My brother has a 150lb. male Boerboel. These dogs are no joke. Don't even think about approaching one you don't know. These dogs are fearless and like to show dominance.
They ain't weak I'll have you know, Yeah, sure they can be loving but our girl would go crazy if the time came. Anyone go near our other dogs, us or the baby in the house, they going down. But she is also the most loyal, adoring creature.
+ino mbo nope. my boerboel scared me sometimes but as long as you show dominance then your fine. they are strong and fearless dogs. they are champion breeds
One of the best Boerboel introductions i have seen so far on youtube :-). Only facts and honest towards possible owners. This is one of the breeds where 'think twice before you own' is very much in place.
Boerboels are not for everybody, but for me they are life. I don't think the 10-12 year lifespan is correct, though. My Boerboel is 14-years-old and going strong. He tops the scales at 200-lbs, too. He is retired, but was a great guard dog, watchdog, obedience competitor, knew 26 different tricks, would herd goats, tracked game, competed in weight pulling, loved carting, competed in agility and even did lure coursing. He is still a great guard dog, but is retired from competition. I believe his long life and excellent health comes from a good breeder (bred for work, not show) and the fact that I feed him a raw diet.
I love your comments. I have a 15-month old Boerboel, my first. I am truly in love with the breed. I also have two Standard Poodles. I feed them all a raw diet. Not many people know of this breed but it will spread quickly I am sure. My only hope is the breed is not destroyed by back alley breeding. You dog is blessed by the tricks you taught him. Mine is just a house dog who is loved and gives love. Thank you for your thoughts.
Out of all of the dogs I've had the boerboel is the best all around dog. Very dominate but great with all kids and family. Not a high prey drive but definitely definisive. For a family guardian with space and a dominate owner there is nothing better.
I've always had labs, which I used for hunting of course. Because of a physical disability,I just couldn't anymore. Found mine in the paper, he was the runt. Picked him up for 400.00 the runt stuff meant nothing to me. Every one knows the lab, how loving they are. Didn't know that there could even be a more loving dog. Till I met my boy Titus. He's 8 now and can't even put my head around the thought of him being gone someday. As far as " runt " goes, he filled out to a sleek 120lbs.
I love your video. I miss my two Boerboels, and I am planning to get two more soon. They lived until they were 14 and 16. (Attie Badenhorst was their breeder) They are THE BEST dogs I have ever owned. They are NOT fighting dogs. They are good guard dogs, very smart and lovable.Zeke this is a wonderful educational video. Tugs at the old heartstrings. I never had any problems with Sefu or Kenya. They lived in Army quarters and later, when we moved back to the US, in our backyard. They were always the talk of the town where ever we took them, once even to Spring Break in Daytona, where they really were the most popular thing there! Everybody wanted a picture with them. Everybody wanted to know about them. They were admired and loved by everyone who got a chance to meet them. They always passed temperament tests, and traveled well. I really do miss them. No other dog compares to them. No...not one.
I owned one for 10 years and she was the best dog I have ever owned. Extremely loyal and protective, the best guard dog I have ever had. I recently got another boerboel puppy once you own this breed you can't stop, best breed ever
This was the best short documentary that I have seen in years about Boerboels . I have one he is my best friend . He will be 4 years old this year.....
EXTREMELY powerful dog.Complex disposition.Do not even THINK of approaching one unless you have taken PLENTY of time getting to know one.Even then, don't initiate physical greetings.Let them greet you.
Thank you, Zeke. Well done and so true. The dogs in this video are beautiful examples of the breed. I own a boerboel -- a "velcro dog" who prefers to stay by me. They're wonderful, but require vigilant and considerate owners. Early and consistent training is best for any dog, but mandatory for such a powerful, intelligent animal. Because they're so strong, voice control is a must. Boerboels respond best to positive-reinforcement training like NILIF ("nothing in life is free"). If you're looking to own one, find a breeder whose top priority is temperament. They DO get big! :)
I own two boereboels. Male and female. They are only 18 months and already they're big, specially the male. We bought them in a farm 200KM from East London, Eastern Cape, where they breed them. They are obedient animals. Except around strangers, they lose their sh*t quickly.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the narrator’s educative effort regarding the breeds power and not leaving small children alone with ANY powerful breed. But I’ve seen a chihuahua go terminator on a 5 yr old. Regardless, people buy powerful breeds, do not train them, turn on the dogs aggression drive (it’s in all dogs) never teaching them to shut it off, then blame the dogs for their instinct! SMH! IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF DOING THE WORK WITH a DOGS SPECIFIC NEEDS, ITS ABUSE, DO NOT BUY THE BREED! There needs to be stricter buying rules for humans.
Cecelia mine used to babysit all the time. Kids wake up at 5:30am and want to watch cartoons. I’d come down at 7 and find all three of them using her as a pillow while she watched the door (she would always be facing the front door because that’s where the threat is likely to come from). She’d tell them off when they argue, cuddle them at nap time, play all day long and when my son escaped when he was 18 months old she was first after him barking like there’s no tomorrow. Wolves see looking after the young as a whole pack activity. There are no formal mother and father roles and even the previous years littler will take their turn looking after this years cubs. Dogs think exactly the same way. The mastiff guard duty is an absolute concept. It’s her job to make sure no harm comes to them even if they are trying to shove a Lego brick in her ear. She used to confiscate any toys being used as weapons. These dogs thrive on responsibility and there is no way they’d consider breaking that trust once they know they have it.
A Dogo Argentino has a bit higher energy than a Boerboel the Boerboel because of its overall weight does that. A Boerboel can overwhelm physically in any one or thing in an attack by all matter by the way.
Love the video's and would like to see something on the Tosa Inu or more on the Dogo Argentino maybe on the hunt for wild board. Many thanks from a big fan!
That's very possible if they're raised together. We had a cat that would go outside and lay in the sun with our boerboel and the dog would groom her and play with her

