    I was thinking when I heard the far better bass amp, I'll just buy that one along with a DC to AC converter and 12 Volt battery. Then you show one at the end. Nice video. I like the way you hold back on your opinion and instead let the viewer decide.

    Thanks Chuck. I bought a pair of QSC CP12, and they sound much better than any Roland. I use them for busking and gigs and people really appreciate how good sound I have.

    I was not really ever impressed with the EX Cube.. But I do love my pair of CM-30 Roland monitors, I just seen these the CM30's for 239.00ea. at a store here in Fort Wayne> I am checking into the Coolis HP150.. to see how long it will last with my set up... Great review...as always PMC :) You Rock !!!

    They sound closer on the guitar sounds, but the QSC wins for the keyboard i think.... nice video mate!! Well done.

    The beauty of Roland is you no need to charge it nor you ever forget to charge it. Worst thing if the rechargeable batteries get weak and only can sustain you for 5 minutes playing time. That what will happen to the AC power supply. No such thing will happen to the Roland, just drop AA size batteries in and you ready to rock. Supplies of AA batteries is conveniently available, from 7-11 store, hardware shops, malls and so forth. Just buy a few packs of AA batteries and packed it inside your bag. If batteries weak, just pop in a new fresh one....no need to waste time for recharging.

    I can’t believe that you have a review of the QSC cp-8 that I plan to use for busking! I only tested it in guitar center where I live and I was blown away at the quality and quantity of the sound! My question is, how much better does and how much more powerful is the cp-8?

    Is bose s1 pro a good replacement for cube street ex?
    Or replacing woofers in street ex to Jensen is a way to go?

    Hey thanks Chuck, very interesting video! I have my eye on the CP8's for an acoustic guitar solo gig, seems just fine for small venue;s acoustic guitar and vocals. The CP8 seems to have more low freq range than the Roland but, the CP8 actually sounded a little "boxy" compared to the Roland, not terrible but somewhat noticable. thanks for this Chuck.

    Did you use Balanced cables to connect to the Roland , or instrument cable?. Did you use the EQ on the Roland to give it more lower end ? How much difference is the loudness when they at Max volume? Do the two speakers inside the Roland give a good stereo field?

    CP8 sounded muffled at my end. Interesting to hear it in a mix. Digital simulation of instruments is a tough ask so a real test would be a vocalist with a full range. Thanks

    I tried a Cube Street Ex and KC220 in a shop - I was shocked at the quality of sound of Cube - it didn’t have a very good full sound - the KC220 sounded much better. Have you tried KC220 (not 110)? Out of QSC CP8 and KC220 - which would you recommend?

    Frequency response is king. Watts only rate the amount of noise.

  • @horacegrotewold

    I think that is much better the Roland because you can connect 4 guys playing and I don’t know if the sound it’s much stereo please tell me your opinion

    Probably the QSC CP8 sounds much better than the Roland. But Roland has more flexibility because of its vocal effects, guitar eq's, etc compared to the CP8.

    Just listening with my everyday practice headphones. The piano sounded clearer on the Roland IMO. The CP8 sounded muffled and kind of too warm. I'm really disappointed because I wanted it to win. On bass, the CP8 is definitely the winner for me. I'll try listening again tomorrow with other headphones and my studio speakers.
    I tried singing through a neglected looking Roland Cube Street EX less than a week ago. It was good when it worked, but the inputs were a bit tired. Sounds like more than 50 watts.
    Can anyone explain the theory behind double 8" speakers. More effective volume for wattage? Less strain on the system?
    I think the prices have gone up a lot since this video was made.
    And does anybody know the supposed range of the Cube in Hz? The CP8 is supposed to dive as low as 50Hz.

    If the QSC CP8 is 1000 watts don’t you need a power supply that can handle 1000 watts minimum if you plan on using it for busking?

    • @PianoManChuck
      @PianoManChuck  5 лет назад +3

      You're confusing wattage of amplifier/audio power with AC power draw wattage. The QSC CP series draws 90 watts of power from an AC outlet whether its from the wall or a portable power supply. It has nothing to do with amplifier/audio wattage.

      PianoManChuck Thanks! Good to know!

    • @Guitarman2
      @Guitarman2 5 лет назад

      PianoManChuck By the way, how did you figure out the power draw wattage for the QSC? I’m looking at the spec sheet and don’t see that number anywhere. Is their a formula you used? So for future reference I can figure it out on other equipment. You recommend any other low cost power supply units?

    • @PianoManChuck
      @PianoManChuck  5 лет назад +1

      @@Guitarman2 On the back panel under where AC power comes in there's a bunch of figures. One of them is Volts, the other is Amperage (0.75 Amps). Volts * Amps = Watts. So being plugged into a 120 Volt AC line * 0.75 Amps = 90 Watts.

    • @Guitarman2
      @Guitarman2 5 лет назад

      PianoManChuck If you look at the spec sheet for the QSC CP8 under AC power consumption that’s at 1/8 power. So wouldn’t you multiply .75 by 8 which gives you 6 and then times 6 by 120 to get 720? I know that would be at full power I know. Also as before, the Coolis hp150 isn’t available right now on Amazon but could you recommend something on Amazon that is a similar pure sine wave product around the same price and same wattage roughly?

    would a celestion EIGHT 15 work? Since I am in Australia and I can not find the Jensen anywhere but Celestion is available, and there is a question no one seems ask was, is the roland speaker guitar amp speaker or PA, HIFI type speaker?
