Congrats to the Sooners from a WVU alum......a great game and the best team won. Good luck in the conference championship game against Texas.
On a side note - I think we both need to work on our defenses.

Yup the best team won...the officials, directly responsible for a 14 point swing in favor of the Sooners. Big guns Mike and his officiating team from Texas just cannot allow WV to be in the conversation. Sad. It's not Oklahoma's fault but they were not the best team that day.

Quite a thriller. I just love Lincoln Riley's offense, admiring it during the Ordeal that is NYC March 30th. Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts, I'm admiring progression of Riley and reading Ian Boyd's "flyover football' about the Big12's scheme evolution. this is what happens when you go for it on 4th and 6 from your own 10 yard line and dont take the 3 points in a close game and then on top of that you run a play where the only option is to throw a jump ball in the end zone...wow....how do some of these coaches get hired to at big schools like this...i know JV high school coaches better than WVa's coach....if i was on the team i'd be pissed and if i was a recruit i would be going somewhere else....and the announcers say the coach knows that field goals arent going to win this game hahaha that is the dumbest thing ive ever heard someone say about a football game...points are what win you the game and everyone knew this was going to be a close game because of how bad both teams defenses are so you have to take every point you can get and not make stupid choices that cost you even 3 points....he kicks that field goal and they might have won this game.....and im not a fan of either of these teams they are both terrible in my opinion and Oklahoma has no business bein in the playoff Bama seriously might put up 100 on their defense just wanted to clear that up so it doesnt sound like im salty WVa fan for losing or a Oklahoma fan trying to talk shit for winning.....

Tape doesnt lie. Pick play on David long by #4 Serman on Browns TD
Hold [ OU guard actually tackled the LB]on Kylers long TD run
Defense made contact first with Sills on Jennings TD they took away for PI.
Fumble on kickoff was clearly moving
    Oklahoma targeted Marcus Sims
Oklahoma also blocked out of bounds on a long TD run But was never called
An OU player push the ref in the 3rd
quarter . That's 3 TDs taken off the board with the non SP fumble.
I screenshoted 15 times the linesman spotted the ball back a half yard. FIFTEEN TIMES! F THIS LEAGUE if I was a coach it would just be blood sport!

OU needs an athletic defense, especially at the D-line positions, which has been lost over the last several years. Texas has embraced this forgotten concept and is now controlling the line of scrimmage against B12 opponents.
    *Tackles*
What can you say...OU lacks athletic talent at this position! We need length, strength, and speed. OU's tackles used to be all of those things, but for some reason they've embraced the gap filler model, big, slow and unathletic, which is the main reason we can never get pressure on the opposing QB, fail to make stops on third and long, get zero pressure with a 4-man or 3-man front, and never get a goal line or red zone stop...almost zero stops this season!
*OU needs 6'-4 or 6'-5" @ 305lbs tackles, this is the future prototype tackles OU needs to be moving towards.*
    *Defensive ends*
OU needs length and strength! Athletic bigger guys, OU is primarily using linebackers for defensive ends. Thus the reason they get pushed off the ball and fail to stop anyone in the red zone or make critical third and long stops...absolutely no pressure is generated on the opposing QB. The 3-man front has zero effect as well, the opposing QB simply waits until a WR of RB comes open. Length and strength are desperately needed for OU's future defense. Otherwise, it's just more of the same...hope you can outscore the other team while hoping for an official to make a call that places the opposing team in third and long...this is not a smart strategy!
*OU Needs 6'-4" or 6'-5" @ 260lb - 270lbs defensive ends, this is the prototype defensive end OU needs to be moving towards.*
    *Linebackers*
Same as the ends and tackles, the current linebackers are athletic but lack size especially in the middle. 6'-3" or 6'-4" 255lbs (Mike) and 6'-2" or 6'-3" 235lbs Weak-side and strong-side backers. An emphasis needs to be placed on the middle linebacker position, which needs to be smart and not just athletic. Kenneth Murray is athletic but lacks real football IQ for the Mike position, he is simply out of position or reactionary rather than anticipating and dissecting the plays far too often. Simply watch an OU game and focus on #9, you will see him placing himself or the line out of play far too often. The MIke is the defensive QB, and he just seems to wait for the play to develop, relying on his athletic speed to run to the play rather than anticipating where the play is going. Watch the Mike for Ohio State... excellent linebacker, smart, seldom out of position, but not an overly athletic guy.
*OU needs 6'-3" or 6'-4" @ 255lbs mike prototype linebacker. A smart Mike Backer is needed!
    *OU needs 6'-2" or 6'-3" @ 235lbs - 245lbs for the weak-side and strong-side athletic and fast linebackers.*
    *D-Backs (Corners & Safties)*
OU needs length and strength and speed, which is the key at these positions. We need to be able to apply pressure at the line on the larger B12 receivers and also contend for the position on routes. Our guys seemly get outmuscled and end up grabbing for 15-yard penalties, or they simply give up the big plays. Our safeties are too small and can't seem to tackle the bigger receivers and running backs. The opposing players have almost no fear of taking a big shot when going for the ball anywhere on the field. RB's simple run over our corners and safeties who go for shoelace level tackles to avoid getting hurt.
    *OU needs 6'-0" or 6'-2" @ 205lbs - 215lbs corners.*
    *OU needs 6'-0" or 6-2' @ 220lbs - 225lbs safeties.*
Many may disagree with my assessment, but I would argue that the top ACC, SEC, and B10 teams seem to field these types of defensive units, so OU shouldn't have a problem doing it either. The B12 has some of the best offenses in college football, but they also have the worst, or near worst, defenses. OU was a leader in offensive creativity, but now change is needed defensively at OU and the B12 in general. The team or teams that make the transition first is likely going to dominate the B12 for the foreseeable future. Texas has taken the lead in this transition...simply look at their D-line, it has improved throughout the year and is now controlling the other B12 teams time of position, run stops, etc. OU needs to make a major push in the offseason, starting with an entirely new defensive coaching staff, or plan on taking a back seat to the other teams that make the changes mentioned.

