This brings so much clarity as to why Barbri compared us to our colleagues. So long as we're on par with others, it's likely we will pass

Nope, not what he's saying at all. Being median compared to a February cohort will typically put you at about 50-50 to pass. Being median compared to a July cohort will mean you have a much higher chance of passing -- because the cohort is stronger (which means if you're at median with it, you're also stronger) and the NCBE is able to identify that and set its scaling appropriately.

Thank you it was exceptionally helpful, so the 131.1 MBE on Feb 2023 bar (lowest since 1976) might have been because the exam was perceived to be too easy, due to the equated group of questions having say a 135, the non-equated group possibly a 139, lowering the mean to 131.1 (approximately). Someone who wrote MBE questions on another video also indicated-this is interesting-a right answer and 3 "distractors". The other 3 wrong answers are all made up as distractors-thanks to all of those that write questions and do this. Why? not sure. Is this testing knowledge or how to trick someone. MPRE is probably the worst for that also. I only had an 87 on that one but who cares, it is a pass in every state.

So for example, if the MBE mean was a 132 and the MEE and MPT are scaled to that, then someone who hits the mean on both could still fail in a jurisdiction that requires above a 264 even though they did average? If this is true, then how do states maintain generally consistent pass rates?

It is more or less luck if the averages are lowered or raised; it depends on whether the means are higher or lower and the scores raised/lowered. State averages really are irrelevant, it is the national means that matter.

Is the MEE scaled to the raw or scaled MBE score?

Does mbe scale process translate to the individual student or only to the group. For instance if I score 60% on the equator and 64% on the others question s will my scale be different than my peer or is this always based on the entire population

Hi! The scaling is calculated by the mass results rather than individually.
