One of the most moving performances EVER by Steve and Adam. Phil simply having deliberately moved next to Ian to comfort him, Ian shaking and apologising like Phil was gonna hurt him and Phil just simply checking TWICE if Ian was okay? After all those years of hatred, finally the feud, the HATE just ends and Phil... OH Phil has just come on leaps and bounds when it comes to actually giving a shit about others... Even those he didn't care for one bit... He's an absolute BEAUT of a character... All emotions from love to hate, drunk to soberly dying at one point, sincere to satire with some of the most hilarious one liners, the angry & HELLA scary yeller and "thuggly" brute to being snuggly and cute, anger to laughter... And the best at playing a drunk person (along with Linda Henry IMO)... And one of the only characters that make you cry, when they cry... All the possible emotions/feelings and the most complex & "hate to love" character played by one of the most kind, sweet actors EVER! LOVE YOU, STEVE! EE wouldn't be right without you! Sorry... If your haveing a bit of a rough ride in your own Earthly life it can really bring you to a emotional state, and seeing this scene did just that. A real credit to Eastender's Steve and Adam are because the soap has lost it's edge for me and no where near as good as it use to be.
Phil is Stepfather To Ian Because He Was Married To Kathy She Used Married To Pete Beale That His Dad So That Make Ian is Stepson For Phil Ian Takes Dislike Him Years Ago When He Was Young Boy He Used To Hate Him and Ian Half Brother is Ben They're Got Same Mum Kathy Phil Was His Son When Ian Was Giving His Daughter Lucy Just Passed On He Was Devastated When She Died So Phil Come See Ian He Was Crying Eyes Out Lucy Had Died Ian Put His Head Phil Shoulder Than Hugging Him and Phil Was Crying He Was Going To Ian Hug Him
If this was 2000-2003, Phil would have revelled in every minute of it if Ian had lost one of his children. He allowed Ian to go bankrupt in late 2000, as he wanted to make him pay for grassing Lisa up, and for every other time Ian shafted him.
No he wouldn’t Phil is not heartless, not lending someone money so they go bankrupt and enjoying the fact that their child is dead is not on the same level.
Probably the most moving scene in soap history. After all the years of hatred it boiled down to this.
