you just gave them about 400 k of fake stuff-as, if you can not touch it it is not real,as on line vendors lie,so do-the grading company that sells them on line to you. As-if it is serialized you need the name of the owner who first bought it.

Speechless... Congrats Jeff on some awesome pickups... My favorite is the Kobe Bryant 1 of 1 Prizm black auto🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I was fortunate to pull 2 Kobe auto's in the day and I stupidly sold them both for under 200.00... One thing alot of people are missing is that their are alot Panini unopened boxes out there with Kobe auto's still in them. Some product names had very generous amounts and different subsets of Kobe autos. You have to do your homework and check the checklists but there are some sleeper products out there... Hoops is probably the most underrated as some years and the 2019-20 Hoops was absolutely loaded with different Kobe autos... Plus, the 2019-20 Hoops was the last live autos that Kobe signed... I believe cases and boxes of this product is going to get very expensive in the near future as more people figure this out!!! Hope my tip helps you and all the loyal followers on this channel... Ty, for sharing....

This is incredibly cool and all. But as a much smaller collector, this is just insane. None of these cards are attainable for any of us lol 😢
It's ridiculous money , truly incomprehensible to me. If I was going to a card show I'd probably be able to come up with $500-800 if I saved for it. Obviously I shouldn't be able to get cards as cool as this, but even the non superstar players are crazy high. All graded and using comps and all that. More business than hobby and it's extra lame now for people with low budgets!

If I’m being completely honest, I think the sports card market will keep going down steadily overall in the next 10 years with some spikes and some declines in there somewhere. I hope I’m wrong tho. I’m usually wrong so maybe it’s good I think that. Wether or not it goes down or up, these are just cool ass cards to have. I really like that gold Kobe auto. Really rare and great color match.

There is always booms and busts in every market, that’s why I Assume he invests in the greats of their sports to mitigate a little bit of risk. There isn’t a “if” of cards going down, cards our defiantly gonna drop in value. But there is also going to be a time in the future when they skyrocket up in value again and this man will be holding all the rare ones. Sometimes the best investor isn’t the smartest, it’s the investor with the biggest balls that holds through the market drops
I get the feeling it's going to be very rookie class driven for a while. We will invest in vets during the weaker class years and jump back on breaks when the class is solid.

Every card market has proven crashes. Its the same 100 people trading these overpriced cards back and forth speculating not collecting. The only thing more volatile to invest in are crypto shitcoins.
Also do more on the little guys that don't have the green back to buy the spendy cards not all of us make the big bucks but we do work hard everyday at are jobs to enjoy the hobby thanks

Everyone on here talking about card markets down and gonna be down. Of course it is. Why it's called recession. This is another reason people will lose and hurt. Everyone has to sell. Very few can still afford to purchase most cards. Vintage cards are new cool thing prices are stead or up but very slightly. Card market will go back up once economy comes back. People who think card market won't come back doesn't understand history of cards. This is smart. They are steals he's getting. I'd do same. I mean silver is down. Everything is down.
I think the only thing that’s really gonna sky rocket is vintage cards they made so many of the newer cards and over charged until topps and panini leaves I see the market staying stagnant
I think your wrong. The vast majority of cards all the base maybe. But the rare numbered parallels will continue to climb. I don't see how it will fall much further. There are too many people that love sports and support the card collecting hobby for prices to fall much further.

Good job you know what you’re doing. Now is the time to buy cards. they’ll go up no matter what, just hold and be patient. That’s what I’m doing. I spent about 30k last year on cards and they’re half the price now but I’m not worried since I’ll have them for at least the next 10-20 years anyway.

I like the three Kobe autograph highschool cards, probably because I have a press pass autograph, I bought in a pack in 1996 it's a psa9 my favorite card.
Most of the market is composed of people who need to sell cards to support themselves. When the market drops big time, it’s a really bad look to gloat about your pickups. Gross, talking about “only” $8400. Pride comes before the fall.
I think honestly cards will once again be forgotten about and people were just bored and compulsive during covid and government was throwing money at people not working. Reality is setting on especially with the financial market crashing
I hope the market continues to decline and stay there so I can get all the cards I dreamed of when I was kid. Because I'm not a flipper and have no intention of selling my cards for profit. I plan on giving them to my children where we can talk about them and who will add to the collection and give to their children.

Refractor prism chrome ,rookie ,pre rookie, heritage, 1st bowman, auto on card, facsimile, 🌈 rainbow.etc. etc.a rookie hits a Homer so his card sells forthousands. Grading companies competing for our money.Buy a card they make money 💰 sell they make money. Processing fee ? Top loaders penny sleeves. Counterfeit cards ,cut cards,grading cost ,lnsurance cost.signutures were mostly fake back in the 80,s and 90,s.No more topps.lt was great when there were only 1rookie per player.Mantle just went for over 12 million. With so so many rookies of one player.they will never sell for big money 💰. Everybody has one. Look at the auctions .people are dumping or trying to if there lucky at a great loss.look at all the auctions. The vintage cards are all going up.when the rest of the hobby is dead. I have a 1975 mini grade 9.there are no 10's of Mantle , Aaron .l tried to sell it for what l paid 400.00. No offers.so glad it didn't sell.people rather spend 10,ooo on a promising rookie. Take care

Definitely speculative gambling, though cool cards. I would’ve had a decent percentage of vintage mixed in as well.
Vintage is way too high. It never popped. It’s been on a steady increase and has not come down, even considering the crazy feb 21 hockey stick. Yep, it kept going after that. I rEcently sold about 1/2 my vintage and I’m probably going to sell the other minus a few in the next few weeks. Modern and ultra modern is just too beat up, I have to go big on it.

