I have made a point to go see Boz anytime he's local. And by local I mean, traveling 200 miles one way is not a problem. He's my man, my music man! Never has he disappointed me. Each time I see him I always come home and tell everyone it was his best performance. I've seen him over 25 times. He's phenomenal, a true master of his music. Thank you Boz for still blessing us with your performances. Just

I am such a huge Boz Scaggs fan, with his silky pure voice, I never tire of listening to him. It brings back beautiful memories of growing up in a kinder world. I only wish I could have seen him in concert, just love his Middle Man album especially Jo Jo, Simone, Breakdown Dead Ahead - and that cover so sassy!
Phew and he lost his son who took an overdose.
Been into the Boz man since 1976. Got to give kudo's to all the musicians and backup singers who do a great job of emulating the studio version of Lowdown to perfection. Just like Jeff Lynne and ELO, I love it when they keep it original.

Wow! Can you believe I had been twice (July 8th and 9th, 1988) in this Live at BUDOKAN, TOKYO, Japan? On July 9th, FM TOKYO also broadcasted his LIVE as "Saturday Special" and I got a full recording by my audio sets. It is still one of my wonderful collections. Now I am living in California more than 20 years and always enjoy BOZ's tours whenever those are available!!
I just bought tickets to Boz coming up on June 10th, 2022 at The Smith Center in Las Vegas. I am so excited and obsessed, I can't stop watching and listening to him. He's still got it and I can't wait to see him live.

Boz will forever play in my head with that unforgettable voice. His music lends itself to eine kleine Nachtmusik to play in my head in moments of sincere romantic thoughts. He is timeless and totally unique, the pure essence of white soul. Thanks Boz for taking me on that journey with you, the one only cloud riders could appreciare ! A friend always !

I was raised in USA listening to Boz, 3rd generation Japanese American. I happened to be at this concert in 1988 in Tokyo🎉 but can’t tell if it was this specific date. I also went to Blue Note Tokyo too🎉❤
and it's 1976 and I'm young and in college on the East Coast and I'm filling a wine glass and I'm groovin' and dancing 'bout the place...and life is good...and my husband "wonders who put those ideas in her head..."

Ya Silk Degrees, what a fabulous and timeless album! Can’t remember exactly what year it was released (‘76?, ‘77?) but dancing to Lowdown and a slow dance to Harbor Lights at Jr Prom was something I definitely do remember.
I love Boz Scaggs What a magnificent talented artist I never got to see him in concert and this is the next thing

Bozz hit big in the '70's, and it wasn't too easy to put his music in a specific category. It wasn't just pop...it wasn't disco, some songs had disco elements...it finally got a "Blues rock" or "Soft blues rock". This doesn't get it. I call it "Urban pop"...but really it's "Bozz Scagg" music.

Excellent performance & very good musicianship, great band, very faithful to the record, and Boz did a spot-on vocal performance. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear it was lip-sync, but you can tell it's completely live if you pay attention to the nuances.

Lido at about 32 mins is still the best ever imo.. a rather quaint version but then again the Japanese are very polite!

This is great too, a decent A but it's not A++ like the other concerts on Boz here on the Tube. The background vocals and the band isn't as good as the others. Decent but not as good, though it could just be the acoustics for one it seems to not have a deep enough bass and percussions in the songs?
To be fair, I cannot imagine the late-Eighties was a great time for Boz, Silk Degrees was a 1976 album, after a flop follow-up, Middle Man was almost considered a comeback record in 1981, and this concert was 7 years later, I doubt he was playing arenas on the domestic leg of this tour, was he still on Columbia Records at that point? That's why it kind of sounds like he's fronting his own cover band, sadly.
Didn't consider that. I bet you're correct. It's still very good but if you find some of his other clips, they're better.
His 2004 lineup was ultra tight. Boz also sang better in 2004, even if he sounded slightly older than the studio versions.
