Buy low and sell high is the investor's goal. I only buy vintage due to lack of knowledge and lack of interest in any card after the 1970's. But I still like this guy's enthusiasm and positivity. I buy vintage before 1976 and mostly undervalued Hall of Famers from the 1950's and 1960's because there still might be more and more of the cards after 2000 get discovered and getting PSA 10 grades.
@@Hopkidnow Nice pick up with the Feller; I haven't bought a card for that much money in years! I completed my collection and now have 1,000's of dupes to sell, but it looks like so much work. I also feel old at times but enjoy watching the younger generation discover cards. 1960's are also my favorites. I bought my first pack in 1969 and got a Willie Mays in one of my early packs and was hooked ever since. He was always my favorite player and getting his card in a pack was like magic.
@@888strummer 30 years ago, my first vintage was a 62 topps maris, which I then traded for a 65 topps mantle with a pencil mark. Erased that mark. This was all before psa, and I was just a kid back then, so I didn’t know any better. It came out looking great, so then traded it for a 54 topps Ted Williams. Great shape so traded it for a 53 topps Paige and 48 bowman feller (Paige card wasn’t super popular back then as it is now). Then traded both for a T206 tris speaker which I then got graded by psa. They were very lenient back then, and it came back a 6. For the 1960s, I couldn’t afford rookie cards so I got the 2nd year cards of Yaz, Rose, Seaver, Ryan, Carlton, etc. Great era
@@KingKuba1313 Vintage from the 1960's is 50+ years old, so there will be much less vintage discovered from the 1960's and 1970's than there will be from the past 20 years except for these mega rare $100,000+ type cards. And let's face it; almost no one here has $500,000 to invest like this guy who buys modern cards for $100,000+. Most buying modern are buying cards that are in huge quantities and make for much riskier investments than vintage hall of famers in PSA 6 or better from 50 years ago.
This is absolutely crazy, what an amazing collection. You deserve it all Geoff. Congrats on the great pickups. One of your "lower end" pickups are worth way more than my entire collection🤣
For a moment, I thought the last card was going to be Kobe's 96/97 Topps chrome refractor as a PSA 10 or BGS 9.5. Still, the cards are incredible and at a steep discount to boot. I, like you, believe you did incredibly well and that it's just a matter of time for the pieces to regain their value. Congratulations Geoff.
I don't know anything about cards but from reading your comment I can tell your very well versed into this hobby. I tried looking up the card you mentioned and wasn't sure what it would exactly look like but am very curious to what it was!
I am happy for your amazing purchases and I am happy for us that we can have a look at it. It is a very nice move that you say what you have paid, so in later years it will be easier to tell if it was worth it. ( I truly believe that it will be worth in the long run!)
What a collapse in prices. I'm mainly into Magic cards and the old cards have barely dropped compared to a lot of these Sports ones. Not trying to hate, I'm just amazed at the price difference in a single year. Should be interesting to see where it ends up in the next few years! Glad to gain a different perspective in other card hobbies from this channel.
This investment will make you a rich man! Congrats on the amazing haul. I love vintage cards but have an appreciation of modern rare cards. Great Video!
The publicity will steadily increase over the next couple of years assuming as expected that Ovechkin continues to score at close to his career rate. Also there will be a publicity spike about half way through this coming season when Ovechkin surpasses the last remaining player between Gretzky and himself the legendary Gordie Howe. It's too bad that Ovechkin was robbed of what should have been his rookie season and another half season or so because of Covid or we would almost certainly be looking at a new record before the end of this coming season. If he does surpass Gretzky it will be one of the most phenomenal achievements in sports history. Consider that when Wayne Gretzky played goal scoring was at its peak. Wayne played through the era when the highest goals per game rate took place. Alex Ovechkin was not afforded such luxury instead playing his career during an era when goal scoring went through its lowest goals per game rate ever. Combine that with the loss of a season and a half that was totally out of his hands and it's nothing short of incredible that he is right on the cusp of breaking a record that's tough to top in any sport. All I have to say as a Canadian is congrats to Ovechkin he deserves it and I hope he gets it. And that he's lucky Mike Bossy RIP didn't play 20 seasons. Back to the subject though I expect the next couple of years are going to be more generous to the value of Ovechkins cards than they are to Gretzkys but I don't think all the attention will necessarily hurt the value of Gretzky's cards either.
