It's really weird that Druze are considered a distinct ethnic group, when they're actually Arabs who follow a distinct religion. Otherwise they're culturally, and linguistically indistinguishable from Lebanese/Palestinians/Syrians. Politics is what drove them to this unique position they have
Druze are an ethnoreligious group, and they've been so for the majority of their history. Calling them a distinct ethnic group isn't that crazy when they are endogamous, require both parents to be Druze, and don't even allow outsiders to join. And, religion is a part of culture, so they're not culturally indistinct from their Muslim neighbors.

Is this the group you chose to show us or all the others were like these? Incredible they only think of them as soldiers with Israel and that’s an X over their heads.
The conscription of Druze in the dhimmi forces is the worst offense and propitious of these puffery. We are DRUZE. First and foremost. Our loyalty is to each other and our lands. The fact less than 10% of our people are used to represent a general consensus couldn’t be even further than the truth. We are all Syrian Lebanese or Jordanian.
If you are Druze, of course you should know but everything I have ever read says that the Druze are patriotic and defend whatever country they live in.
Why do you call the Israeli army the dhimmi force? You say you are a Druze. A dhimmi is a non-Muslim in a Muslim country. Firstly, why would a Druze use this word? Historically, the relations between Muslims and Druze have been bad. That is why the Druze took refuge in the mountains. Even today, Muslims consider Druze to be Kafirs (Muslim heretics). It would be higher status for a Druze to be dhimmi rather than kafir. Secondly, Israel is a Jewish country, do dhimmi isn't even applicable.
The person asking the questions is ignorant. He was putting words in the mouths of the Palestinians as if to spark a negative feeling towards the Druz. Shame on you!
notice how in arabic it is Diema Deruzea, that means they consider them (under Sharia law) as Dimies, that means they too would need to pay the Jezia while being humiliated (like craling on the ground to get to the tax collector and to get a kick for his efforts)
So what's the problem with Jezia? Muslims pay zakat, as its form of worship. Non muslims pay Jezia because they're not muslims and Jezia is lesser tax.
Druze wouldn’t pay jizya. They would be killed as heretics because they believe there was a prophet after Mohammed. And Muslim tax collectors would live off the jizya it’s not less than what Muslims would have to pay
As an Israeli Jew I can say that Druze are not to be trusted They support the strong, that is what their religiong teaches During the war of independence they sided with the Arabs but switched sides when Israel started to win Due to very long exile, many Jews have this desire for appreciation, and are keen to call "brother" and embrace whoever is friendly, forgetting that in our world there is very little sincere friendship, especially on a national level In terms of culture and mentality, well mostly typical Arabic culture, but more militaristic and more organized...different religion. During the Druze revolt in 19 century raped half of Jewish Tzfat, whatever you say about that. Anyway Druze treat Israel well and therefore deserve a good treatment. Not beyond that
We have an alliance with them and we should keep it. Btw they didn't just rape; they massacred. The Turks afterwards decapitated all the Druze who harmed the Jews.
Btw, I did not know about that attack. Wikipedia suggests that Arabs (their descendants could be Palestinian refugees now in Lebanon or Syria) helped some of the Jews attacked in Safad. How ironic.
The only reason the Druze in Israel have historically sided with the Jews is because they understood the Jews were stronger than the Arabs Before the war of independence they were no great supporters of the Jews It is a basic tenet of their philosophy to side with the stronger party They would switch allegiances in 5 seconds if it served their interests
your comment sounds like that the muslim rulers who were before israel espascially (mamluks and ottomans) were very tolerant with them 1- Druze are ARABS more than a lot of muslims in syria lebanon and palestine 2- if you want to blame them for being in the side of israel just take an unbaised look at your History ,read about what ibn taimmeah said about them and how the mamluks Army wanted to GENOCIDE them because of ibn taimmeah calls against them 3- Druze did not fight israel because the israelis were focusing on the main cities like Jerusalem and jaffa ......and the Druze used to live in the Mountains to save thier lives from the islamic persecution 4- the israeli Rule ( jewish Rule) is the first Rule to respect the Druze and treat them like humans im not defending Israel but just saying the Truth

@@justinstewart4889 most Druzes have little knowledge about their own faith (only a minority have been educated about Druze theology), and their food, language, customs are no different from their Sunni, Shia, Christian neighbours. I'm a Lebanese Muslim, I know several Druze and their is absolutely nothing distinguishing them from me, appart from their religion (and they know little about it to begin with). Even historically, when the Druze faith began (before they banned conversions) early converts were Christians and Muslims, and throughout history many Druze have converted to Islam and Christianity. While interfaith marriage are prohibited by Druze teachings, it doesn't mean that they don't happen, my cousin married a Druze man, and she most certainly wasn't the first in history to do so.