Well they should just go and get them then....so easy to find the world is full of them that’s why every team has them. I’m being sarcastic obviously but I’m sure your aware this isn’t new im sure coaches are always looking for length strength and speed...come on lol? But it’s not easy there are only about 10 college players that can play the position critically and hopefully they are big fast and strong but not always. Scouting is much more complex then people think and analytics has taken over. Although I will say I don’t know way anyone plays a 3-4 anymore there is an abundance of really good d linemen in the nfl right now.

@@SolemnDrip Mostly, he uploads these videos for us Sooner fans. Targeted market. And, the only truly controversial call was the targeting, The other calls if you look carefully, were spot on. On the non-targeting, none of the refs on the field made the call and threw a flag. The replay booth can only step in if the targeting was egregious. It has to be intentional. I guess they didn't think Barnes (20) was intentionally leading with the crown. Personally, I disagree. But, to try and claim the refs gave the game to OU is speculative and not based on fact.

The better team did not win. WVU would of went to the Big 12 championship and would of beat Texas again!!! The BIG 12 is RIGGED!!!!

Yep, they arent going let WVU win the conference. I was saying this all along that when they played Oklahoma, they would have to play against the officials as well and as you could plainly tell that's what happened.

Yeah well at least Kyler Murray is going to the NFL now, would've lost the heisman if not for this game and probably be going to a lazy man's sport. The sporting world is better with him in football.

No respect for a team that needs the help of the refs to win the game!!! Sooners are simps!!!

The refs essentially spotted Oklahoma 14 points by piss sorry calls... hell your going to have corners stepping dead in front of wide recievers now when they are getting beaten hoping to get an offensive pass interference call because Oklahomas corner didnt even try to go around sills either and used to a corner/ safety/ linebacker/ anyone running into a reciever would always be defensive pass interference and you could see that corner intentionally move into sills route and sills tried to stop but the corner slammed himself into him...these BIG 12 officials need to go back toooffi imaging school and the BIG12 needs to stop throwing games in order to get texas and Oklahoma in the big12 championship game over and over and over and over again... they wonder why they cant keep teams in the big 12 and the reasons are simple..if officials are going to throw games and the BIG12 are going to rig games to get the same two teams too their championship game while fuking everyone else then teams are going to haul ass...I give it 5-10 years tops and the big12 wont even have enough teams to be a conference cause teams will leave for other conferences and no other teams will wont to come into the big12

TLDR, but if you are talking about the play where they used a WR and did a crossing pattern to screen a defender off... yeah that was the right call. THE SAME FUCKING PLAY HAPPENED KANSAS VS TEXAS THE SAME DAY. it was a good call and you are a fucking moron if you think otherwise... good day
