@@djibrilyadd4131 Thanks for reaching out. I guess my question is what would be the benefit and for whom? Its quite challenging to return some place you have never been. The ancestors are all passed away, so while its great to learn the heritage, what would reunification accomplish? I only asking to understand.

@@monifamorgan-bell1516 Hello Monifa Morgan!!! Thanks a lot for your kindness and your question. Why Africa, the motherland should reunite with his childs spared within world ? The childs have the rights to know where their ancestors are coming from. Which roots nourished them soul and them bodies. Their is a cultural legacy that needs to be protected. One proverb is saying if you don't know where to go at least know where you coming from. Benefits will be for whoever will need to serve hisself in the globalized world.

@@monifamorgan-bell1516 Africa need a sight from outside to. A sort of relevant input that can come from a diaspora that is emotionally available for the development of socio cultural projects and others issues possible to enhance. Food, clothes, literature, cross cultural program, politic coalition for youth exchange, religious workshops, and so and so. The platform should be created so that all blacks or even yellow, white, red and blue or in one word the humanity can beneficiate.

Wow! I have been searching for this song for decades with few familiar lyrics, the title and the singer were unknown to me. It brings me joy to stumble upon it here. I am reminded of an exceptional experience I had as a Nigerian in Pikine Tally Boumak Dakar, Senegal in the late 1990s. Senegalese, amazing people with amazing culture. Listening from the UK. 2024 Thanks for uploading.

I remember when Carl Bradshaw (the Jamaican actor playing the teacher in this video) explained that he taught the African dancers in the video the Bogle dance (a Jamaican dance created by Dancehall icon Gerald "Bogle" Levy - RIP). He said they learned the dance (they're doing it in the boat @0:37) quickly.

I saw Baaba Maal perform some of the "Nomad Soul" album and music from other releases live in the pouring rain... a lot of drums (all different kinds) and a beat I felt vibrate through my body. The entire audience was jumping in time to the beat in a pouring rain like I've never seen before or since. Inspiring and memorable!

If any friend of mine should walk into my home to hear me playing this very music, they probably would think of how old- fashioned I truly am I. May I respectfully use this great opportunity to CONGRATULATE brother Baaba Maal. Also the great renowned Rapper. The Amazing beautiful students and the thrilling dancers; all put together to bring out the best in such a song that I will describe as. “ enchanting.” In 1995 or 96, if I am not mistaken, I listened to this music for the first and last time in Nigeria, but didn’t get enough of it. Few weeks ago; probably, early February this year 2023, it came into mind even though I don’t understand Senegalese, I enjoy this music so much. Thanks to all.
