      Was about to post: That is tame by German concert standards.
      And officially the reason the Bloodhound Gang likes holding concerts in Germany, because they don't get arrested for their performances there.
      But the band Knorkator regularly got power turned off because they like using a woodchipper to spray vegetables into the audience. Apparently the owner of the venue was not font of the idea of having to clean up the aftermath of that.

    Note: The Obsession with the number 4 is an edgelord thing because in Asia, the number 4 can be pronounced the same as “death”. Some of the more superstitious people do a lot to avoid it, some buildings of more than three floors like to pretend the fourth one doesn’t exist in labels, and there are urban legends about the fourth floor being haunted, although the original legend of Hanako-San fixated on the number three instead.

      @ThorsDecree 3 месяца назад +1

      My roommate's a huge GWAR fan, I think he actually believes he's a descendant of Odorus lol. Hanako + Gwar would be a super cool collab. I'll have to introduce him to her, this is right up his alley. I'm the only one in the house that speaks Japanese, but the language of covering your audience with fluids from within your body is pretty universal and he didn't speak English until about 4 years after moving here from the USSR anyway but that never stopped him from being a hardcore metalhead.
      This is the kind of thing that would be a redeeming quality were I to ever live in Japan. The work culture is downright toxic, I'd probably take my shoes off if I actually had to work there... But some of the various subcultures in Japan are downright magical. I hear from every one of my friends who have lived in Japan that the nightlife is absolutely bonkers.

    The choke photo (which I believe was called Destroy Cheki) is no longer offered. She just played a show at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood on September 1st, her third time performing in the US. She is in a documentary about idols, google "The Flowers of Passion: Stories From the Japanese Underground Idol Scene - Episode 02" to find it.
    If you want to see in her in Japan try to see her at her home venue Heaven's Door if you can. If you do note that she does her merchandise and photos before her set outside the venue. You will see a line up of guys in various Hanakosan shirts lined out outside. She will generally announce a time on her Instagram. Also be prepared to see things that you might find uncomfortable (not from her but from other performers, the venue is pretty much no holds barred, I would not bring children here and I'm not sure if they would allow them, if you want to bring a youngster find any other venue where you are likely to see a more standard idol show).
    It cannot be stressed just how sweet she is when interacting with her fans. Her stage presence and her personal interactions are as far apart as can be.

    Sounds like she discovered the Alice Cooper method. Be insane on stage, and your real self offstage. Alice states it is VERY cathartic.

    I got a ...self termination telephone help line warning on this video. I feel that is a bit excessive.
    She seems fun and I loved the Kamen Rider part. It somewhat parallels what I enjoy about Iyashikei shows so much.
    I saw that her music wasn't on Spotify anymore for some reason, but I definitely want to attend a live show at some point.

    Hanako san is an absolute cutie.I was lucky enough to see her in London in 2019.
    She went clothes shopping, it turns out she is size 12 years, not size 12, 12 years. A tiny ball of energy.

    I'll take expired food over glitter when it comes to venue pollution. I play drums and one gig night all the bands used my kit, since I'd rather play my own over a venue kit. One of the other drummers that night thought it was awesome to bring bags of glitter and completely fill his china with it, so it would spray everywhere each time he hit the china. I was uninformed of this of course. A whole 6 months later I still find glitter shit in my drum bags and on the venue floor. Fuck that guy. This girl seems cool though.

    I'd say it's not all that uncommon for western death metal/metal/rock bands to do things like destroy things on stage, spit water or alcohol out into the crowd, cut themselves, all kinds of wild stuff; it's possible she took inspiration from that, but it's also possible it's just a case of parallel thinking and it's something she thought up on her own. So I'm pretty used to that sort of thing, as someone in the US, but I can see how that might be particularly shocking to a lot of Japanese folks.
    And I'm sure even western performers have been banned from some venues for it too, haha. Especially if they're smaller artists who can't afford to reimburse the venue or something.
