I love this ending not only because the song is relaxing and catchy, but the imagery of the 8th MS Team's characters. You can obviously tell who is behind the camera throughout all of it while Shiro's just trying to have peace to himself. The cast definitely share a close bond, that's for sure.
It's also a beautiful song. A song about someone who wonders if they'll still love each other as much in 10 years as they do today, and what they'll be doing.
This shows perfectly the theme of the show: from a normal soldier's perspective and what life in a war is like for them. No newtypes, no psychics, just genuine soldiers trying to survive a war.
I think he means the impact of newtypes are minimal in this series, no one mary sue dictates the entire engagement, its just soldier vs soldier, up until the final part at least

The 1st Neo Zeon War had ended sometime before the end of U.C.0089, so yes, there would be somewhat peace around that time? LOL. Of course, the 2nd Neo Zeon War shown at the CCA movie would occur few years later.

But this is an anime afterall and the ed credit is like an eye candy for fantasy pleasure just like so many other animes ending...they are meant to leave the audience in imagination....moreover, the fact that you would like to think shes Kiki is because you dont understand this songs lyrics...

This brings back memories. They really should have made more like this and War in the Pocket, more realistic, not so many aces and all. The sad thing about Gundam was all the really good ones (08th MS, War in the Pocket, 0083) where short and the rest where so long.
mind u is i was focusing on destiny mainly, seeing how i start with shin and athrun, and i am also saying the character and the story ending perhaps could be better if that producer didnt go personal with the seiyuu of shin and cagali

Agreed. I think GS and GSD have their childish moments but still try to mimic what the original intended. I still think the original UC series is better than the new ones, but I did enjoy parts of GS and GSD.