These limited edition, purposely scarce cards are pure gambling. Lebron card for 8400…thinks it’s a deal because one sold for 31k last year. Like stocks….these things can fall 60-70-80% from peak. Like any investor, might be making a big mistake just comparing current values vs last years peak.
For this kind of money, give me a great 1953 topps mantle any day….
@@pikepoke for some reason it never found it’s value? That is unlikely. Vintage is always moving up very slowly and sometimes down because the players are either dead or haven’t played in decades. There isn’t supposed to be big movement in vintage. Ultra modern and modern indexes are based off the studs, so it moves like 150% a year. Obviously, most of the cards are losing but the indexes aren’t full of bol bol they are herro, maxey, ja, bane, Edwards, jackson, Zion, etc.
Shouldn't you be building up your vintage collection? Modern cards seem too volatile, manufactured scarcity with all the numbered cards.
Agreed…they’re limited by design…no thanks….I’m pre 1960s all the way. Crazy what people are spending on unproven players, just because the card is purposely rare. I think the market will crash severely on these type of cards….
@@Hopkidnow I'm a comic book guy, and anything Pre-1963 is great for long term investing in almost any grade. However ultra-modern comics have different covers with limited print runs to make them scarce (1000 or 3000) They're hot for about 2 weeks then the price tanks, but it's only a couple of hundred dollars at peak then no one wants them anymore. I stay away from them. I like cards and enjoy Geoff's channel as I collected cards when I was a kid, but with all his money, how could he not be buying up rare vintage? Blows my mind he spends as much as he does on ultra modern.
@@User8vfjhejf I’ve got to give him some credit…I really enjoyed his videos where he was pursuing a Goudey Ruth and a 52 topps mantle which ended up as a 51 bowman mantle purchase…but for views and subscribers, I respect that his videos focus on the newer cards. And he does have a great amount of money to spend, so props to him.
But yeah, I too can’t understand his strategy, and maybe I’m just old fashioned. But I just don’t get buying some one off type card where prices could fluctuate wildly, based on whether there’s any demand in the future for these types of cards. And using prices from last year, which could have been completely irrational and overblown, to serve as a benchmark. It’s kinda like how investors treat meme stocks or crypto, I guess.

This is crazy, but that exact MJ Platinum Portrait (with the exact same BGS serial number!) was one I just featured on a video I made comparing Jordan card prices on the US and Chinese markets. That exact card sold on the Chinese domestic market in July, and then on eBay (presumably to Geoff) in August. That's crazy. What a collapse in prices. I'm mainly into Magic cards and the old cards have barely dropped compared to a lot of these Sports ones. Not trying to hate, I'm just amazed at the price difference in a single year. Should be interesting to see where it ends up in the next few years! Glad to gain a different perspective in other card hobbies from this channel.
Awesome pickups. Market could be bottoming. Giannis, in my opinion, remains underrated. People talk about how Steph should be considered as one one of the all time greats. I don’t think Giannis is far behind. He is a beast on both ends
Most of these cards are not "my things" and calling cards labeled to 500 "rare" is hard to wrap my head around as a (mostly) vintage soccer card collector.... but this was a fun video to watch and I really like a number of those cards.... I love the uniqueness of the SkyBox inserts, so they would get my vote... but a lot of interesting cards for sure
The rarity really comes from the supply of the card in that specific grade

The publicity will steadily increase over the next couple of years assuming as expected that Ovechkin continues to score at close to his career rate. Also there will be a publicity spike about half way through this coming season when Ovechkin surpasses the last remaining player between Gretzky and himself the legendary Gordie Howe. It's too bad that Ovechkin was robbed of what should have been his rookie season and another half season or so because of Covid or we would almost certainly be looking at a new record before the end of this coming season. If he does surpass Gretzky it will be one of the most phenomenal achievements in sports history. Consider that when Wayne Gretzky played goal scoring was at its peak. Wayne played through the era when the highest goals per game rate took place. Alex Ovechkin was not afforded such luxury instead playing his career during an era when goal scoring went through its lowest goals per game rate ever. Combine that with the loss of a season and a half that was totally out of his hands and it's nothing short of incredible that he is right on the cusp of breaking a record that's tough to top in any sport. All I have to say as a Canadian is congrats to Ovechkin he deserves it and I hope he gets it. And that he's lucky Mike Bossy RIP didn't play 20 seasons. Back to the subject though I expect the next couple of years are going to be more generous to the value of Ovechkins cards than they are to Gretzkys but I don't think all the attention will necessarily hurt the value of Gretzky's cards either.
Not to hate but this is just typical rich getting richer. While the economy is forcing more people to pinch pennies or sell for equity the people with plenty of money get to "invest" in "blue chips". Geoff made some killer investments, at an opportune time for those who can afford to do so. I am sure he will do EXTREMELY well. Except for maybe that Zion purchase! LOL Probably the only card of the video with a possible down side or risk. Congratulations Geoff!😎👍✌️

I'm not saying that you were cavalier with your money, but I think if you had invested more wisely you could have placed a winning bid for a 1952 Mickey Mantle 9.5 BGS. Just saying 🤷🏻♂️
Dude, those cards are ridiculously hyped and vintage has gone up way too far to fast. Everything else has crashed dramatically and vintage is sky high. I sold 1/2 my vintage collection and I’ll sell the rest if it gets any more stupid.

As an MJ Collector, Im enamored by his 90s cards, the best looking inserts came from that era. The Platinum Portraits are indeed a beauty. It was one of the most uniquely designed cards together with nbt, bmoc, competitive advantage, net assets, jambalaya, silky smooth and the PMG of course from the Metal line.