Nope! I love American Bullies but never were they my favorite breed. Actually my favorite breed fluctuates from time to time. Mostly between APBT and Boerboels or some other short haired mastiff. Boerboels never drop out of the top 2 positions though.
blæhh. Me and my dog was attacked by two of these dogs.. The owner was pulled to to ground and dropped the leashes.. barely managed to throw my dog over its mouth as it slid by (my dog is jack r size).. the owner managed to get to the male dog when it was trying to turn around on the ground.. i silently moved away when they wrestled on the ground. Very scary situation, the other female dog apparently just followed the male and did nothing when the owner wrestled the male. THESE DOGS ARE NOT FOR IDIOTS TO BUY.. If you are a alcoholic, drug addict, criminal, or someone with a need to have a big dog for bragging rights.. Dont buy this fucking dog.. Only competent people should own this dog. And by competent i mean actual experience in dog training and big dogs.. not a imaginary thing like you cant handle it, or some idiotic dog expert with zero actual experience.
Couldn't agree more, these dogs are not for inexperience people or people who want to look badass because they have a big dog. I saw a comment on another video of a guy who bought this dog as a first time dog owner and the dog attacked 3 of his friends. If people don't know what they're doing with this dog its gonna show and that not gonna be very pleasant
True, majestic dog but not a dog for anyone or everyone , not a rotweiller , pitbull or german shepard like dog that most people think they can own Some BB’s grow up to be 100kg+ , if bigger than 100kg(220 pounds) they cant be a show dog. This dog will own the owner if you dont know what you are doing , remember this beast can weight almost double that of your average Dogo Argentenia eventhough the BB is seen as the most agile mastiff breed. So imagine a 200 pound Dogo Argentinia but one that can move faster than a 110 pound Dogo. A Dogo is in any case way too much dog for me as a dog lover, just like the Boerboel.
I own one. He is not fully grown but he is very powerful. I am going to get another. He needs alot of exercise, and a back yard would be nice. Mine is excellent with children. I do have in training. if he senses danger he shields me, by standing in front of me.
Boerboels are very impressive dogs, but neither the Boerboel or Kangal is a match for the Caucasian Ovcharka, IMO. The CO is infamous for being almost insanely aggressive towards both other dogs and people, and having a dog that can weigh up to 220 pounds with that kind of fearlessness and ferocity is a scary proposition.
Mike S The orvcharka is too big and will tire out in a fight. This is not the case with the kangal, its a very agile (for a big dog), just as big and genetically has better cardio. So I don't think it'll lose to a orvcharka.
The BB is aggresive but luckily his power can be somewhat managed , any dog like the CO which is uncontrolable should rather be in a cage , otherwise its like a child with an Ak-47 , I dont want any dog like that.
I've already seen this breed going out of shape and to loose and sloppy it should be rock hard this dog worked on a farm all day every day holding down big hogs etc etc and people are already spoiling hundreds of years breeding just like they did to the bulldog, bull terrier just to name two other breeds they've ruined
My brother has a 150lb. male Boerboel. These dogs are no joke. Don't even think about approaching one you don't know. These dogs are fearless and like to show dominance.

