      Used to climb...now an old fat man with a bad back...so I do my mountains on the tube now.
      I knew NZ was beautiful and then came L.O.T.R. but you guys just lay it out there for us all to see.
      NEW climbs on new hills...new names as well..".what mair could a bodie ask for"...cheers.

    Amazing climb, how common is ski touring in the Southern alps?

      ski touring is very common especially for accessing mountains in winter & spring. in summer the snow tends to lock up better allowing easier access on foot, although climbers might use snowshoes depending on conditions

      @@NewZealandAlpineTeam I am based in Calgary and ski touring is big here, but when I was climbing in NZ I never seen it happen.
      I heard of people carrying skis up but not skinning up to access areas.
      Is the NZAT going to come to the rockies anytime in the near future?
