This time the fault was caused by "unreasonable force".

I've been watching Big Clive for many, many years.
This episode, however, was one of the most entertaining EVER...
Ralfy, saying out loud, what we all think as we think it, and Clive's responses, have me in stitches...
Ralfy's commentary is great, and they clearly know each other too well haha

I love that even with the banter, you were turning the screws backwards to get the threads started at the proper position to avoid weakening the plastic. A true expert.
That's one of those little details that go unnoticed by most people.
I doubt that Clive himself even notices
"Did you press it with increasing force because it wouldn't turn on?" My father broke a cheap inkjet printer that way once.
My brother broke a computer like that once. He asked me to come see if I could fix the power button. When I arrived and saw it, the area around the power button was bashed in. "Well it wouldn't turn on so I kicked it into the wall."
I knew someone who broke a £20,000 printer because it wouldn't turn off immediately when he pressed the "stop" button, not realising that it would finish printing everything it had already been sent before it stopped.
My dad broke our first VCR back in the '80s that way

whenever you guys are together its a whirlwind ... like aluminum and iron oxide... each stable on their own, but thermite when mixed. But i like thermite, so its great.

He cheated by knowing where his soldering iron and solder were. I would have gone down the paper clip and insulating tape route as I know where they are.
@@xxxggthyf that reminds me of when I was little I called myself an electrician I used electrical tape and paper clips sometimes tinfoil as wire and got a battery and lite a single Xmas light up
@@anthonygarcia5375 In my service engineer days paper clips were an essential part of the tool kit. Truly a multifunctional work of engineering genius. They could be used to thwart safety cut-off switches, as extra long and extra thin multimeter probes, as cable ties and of course... as "fuses".

Many years ago I used to have 3 teams of kitchen fitters working for me. One was a father and son team, great joiners. The way I used to find them on site was to follow to sound of arguing. My god they could argue all day but the work was second to none.

-Or the fact that Clive knows not to just replace the button, but instead making it 100% Ralfy proof.

I pronounce it the same way as Clive, and I am also Scottish, from approximately the same part of the same town as him.

Unreasonable force, yeah often happens... though it was only a matter of time before the switch gave way anyways. I often find that the switches inside garden lights fail, and as a fix I just bridge the contacts once the switch fails.
