Toccata Joaquin Rodrigo Xavier Jara, guitar Boston Guitarfest 2015 Fenway Center, Northeastern University; June 17, 2015 Video and audio production by Brian Dixon
Winner of the GFA International Concert Artist Competition for 2016. I was there! What a magnificent performance he gave in the finals, one could see and hear the passion he felt for the music. His career is launched, as well as it should be.
This is beautiful. Always a good deep strong sound. True, on the edge of the possible technically, but his mastery is such that we can forget it, and appreciate the music
Can he rock? lol Was most impress with the even full breath and breadth he allowed the lower register. A deep release of the haunting interplay of overtones which imho were the genesis of this particular work.
Okay kid.. your skill borders on leprechaun magic!!! And the long pause at the end just confirming my suspicions! Ha! Wait a minute that wasn't a long pause, I accidently hit pause cuz I've had 4Yuwnlings... Of well, it was cool though... Think about it! It was right as you did that last Bartok pizz. and your arm was way out.... I thought you did it for effect.. It was cool! Lol
Im going to put my guitar down now... I don't know what the hell was wrong with me... I thought I could play ok.... but not after seeing that...Im best to use it for a coffee table or something... I give up.... :-)
That ending is more metal than the entire contemporary metal industry
This is a perfect interpretation of a beautiful and extremely difficult piece, how can it even have disklikes?
Saw him indy a few years ago. No surprise at his astonishing dedication and I thank him for bringing such fire and beauty.
Seriously one of the most amazing guitarists I've had the pleasure of listening to on youtube !!!
Amazing playing of a piece at the edge of the possible and impossible. 👌
the bar has officially been raised. This is so amazing.
Impeccable playing. Making the very difficult look easy.

The left hand is absolutely flawless
I didn't see/hear any problem with the right hand either. Did your?
I mean it's a little been up, he should try and straighten it. But we all know he's going for that beautiful tone, and seems to have it.
@John Strozzi So...I mean, I don't understand why you would say that.
@John Strozzi well yeah, another great thing about our great country, fools are more than free to expose their foolishness! HA (Terry)!
@John Strozzi by the way, thanks for helping me to grow a little here!
Es impresionante cómo siente la música, técnicamente y musicalmente está a un nivel increíble.

great playing. the most elaborate rodrigo pieces are very hard stuff.
Extraordinaire !
You're either born a guitarist or not............and he was. The majority can never be taught to ever reach this level of excellence at his age.

Toccata Rodrigo pdf, en google
If I were to dare to compare my playing to his I would drive home and destroy my guitars. Instead, I'll just sit here and marvel at his talent.
