Hi there ,thank you so much for taking time out to do this as we are coming there in May for our 1st time and from your very good review it looks like we're going to love it there. We were a bit unsure at the beginning but after watching this it has put our mind at ease. Thanks once again for taking time out of your holiday to do this 5*
Thank you for your kind comment. This is our favourite hotel, so we love showing people what's so great about it. We'll be there in May too so we may see you. Have a great time!
Thank you for the video Rob! I came here ever summer 2001-2005 when I was a kid. I had so many happy memories here. It's great to see the hotel doing well. Some parts look just as I remember them, others have changed, but it looks like for the better! I would love to go back after a 19 year absence!
No worries. Glad you enjoyed the memories. They have certainly overhauled at lot of the hotel over the last few years so it’s no wonder it looks different if you haven’t been since 2005.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it's really helpful. I hope you get a good discount for doing it 😉. Has anyone been there the last week in June and if so were there lots of children? Our children are grown up and we prefer a quieter holiday these days.
Thanks Steven, glad you enjoyed it. The hotel has recently had the reception and saloon area renovated so will look even more spectacular when you get there. We are visiting again in two weeks and hope to have an updated video soon.
stayed there in 1987 and 1989... it was just simply Taurus Park Hotel then, them steps to the lobby still the same apart from the wheel chair access ramp. Cant believe Pepe's bar still going, i was only 7, still got t-shirts from that bar my folks got me. I wanna return here on day soon. been too long!
Great Review Rob, We love the Taurus & are going to book again for May 2024 (Think it will be our 4th Visit). Yes it is one of the more expensive Hotels to stay in but for a reason. The food alone is worth the extra cost, we have never seen so much variety and quality (and have certainly stayed in a few other 4* hotels to compare to) As you say the entertainment is always good and similar to the big caravan parks in the UK Pineda is a lovely town and we prefer to stay there as not too Touristy but still plenty to keep you occupied, we often have a walk around all the little backstreets to find different shops and bars and have always felt safe there, the "Squares" around town come alive at night and families all seem to meet up to see their grandkids, relatives etc People should try taking the train on a Sunday to Tordera and visit the Huge Market there, it is lovely and is only about 4 Euro return
@@robonholidayblog thinking of booking around mid May, it's about the only place that the good lady says she wants to go, so better do as I am told and book it up Take care Kev
Hi great video, but what is pool temperature like during late May, early June time is it cold or is it heated? And is the area warm during May/June time. Thank you
The outdoor pools are not heated. How warm they are depends on how sunny it has been. We’ve been late May many times and sometimes the pools have been warm, sometimes cool. Weather is generally good at this time of year but the further into June you go, the better chance of hot weather.
That's great to hear. We've just come back from the hotel again after a 2-week trip and it was fantastic. Just starting to quiet down to a nice crowd level now and the weather is looking nice and hot. Hope you have a great time.
Honestly your video was such a massive help, lovely to see what’s around, I know you mentioned you love staying at the hotel, are there any local bars or restaurants, even a bit of a distance away you would recommend?
@@hirobkennedy521 Unfortunately that's the one area I can't help with. We eat all three meals at the hotel, so we don't go out to eat. If you're looking for English food, I know a lot of people like The Bucaneer, which is a pub in Pineda town. Other than that, there are a few beach bars along the beach which look nice, and the neighbouring town of Calella is a bit more built up, so you might find something there.
Nice video Rob, How are the beds at the pools, do you have to put towels on time or not, are now at Evenia Llorret and it is not necessary there because there are enough beds
Great video, I'm going there tomorrow for the first time after 12 years, back then I was a little kid so I don't remember much of it anymore, my question is, do they have free WiFi in the Hotel rooms?
@@NaomiandAlexBuck I'm sure you'll have a great time. We love this hotel and go twice a year usually. Great atmosphere and the entertainment team is fantastic - the highlight for us.
We are probably going in May and September next year, but June is great too. You should have some nice weather and not too bad crowds at the games etc. Glad you enjoy the videos. We just want to show people what is so good about this place.
thanks Rob. few questions if you dont mind 1. does Hola BCN 2 days pass work from Pineda de Mar to Barcelona Sant or do i need separate ticket for it? 2. does hotel provide beach parasol umbrellas or do people bring their own? can you buy from shop? i was thinking to bring small tent 3. the rooms at ground floow with private swimming pool, do they come with extra charge?
1. You'll need a separate ticket because the card only covers Zone 1 (I think Pineda is Zone 4?) 2. The hotel does not provide parasols for the beach. To be honest, we don't go to the beach, so not sure about whether you can rent or not. 3. The pool rooms are an extra charge (and quite a bit of an extra charge to be honest). They are available to book on the hotel's official website. Hope this helps.
Need some advice .. is the trip from BCN Airport on the train easy and practical enough ? We have 3 kids , fancy the train , but only if its easy enough to do. Private transfers seem very steep
As far as I know, you can't get a direct train from the airport to Pineda de Mar. You would have to get a train or metro from the airport into Barcelona and then switch to the local train taking you to Pineda. We have never taken a train or metro from the airport, so I can't comment on that, but the train from Barcelona (Plaça de Catalunya) to Pineda takes just over an hour. At the other end, it is about a 15-minute walk to the hotel. Hope this helps.
Get the Train to Sants & Change there for Coastal train to Pineda, around 1hr 50 and only around 5 Euros each, alternatively catch the Sagales Coach which is pretty much 1hr (or 1hr 40 depending on which one you catch) and costs around 10 euro, this drops you off on Main Road (Going to Pineda) and is around 10 minute walk straight down the road past allotments to the Taurus (generally collects to return to Airport at the front of the Hotel)
Thank you so much for this video. We have just booked to go next year. Can I ask a question? We are going half board, can you change your evening meal to lunch on some days? Thanks
Hello rob This video has really helped me get a really good idea of what the hotel is like so thank you 😊 Can I ask you how much it costs to upgrade to the golden all inclusive from half board when you are at the hotel ? And is there a minimum amount of days you have to do it for ? Thanks
Hi glad the video was helpful. Not sure how much the Golden All Inclusive upgrade is. I know that generally, you have to do a minimum of 5 nights All Inclusive.
No problem. Obviously I don’t know your daughter’s exact situation, but given what you’ve said, you should know that this is a very busy and lively hotel. So whilst you can relax in relative peace around the quieter pool, the hotel in general is not a quiet place in general. Having said that, it is a fabulous place for a holiday and they do cater for all needs and disabilities. Thanks again for watching and best of luck whatever you decide.
No unfortunately they don’t do karaoke anymore. They have a variety of acts come in for shows every night (singers, dancers, magician, acrobats etc) plus every Saturday the animation team do a special 60th anniversary show which is our favourite.
Some people get a train into Barcelona and then the coastal train from there however we prefer a taxi - there are lots of taxis outside the terminal. If you are flying into Girona, taxi is definitely the best option
That truth is no, it isn’t that bad. We’ve been many times in May and MOST times it has been fine. The pools do rely on the sun to warm them so it’s never going to be as warm as June - August. We went one year in May and the water was chilly, but we were unlucky then.

No, not been to the Nou Camp. Barcelona is just 70 mins away on a train and from the centre you can easily get to the Nou Camp by metro.
