My typical upgrades in that format of guitar are: 1. Locking Tuners 2. Pure Tone Output Jack (for Hold, not Sound) 3. Free Way Model 3X3-05 toggle selector switch 4. Seymour Duncan Triple Shot Mounting Rings That provides 72 tonal options, 40 more than this scheme, without requiring switched pots: I figure it is better to let people select pots for taper and feel, not to mention opening up the possibility of per-pickup volume controls with a master set of treble, bass, and volume controls. I would also swap in some interesting pickups which are at least medium output such that the split and parallel pickup options are more viable.
I bought a new Studio in blueberry burst in September when they came out. It was so amazing that I bought a bourbon burst Studio Session when they came out in December. It’s one of the best guitars I’ve ever played. Fit and finish on both are perfect and the setup out of the box was pretty spot on, only minor intonation needed. The BB Pros on the Studio sound great in HB mode especially, but the 57 Classics on the Studio Session are some of the best I’ve heard. And I love the ebony fretboard. I got an absolutely amazing top on mine, and oddly enough, mine came with vintage deluxe tuners rather than the Grovers. I actually don’t mind, but I reached out to Gibson and they are sending me a set of the Grovers in case I ever want to swap them out. Gibson seems to be on a roll and I think they knocked the new Studios out of the park!
@@JAL-cc8jd dude!!!! This is awesome to hear! The studio session is such an awesome guitar and I’m glad you love yours! Gibson has definitely been on a roll and that’s pretty awesome of them to send you the Grover’s.
I don’t need any push pull options and I don’t need a bound neck but I would love a natural reveal binding like the PRS and locking tuners. Next I would like to address the flame top 🫤 if you go to Sweetwater they have 4 or 5 of each color and ALL OF THE TOPS ARE HORRIBLE 😳 on all colors so I’m not going to pay $2,000 for any guitar with a horrible top !
@@non_brewed_condiment I get that, I will say that I’ve been pleasant surprised by the upswing in quality from them. But thank you! I’ve been trying to be pretty okay with my playing. lol
Bro I'm sorry. I love your show n all. But that guitar sound like shit. I mean it just sounds weak n thin. I'm sure all those pick up options are great. But do any make it sound like a LES PAUL??
You’re good dude, and yea…outside of the coil tap and out of phase, it sounds like a normal les Paul, or at least I thought so, it sounds thick like a Les Paul especially with any drive pedal like I demo’d. but to each their own.
Dad Rocks so hard I can feel my 401k kicking in. 😭💪🏾🔥👴🏾🎸
You just earned yourself the pinned comment award! lol.
That C-Bm-Em progression @ 3:08 was so catchy it's stuck in my head! Definitely stealing that for a demo! Great playing and great review!
Thank you!!!!🙏🏾 one day I will work my way up to your level of shred! Stoked to hang at NAMM!
Jason, killer job! 🤘🤘 Thank you!
oh snap!!!!!! thank you! seriously this means the world.

That sounds like a really great set of mods!

Sweet shoutout, sweeter vid! Great job, homie!
Thank you homie! Gotta show you the appreciation for being so awesome and helping us out so much! Thanks again! 🙏🏾
Great video Jason !! 🙌
A true marketing specialist 😅
For real though you sound great per usual ✨
Thank you!!! Stoked to see you next week! Gotta grab some food! 🍱
I love a Les Paul and a Tele. The only two guitars I need. You make the Les Paul sound waaaay better than I do tho!! Heck yeah!
@@MikeBarnhill Thank you my friend! Always appreciate you and the kindness you’ve shown me.
As I wrote on your comparison video, this is a very nice LP. Sounds great too.
Your playing's gotten tighter too. Been practicing more?
I’ve been playing this on my lunch break and I agree! This is a super nice sounding Les Paul!
And thank you! I’ve been practicing! 😬
Great review and playing.
Appreciate the kind words!
It's pretty awesome specially for a non-LP guy! I might even get one.
Thanks, man! I was super impressed by it.
I’m a 54 year old father. Dad Rock is my life. Is there another type of guitar besides the Les Paul? Oh yeah, maybe the Stratocaster. 🤪
dad rock is life!!! lol.
I think a Bigsby or a Les trem would be good. Also a rocket launcher attachment (goes without saying).
Also long as I get to say "You want stars, I'll give you stars" before firing off the rocket launcher attachment.
I love how Gibson is acting like each pickup having it's own volume pot is some new innovation. Les Pauls have had that feature since 1952😅
Nah, they’re not. They just brought over some features over from their higher end stuff to the studio series.
No poker chip?
Nope, but Im going to add one.
I first read "Gibson is Black" in the thumbnail and thought "oh interesting I didn't know that" when clicking 😅
Bahahahahahaha! If I could’ve gotten away with it, I should’ve made that the thumbnail. lol
Btw support with all the insanity going on in your country ! And keep on the cool vids !

Fair enough, It's not what you want, and I get that. I will say that I don't think the bourbon burst photographs as well as the others.
I feel like such a hater but I don't think Gibson can be back while they're owned by KKR. Cool video though your playing is great

AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN
…..ugh, okay???
It a nice guitar but 2000 dollars is a bit much for a studio .
I understand, and I can’t say it’s not a lot of cash, I will say it’s definitely worth it if you’re a looking for a Gibson. It’s where I would start.

there are a million better 'Pauls" than Gibsons (and you pay for guitar not a decal)
Doesn’t the guitar come with the decal?