That’s a beautiful powerful dog. Too much for me to handle though.
I have one I just got it before 2 days ago
The Farmers would never encourage dog fighting. The dogs had to work in teams. A fighting dog is useless to them.
awesome dogs! awesome video! chur my bro, from New Zealand
Thank you for your great work!
As a single woman... best dog ever.
Yes and your boyfriend should be very careful. I do not know why but they love to protect woman and children. And they take it very seriosly.

Yes, to those who understand, very different in many ways to the Bullmastiff.
Amazing dogs.
Most beautiful Boerboels! Who is the breeder for them? Is the breeder in South Africa?
This is a great dog
They are quite popular in my country. I don't get why they are rare. I had a Rottweiler-Boerboel cross once. She was a lovely dog!
I own a boerboel/rottweiler mix and he is a great dog but he is a lot of work, very dominant/territorial and protective. He won't bite someone if we invite them in the yard but while the person is still outside at the gate he goes crazy so 99% of people that come to our house won't come in if we don't put the dog away

I took in a 4yr old male and he has severe separation anxiety. Is this normal for this breed?
Did you adopt him ??
Not really

There are only two breeders in So Cal and neither wants to make time for filming. So until I start traveling out of California there will be no Fila videos. But it is a breed I'd love to film so it will happen as soon as the opportunity arises.
If I don’t have a farm what can it do for stuff to do
Play fetch and walk your dog, they aren't the most energetic dogs around but they do need at least 30 min excersize a day
Well said 👌🏼 great breed.

Fool
Please do Belgian Malinois next
I own one. He is not fully grown but he is very powerful. I am going to get another. He needs alot of exercise, and a back yard would be nice. Mine is excellent with children. I do have in training. if he senses danger he shields me, by standing in front of me.
Quinn Q stronger than rottys
Awesome
How much for one pupy?
3000 from a good breeder
Video in China where a kangal was beating up a presa for 5 min. but once the presa got a neck hold, lights out.
Disgusting video
Boerboels are very impressive dogs, but neither the Boerboel or Kangal is a match for the Caucasian Ovcharka, IMO. The CO is infamous for being almost insanely aggressive towards both other dogs and people, and having a dog that can weigh up to 220 pounds with that kind of fearlessness and ferocity is a scary proposition.
And need by people with have big mouth, no muscles and very small penis outside of Russia!
Mike S The orvcharka is too big and will tire out in a fight. This is not the case with the kangal, its a very agile (for a big dog), just as big and genetically has better cardio. So I don't think it'll lose to a orvcharka.
Only when any of these breeds are bred and owned by bad people i have seen sweet loving specimens
The BB is aggresive but luckily his power can be somewhat managed , any dog like the CO which is uncontrolable should rather be in a cage , otherwise its like a child with an Ak-47 , I dont want any dog like that.
+bullybadasstv you should do more on the mastiff's breed
do the Portuguese Fila next
too rare in the US
I thought no one has a worse voice than mine
Beautiful breed. I want to get one soon. But docking the tail is disgusting and disturbing and very hard to look at.
MY FAV... TO BAD THIS NOT SO KNOWN IN FINLAND
I got one in London UK tie up and left out side a gate for to day
Where the new shit at
I've already seen this breed going out of shape and to loose and sloppy it should be rock hard this dog worked on a farm all day every day holding down big hogs etc etc and people are already spoiling hundreds of years breeding just like they did to the bulldog, bull terrier just to name two other breeds they've ruined
very good video.. it is very difficult to understand to the guy speaking.
