    Dad fished the Pee Dee river system for fifty years and was a legend in that area for his catfishing. He absolutely swore by big old head pieces for big blues. Back then the Pee Dee wasn’t even known for flatheads but it was full of huge blues.
    There’s nothing wrong with using crappie for bait. The more that are taken out of a system the bigger the remaining crappie populations get. Here in N.C, Jordan Lake is famous for its crappie fishing. It’s so good because thousands of people take thousands of pounds of them out of the lake every year. As long as the lake’s shad population is good you simply cannot overfish crappie if you follow fish & game limits.

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  5 лет назад

      Thanks Britton! When dragging, I usually hit both. Most of my fish come from the deepest breakline so that is where I spend the bulk of my time. When working a point, I like to try to hit the end of it from different angles. Sometimes they will only hit a bait moving in one direction for some reason.

      Game fish can be used in Tennessee as long as they are caught on rod and reel and meet the minimum size requirements.

    If I ever hook into one that big I will have to have a hand winch on my sundolphin to get it in the boat! Beautiful fish!