Definitely Pelé cards are a great collection and investment. He is the greatest to ever play the game of soccer! I had a chance to see him play with the Cosmos at Giants stadium when I was a little boy. Another great soccer player is Diego Maradona. Thanks for sharing 👍
I'm still watching the video,so my opinion might change, but your Pelé collection is my favorite so far!! $18k I personally feel is a steal. He's not one of those athletes that is a huge fan of being in the limelight. Not sure if that means he doesn't sign much or not. But you really don't see him that much, even base cards. Great job on that pickup.👍😎👍

Great video and thank you for sharing your collection. My friend purchased a 2013 #290 Prizm Silver Giannis A. for $250 back in 2015 and now wroth a lot.
Awesome pickups. Market could be bottoming. Giannis, in my opinion, remains underrated. People talk about how Steph should be considered as one one of the all time greats. I don’t think Giannis is far behind. He is a beast on both ends
As a lifelong Angeleno, Kobe is an LA icon. I believe your Kobe pick ups are solid “investments”. Might take 5-7 years to see substantial appreciation. Long-term holds.
Matthew 6:19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Dude you know what you're doing, you did very well. I'd love to talk to you about my rookie invest packages (baseball), we pick 25 cards, you reap the benefits. Proven track record 30 years. No one will see this, but my in store customers are ecstatic and we're trying to reach a broader audience. We were preaching Vaughn Grissom and Jose Miranda before almost anyone.
I hope the market continues to decline and stay there so I can get all the cards I dreamed of when I was kid. Because I'm not a flipper and have no intention of selling my cards for profit. I plan on giving them to my children where we can talk about them and who will add to the collection and give to their children.
You are a rare kind. I agree ! This 1of 50,ooo is ridiculous. Refractor prism chrome ,rookie ,pre rookie, heritage, 1st bowman, auto on card, facsimile, 🌈 rainbow.etc. etc.a rookie hits a Homer so his card sells forthousands. Grading companies competing for our money.Buy a card they make money 💰 sell they make money. Processing fee ? Top loaders penny sleeves. Counterfeit cards ,cut cards, grading cost ,lnsurance cost.signutures were mostly fake back in the 80,s and 90,s.No more topps.lt was great when there were only 1rookie per player.Mantle just went for over 12 million. With so so many rookies of one player.they will never sell for big money 💰. Everybody has one. Look at the auctions .people are dumping or trying to if there lucky at a great loss.look at all the auctions. The vintage cards are all going up.when the rest of the hobby is dead. I have a 1975 mini grade 9.there are no 10's of Mantle , Aaron .l tried to sell it for what l paid 400.00. No offers.so glad it didn't sell.people rather spend 10,ooo on a promising rookie. Take care
just so everybody knows these are the guys who you are competing with, people who spend 500K on cards like how you spend 20 bucks lol.. if you buy a Ja Morant rookie for $50 on eBay and he wins the MVP you’re still going to lose money.. if you’re trying to be in this hobby for profit and ur cards ain’t 10k plus each.. good f’ing luck
Holy shit, congrats man. Absolutely beautiful cards, every single one of them. Think about it, you can’t go wrong investing in the 3 most popular players of all time, MJ, Kobe, Lebron. Those cards will sell for INSANE amounts in the future, if you even have the heart to sell them.
Are we going to see more vintage pickups? Pre-war has tons of upside. The top two most popular sports in the world are soccer and cricket. Both have super cool pre-war sets
insane collection... congrats on the pickups.. lillard is my guy and I have been picking up a few for my collection as well as the prices have dropped recently
I stumbled across your channel and I'm glad I did. Pulled out my old binder of cards from when I was a kid. Mostly baseball and a few basketball and football cards. Most likely not worth much, but I have no idea. I don't know much about cards anymore, but for my sake of curiosity I purchased a few 2022 nfl draft boxes. Anything I should look for?
