Depends, on a technical standpoint I agree, Unity is a much better game all around, but Assassin's Creed 2 story is what makes it shine. A pity they gave up on working with this engine, all AC games would benefit greatly from its capabilities, both new and old (that could've been remade using this engine)
@@LoneNorseman No I'm sorry but AC2's story was piss poor. It was everything people hated about Odyessy. The villains were generic and one note. Lackes any depth of the the first game. Ezio felt like shallow, lack of cohesive and consistent growth. Ubi paint the Templars as bad guy and Assassin's as the good guy but AC1 never specificied. It was always viewed as one of the same only with different ways to go about it. It's okay for as a hollywood action blockbuster but it lacked any form of nuance.

It might be my nostalgia glasses talking since AC2 was the first AC I've ever played, granted the story is not the deepest but I think it the point of it being so shallow was the this was Ezio's view on the matter, at least for the most part... Altaïr was a seasoned assassin, but he did break the tenets of the creed out of pride, I think it's less surface level because of the tailing, the talks with Malik or other bureau masters.. My view on it was always that Ezio just saw the Templars as the people who killed his family, it's easier to make it seem like they're just bad guys.
I don't think so even if it was polished the story was okay at best and the fighting and parkour systems were not good the only great thing about that game were the graphics !

If only they hand't ditched the Anvil Engine, the latter games would've been much better, even though lacking in feeling like Assassin's Creed anymore (from Syndicate onwards), at least the gameplay would live to the expectation, now it's just another Souls knockoff
However nice it is to see the face behind Arno, it *really* bothers me that he's English. This game is created by a French company and is an ode to France so at least they could have used French actors.

Arnos actor did a incredible British accent and then on top of that his French pronunciation was spot on

I used to play this game on my Xbox one
Unity would've been a big hit if it wasn't release in 2014 but later on to fix those bugs.
But personally I love unity but dislike syndicate