If you asked about the Druz in the USA, most people would say they do not know anything, even where they live.
notice how in arabic it is Diema Deruzea, that means they consider them (under Sharia law) as Dimies, that means they too would need to pay the Jezia while being humiliated (like craling on the ground to get to the tax collector and to get a kick for his efforts)
So what's the problem with Jezia? Muslims pay zakat, as its form of worship. Non muslims pay Jezia because they're not muslims and Jezia is lesser tax.

People , in that part of the world , have long memories , and won’t forget .
The Druze are smart ❤
As a culture and an ideology, Druze "back" whichever country they reside in, because their connection is to the land
Druze are incredible People, their culture carries and transmits a lot of Respect to each other and to others.
can you please israelis the same question?☺

He did two years prior
They seem to know very little about the Druze.
These people being questioned are not too bright. 😂
תשאל את התושבים בג'נין..
הדרוזים משרתים בצבא ונאמנים למדינה הם בוודאי לא סובלים את הפלסטינים (יותר מהיהודים דרך אגב)
Ofc they dont the palestinians are a reminder of their former alligence. They ”loved ” great syria, later palestine and now Israel.
we are with palestine
A lot of people have a tough time distinguishing between religion and ethnicity I see
Druze are an ethnoreligious group
@@shebsheb8850 is that so? Clarify their native tongue for me then.
@@2ruehenderson so you are aware all ar abs came from ar abia. Good.
@@dogbert52 you don’t have a clear understanding what the word native means, do you?
@@2ruehenderson ar abs = natives of ar abia , where their language was formed.
As an Israeli Jew I can say that Druze are not to be trusted
They support the strong, that is what their religiong teaches
During the war of independence they sided with the Arabs but switched sides when Israel started to win
Due to very long exile, many Jews have this desire for appreciation, and are keen to call "brother" and embrace whoever is friendly, forgetting that in our world there is very little sincere friendship, especially on a national level
In terms of culture and mentality, well mostly typical Arabic culture, but more militaristic and more organized...different religion.
So they are like jews. That explain why the love eachother.
Why do you generalize that over the current Druze? There are Jews who have reported other Jews to the Nazis as far as I know from history.
Btw, I did not know about that attack. Wikipedia suggests that Arabs (their descendants could be Palestinian refugees now in Lebanon or Syria) helped some of the Jews attacked in Safad. How ironic.
@@cellfreezer0 The Jews supported Singapore when they had nothing
Arabic education lol
It's weird they don't know anything about them. I'm in California and know about the Druze.
The only reason the Druze in Israel have historically sided with the Jews is because they understood the Jews were stronger than the Arabs
Before the war of independence they were no great supporters of the Jews
It is a basic tenet of their philosophy to side with the stronger party
They would switch allegiances in 5 seconds if it served their interests
Probably a smart strategy if you are a minority anywhere and definitely in the middle east. The fact that they survived is pretty remarkable.
your comment sounds like that the muslim rulers who were before israel espascially (mamluks and ottomans) were very tolerant with them
1- Druze are ARABS more than a lot of muslims in syria lebanon and palestine
2- if you want to blame them for being in the side of israel just take an unbaised look at your History ,read about what ibn taimmeah said about them and how the mamluks Army wanted to GENOCIDE them because of ibn taimmeah calls against them
3- Druze did not fight israel because the israelis were focusing on the main cities like Jerusalem and jaffa ......and the Druze used to live in the Mountains to save thier lives from the islamic persecution
4- the israeli Rule ( jewish Rule) is the first Rule to respect the Druze and treat them like humans
im not defending Israel but just saying the Truth
@@TheShacharZivChristians do not? Or even Shiites
Historically not proven 🤣... They stick to themselves and don't need nobody but Id they had to choose they would choose the more diplomatic side
I think it's clear that they have a survivalist mentality.