That platinum portrait jordan is sick. The video spazzing out here didnt do it justice. The moltens arent quite as nice looking imo but having them numbered certainly adds to the appeal for many I'm sure.

I think honestly cards will once again be forgotten about and people were just bored and compulsive during covid and government was throwing money at people not working. Reality is setting on especially with the financial market crashing
All amazing pickups! Amazing choices! I like your taste in cards. I agree with your choice as favorite card being the Kobe Molten Metal numbered to /40. But (since I already have a Kobe Bryant Platinum Portrait) if I could have any one of those cards it would probably be the Jordan Platinum Portrait or Jordan Molten Metal. Niiiiiiiiiiice collection all the way around!
Most of these cards are not "my things" and calling cards labeled to 500 "rare" is hard to wrap my head around as a (mostly) vintage soccer card collector.... but this was a fun video to watch and I really like a number of those cards.... I love the uniqueness of the SkyBox inserts, so they would get my vote... but a lot of interesting cards for sure
Imagine thinking #'d cards arent rare because they arent ppd school soccer. What a weirdo. This guy thinks a card print less than 500 isn't rare. I guess you don't know about the Wax Era?
I literally forgot about collecting cards for years and years until I heard cards went up during covid and then I got back into it. And now I'm starting to forget about them again.
Also do more on the little guys that don't have the green back to buy the spendy cards not all of us make the big bucks but we do work hard everyday at are jobs to enjoy the hobby thanks

Great era
There will be more vintage discovered too....
Love watching this video. Most be fun picking up so many great cards. Should definitely do more videos on your PC!!!
Love your videos
I wish I was able to meet you at the Burbank show
#1 fan
For a moment, I thought the last card was going to be Kobe's 96/97 Topps chrome refractor as a PSA 10 or BGS 9.5. Still, the cards are incredible and at a steep discount to boot. I, like you, believe you did incredibly well and that it's just a matter of time for the pieces to regain their value. Congratulations Geoff.
I don't know anything about cards but from reading your comment I can tell your very well versed into this hobby. I tried looking up the card you mentioned and wasn't sure what it would exactly look like but am very curious to what it was!
I don't like LeBron but I like money so nice investment 👌
I am happy for your amazing purchases and I am happy for us that we can have a look at it. It is a very nice move that you say what you have paid, so in later years it will be easier to tell if it was worth it. ( I truly believe that it will be worth in the long run!)
Kobe was my neighbor for years, when you in LA next time have to come on the boat and tell you some amazing stories
I’m a simple guy with cards. Numbered rookie cards are my favorites. The Steph refractor is 🔥💰🔥💰
What a collapse in prices.
Geoff, so nice man! Great deals on the Lebrons and Zions. Hands down, that Kobe is beast mode! Hope to see you soon and the upcoming Chantilly show.
Awesome genuine person, who brings excitement to the hobby! Heck.. he sure helped pull me back in.. but less zeros to work with over here.🤪🤣😩
Wow!!! Good cards Bro! Best I've seen of Lebron
This investment will make you a rich man! Congrats on the amazing haul. I love vintage cards but have an appreciation of modern rare cards. Great Video!
I would also pick up Gretzky and Ovechkin rookies. After Ovechkin breaks the record for goals Gretzky will go up and so will Ovechkin
Hot take!
Geoff went full GOAT mode!
A year from then: My god this guy lost a lot of money on those cards.
Definitely Pelé cards are a great collection and investment. He is the greatest to ever play the game of soccer! I had a chance to see him play with the Cosmos at Giants stadium when I was a little boy. Another great soccer player is Diego Maradona. Thanks for sharing 👍
by far the best of all in terms of price and perspective is the set with pele. When graded easily 1mil plus the whole set. Amazing video.
Very nice cards. I'd like to see some of the more obscure cards you buy, not just the mainstream buys.
There's not much money in investing in obscure stuff. The most obscure I'd recommend is 2019 Fortnite
totally agree.
