It was a movie that came out in the 80s, was considered a show of great special effects in its day. They are going to try and release a sequal in a few years that will try and be a great show of special effects for today (well, that day in two years)
That is very true! I would have to admit though that it would also be neat to see this movie animated, though it would take away from it some. To bad Jim Henson wasn't still around doing puppet movies. If I knew how to get funded I'd make a puppet movie :) Maybe mix Puppets and CGI for something totally new looking.
Look up Power of the Dark Crystal. Genndy tarkakarvsky or however you say that, the guy behind Samurai jack clone wars and dexters lab is going to make a sequel using the same art designer as the first! Since this will be his first non animated project it safe to assume that while this will be mostly puppeter work, they will use computer to smooth out the rough edges and do certain things they cant do with puppets. Check it out on IMDB
