That Rollie thing is an ink blotter. You would sign your name with a fountain pen, and the ink would be wet. You would roll that thing over your signature to blot the ink. On Julie, so many amazing things!!!!! 😊❤😊❤
I was shocked to see you pass by the wooden bunny napkin rings...lol. And THOSE TALL DOLLS !!!! Gorgeous ! Some of those old stuffed monkeys looked like Steiffs. Not sure, but they were nice. The old books got my heart racing. Fabulous haul !
If I had the money I’d walk into that house and say “I’ll take it all!”………..then spend weeks joyfully going through every inch. What a treasure trove❤❤❤
Some gorgeous stuff at this estate sale. You got an amazing haul with the look of it Julie. All that scraps per and the sheet music, what a find. I think I would have had trouble leaving any of it behind lol. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a sale like that, I used to love going to sales like that.
Oh Julie, I loved that old sheet music! So many treasures! That is my cup of tea. I would've had to get that beautiful table for $75! It would've been a lot higher at an antique shop! I wouldn't have any room either, but still!!! 😊
OH I KNEW YOU WERE A CAJUN!!!!!! Yay! I told my husband to listen to your voice and we picked up on your South Louisiana accent. We Cajuns can pick us out of a crowded room:). I’m loving your videos.
Enjoyed your estate sale, especially when you were talking about the little red books, my brother just sent me 10 of them from a hoarder who pasted away and left everything. Had no family and my brother is helping to sell everything for hardly nothing. They live in Vt.
So many wonderful finds. Many times people that buy couches or cushioned chairs at estate sales will pay for them and take the cushions along with them as they go home to get their husband and truck. This is so no one else can purchase them when they go to get a larger vehicle to move the furniture.
It looks so pretty there. Yes its nice here in IL, but the road you traveled is very pretty with the trees on both sides of the road. The 2 baskets were so different and pretty. Couldn't hear you much through the estate sale. Have no favorite because you chose stuff I love. I would frame that pillow cover as an art piece, it is beautiful. Watched from Pekin, IL
I I have a lot of the same interests as you when it comes to old/ vintage /antique . I love going to estate sales, thrift stores, antique shops looking for anything old that intrigues me. I am a doll collector and love those 2 cloth dolls you picked up. I also love old books and have a few I have picked up
Love your estate sales and boy what a good one that was 👏🏻xx. I think the item your not sure of is an ink blotter 🤔 what beautiful finds you have loving the dolls … well in fact I just love it all 😍 😂xxx
The vintage books are a treasure. The dolls look like "boudoir" dolls which were popular in the 1920's. Some were dressed in elaborate outfits and were displayed on beds.
This was an amazing estate sale the crusty books are best of all Ive received my great grandmother's old dark wood bookcase and love finding crusty books to decorate it with❤
That roller thing you wanted to know about is to soak up ink when you used a feather to write with or a real ink pen to blot the wet ink so it doesn't smear.
Hey Julie, I live in VA and it is very beautiful here. I live by a creek and just out my back door is not a bad d view at all, so many colors🤩! I love all the books, I don’t get selection like that at Goodwill!
Too many things that I loved, the item you asked what it was, it is a blotting tool, you put blotting paper on the curved edge and roll it across signatures or writing that was written in ink
Those cloth dolls are really adorable. Look on the body of them to see if they have any markings...they look like Lenci dolls and they are valuable. Great estate sale haul, those books are beautiful!
*Julie, this was a fabulous estate sale❣️😊 I loved the artwork, music sheets and other ephemera you purchased, too‼️ The low crock bowl is a dog's 🐕 water bowl. The crewel pillow cover is another one of my favorites❣️ But I wouldn't make it into a pillow where it could get stained and worn out...I would frame it in a shadow box and hang it as art. 😉 The fabric looks to me like silk. The ink blotter (the thing you asked us to identify) is another one of my favorites...it was made to blot up the excess ink from quill and/or fountain pens. It would look GREAT on someone's desk❣️Of course, I would love to own many of the books, 📚 too - especially the leather-bound ones❣️😉 The end table with the drawer and the coffee table with the ornate base were both keepers and would have gone home with me‼️ I would either make room or sell something I didn't like as much and swap them out, LOL❣️🤣🤣🤣* *I'm in Minnesota and all of the leaves are off of our trees, we have had our first snow - but it melted away in 2 days - temperatures have been in the 30's and 40's here....Brrrr‼️🥶 The weathet you are having in Missouri looks like our September and early October weather. Enjoy it while you can, Julie. 😉😁🤣*
Loved it all! Great pottery , books , textiles , etc . I love , love love the wooden swivel picture frames ! Great furniture , lovely artwork & the rugs were stunning !! Thanks for a great video ! Happy Thanksgiving to you ; your family !💚
Great sale. Yes, please do a haul! So glad you decided to buy what you see at the time. So true that you may not come across a particular item again, so get it now! You got some wonderful books. The curvy thing is an ink blotter, used when writing with fountain pens and inkwells. The blotter keeps the ink from smearing, place over the writing and roll it.
This was amazing. I was surprised at the price of the brushes, seemed pricy to me even at half price. What a great way to get some furniture, the tables and rugs were great.
That Rollie thing is an ink blotter. You would sign your name with a fountain pen, and the ink would be wet. You would roll that thing over your signature to blot the ink. On Julie, so many amazing things!!!!! 😊❤😊❤
You beat me to it. It might need the cloth or felt that actually absorbs the excess ink.
*Yes, you are correct; it is an ink blotter for quill or fountain pens, Julie. 😊*
Or you place a piece of tissue paper between the signature and the blotter so as not to ruin the blotter
They remove the couch and chair cushions to discourage people from sitting on them.
Love the books and scrapbook
Love the old papers...so many beautiful things at that sale. The dolls were amazing...wow, what a find and for a fantastic price.
The old paper!!! 🥰 BE STILL MY HEART!
Love it all!!! The book haul!!! There was a Steiff monkey on the table with the weird Grinch doll.
It's an ink blotter. You rock it across your signature to help keep it from smearing.
The FF marking is Fitz & Floyd,.
If I had the money I’d walk into that house and say “I’ll take it all!”………..then spend weeks joyfully going through every inch. What a treasure trove❤❤❤

It's an ink blotter. When using a fountain pen, the ink will smudge.

The sheet music and the vintage books were my favorite.
Their bookshelves remind me of my parents' book shelves.
Enjoyed your estate sale, especially when you were talking about the little red books, my brother just sent me 10 of them from a hoarder who pasted away and left everything. Had no family and my brother is helping to sell everything for hardly nothing. They live in Vt.

Could spend hours looking at everything in this house. All so pretty!
You have an ink blotter, a very beautiful ink blotter…Very good haul, I’m envious over the books….🌻
I don't know what would be my favorite! Everything is beautiful! Love love the books!!
The white rocking item is an ink blotter. My parents used it to blot ink from fountain pens.
So many wonderful finds. Many times people that buy couches or cushioned chairs at estate sales will pay for them and take the cushions along with them as they go home to get their husband and truck. This is so no one else can purchase them when they go to get a larger vehicle to move the furniture.
That one item is an ink blotter, for signing with a fountain pen, they roll that on it, to pick up any extra ink.
The books!!

The yellow with FF on the bottom is Fitz & Floyd - probably a early piece
All the older books magazines and music books I love that kind of stuff
The vintage books are a treasure. The dolls look like "boudoir" dolls which were popular in the 1920's. Some were dressed in elaborate outfits and were displayed on beds.

That is a ink blotter. When people used pen and ink, that is how they kept the ink from smearing.