I LOVED this video! Geoff flexing on all of us! Just starting with that black label Lebron! WOW!
YOUR KILLING ME , I ONLY WISH I COULD PURCHASE SOME CARDS - I WISH I COULD PURCHASE JUST ONE CARD LIKE THAT , WOW YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY FOR SURE !
CONGRATULATIONS ON SUCH GREAT PICK UP “S !
Awesome video and great pick ups!!! Really love the Kobe black auto just a beautiful card!!!!
Great video and thank you for sharing your collection. My friend purchased a 2013 #290 Prizm Silver Giannis A. for $250 back in 2015 and now wroth a lot.
Metal Universe has so many great inserts. The precious metal gems have been selling for alot.
Truly appreciate this episode. Kobe signature rookie and lebron black refractor are jaw dropping.
Good luck on your investments!!!
Take care
THANK YOU SOMEONE ELSE SICK OF THE RICH PIECE OF SHIT!!!!
just so everybody knows these are the guys who you are competing with, people who spend 500K on cards like how you spend 20 bucks lol.. if you buy a Ja Morant rookie for $50 on eBay and he wins the MVP you’re still going to lose money.. if you’re trying to be in this hobby for profit and ur cards ain’t 10k plus each.. good f’ing luck
Just a quick FYI Geoff, from a 90s collector. PMGs and Star Rubies aren't actually inserts there parallels.
When one is using stock market gains or profits to buy cards it’s just satisfying .. you almost feel you didn’t spend much at all
I am not into Basketball. I am into Pokemon cards and I have to say that I love your videos! I hope one day you starts collection Pokemon cards as well. Keep up the good work! 👏👍🤗
You are very smart Geoff! You picked some of the best cards to buy right now. Of course basketball because we forgot about basketball already. And Vintage soccer. Your cards wil go up. I am in Wisconsin. Smart move on Giannis. Jesus bless!
Love, Love, Love the Pele Rainbow! Wow!! So Sick!! Get ya some Maradona, too. Impressive collection! Congrats!
deserve 1M subs. soon soon. amazing collection. congrats!
The collection is unreal. The Jordan & Kobe Metal is what I want for my PC.
I just purchased a Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Fernando Tatis, & Vladimir Guerrero Jr. RC PSA 10's Bowman X-Fractor for my PC.
I love all the cards you brought. I agree with you they are very nice cards one day maybe I can afford one.. It’s nice to be a multi millionaire like you. I sure you work hard to be in a nice place that you are..God Bless You. We really appreciate you showing us your super nice collection.. you really built up a nice collection..👏👍🙏☮️✝️🇺🇸 from Louis 🙂
Very awesome collection🔥. Thank you for showing us.
I think honestly cards will once again be forgotten about and people were just bored and compulsive during covid and government was throwing money at people not working. Reality is setting on especially with the financial market crashing
Loving the Pele’ rainbow! Congrats!
Those last 2 are my favorite as well. Price will go up. They always will.
Awesome pick ups. Love the Kobe Prizms and the Lebron xfrqctor was amazing. Congrats.
The rarity really comes from the supply of the card in that specific grade
Imagine thinking #'d cards arent rare because they arent ppd school soccer. What a weirdo. This guy thinks a card print less than 500 isn't rare. I guess you don't know about the Wax Era?
its so crazy seeing kobe's signature bc it looks almost identical to mine lol, even the variance between the three. very trippy
My favorite is definitely the lebron topps chrome black refractor. Sold for $450k at its peak. You got it for $115k absolute steal
I literally forgot about collecting cards for years and years until I heard cards went up during covid and then I got back into it. And now I'm starting to forget about them again.
I guess when there is another pandemic, you’ll come back…
Also do more on the little guys that don't have the green back to buy the spendy cards not all of us make the big bucks but we do work hard everyday at are jobs to enjoy the hobby thanks
No secret to why your buying Lebron , when he breaks Kareems record his cards will go up for sure . Geoff , you could buy me one to i wouldnt mind 😆 fun video
Exactly!!! Wait till he breaks the most coveted NBA record, a record that has stood for over 40 years!!
