Montana Rail Link GP9 109 on Mullan Pass Spring 2024

Railfanning the area of Mullan Pass on April 27, 2024 the dispatcher was talking to a eastbound empty coal train telling them they will be waiting for two trains before they can proceed. One was loaded coal train and one was a extra local movement. Unknown to us that the local would be led by MRL GP9 109 and SD40-2XR 262 definitely a rare movement. Hearing a non turbocharged locomotive climbing the grade was awesome, it was like time went back to many years ago.
