A pair of hit songwriters fall in love with an ex-film star and her friend, but a blackmailer arrives to disrupt their romances!
I remember this movie I saw it when it came out with my girlfriend of that time. I am 104 years old now. The world has certainly changed since then
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you!
Wow 104 and watching. RUclips
Good for you !!!! .....
best style ever ❤️you sound awesome
Congratulations on long life! And I'm glad you found these wonderful old movies. I'm 61 and I love watching them. Movies today are just not worth the time watching in my opinion. When I had cable I watched TCM. Unfortunately cable is not in my budget anymore .
I AM AN OLD VETERAN "LOST IN MY DREAMS" OF SO VERY, VERY LONG AGO, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS SO PLEASANT MEMORY OF MY YOUTH, I AM SEEING HOW OLD I AM NOW AND THEY WOULD BE WELL OVER 100 YEARS OLD. I DO HOPE I MEET THEM AND CAN THANK THEM, AS I DO YOU NOW. :):):)
A drool fest - the clothes, cars, acting and enjoyable movie! Love these 1930s movies😊
Very funny ! Great dialogue, Great Music - there isnt anything about this movie I d'ont like !
i really enjoyed the songs in this film 🎥🥂
I'm addicted to old movies - and I can't fall into dreams without, smiling! Thanks very much! I came to America when I was over 50 - now I'm 75 and I'm from Europe
Charming…fast paced witty dialogue
I loved this movie! Good story, great acting, and some wonderful music! What more could I ask for? Thanks so much! 🌈🌈🌈
FANTASTIC. LOVE a movie with romance and no sex and swearing.
A family movie. PERFECT.
A
Nothing like the old ‘fliks’. No trash talk. No showing off ‘booties’. Perfect!!
always a pleasure to watch unknowns from times when people were decent, praised good, beauty and truth. Humanity now is in the sewers. We need to restore the golden class!
“People” were never “decent”
@@lemilemi5385 More of them were, but see UR point.
😅😊@@lemilemi5385
What a fun movie; watchable by every member of the family. Thanks for posting this gem. Perfect for this pandemic lockdown.
Beautiful little movie. The good old days.
What a pleasant review before mine. They just don’t have movies, actors and actresses today.
Thank you ....
11:00 Who Am I? - 17:16 Sitting on the Moon - 21:30 Sitting on the Moon - 48:20 Lost in My Dream
I honestly believe that the Actors & Actresses of now a days should take lesson of the Actors & Actresses of yesteryears. They can’t hold a candle up compared to those who made a path for them to try to follow. These people worked long hard hours and put out more movies in one year then those of today’s. I’m envy, jealous that this would of been my era to of lived through but wasn’t. I’m from the Fifty’s and lived through the Hippies which I don’t regret but those times compared to these times are completely different. Anyway keep these movies coming.
No talent is how it is today. Actors, writers and directors.
The first 10 minutes of this film encapsulates a priceless slice of Hollywood life in the "golden age", with all its mad excess, triumph, tragedy, and absurdity. And the rest of the picture ain't bad either. Grace Bradley the leading lady was reputedly "one of the most popular musical stars of the 1930s." And it shows! A rom comedy of errors that's full of fun.
Thats why God made the movies 📄
And the 1936 Academy Award for "The Cheesiest Moustache" goes to Roger Pryor. Good, fun movie. Viva the 30's.
Roger Pryor is one of the few mustachioed actors who actually played the good guy. Oh wait, there WAS Gable.... A Republic quickie. Above and beyond other small studio quickies.
Let’s not forget David Niven.
Gable a good guy only on film.
Oldie but a goodie. Really loving 💕 these films. Good stuff that stands the test of time.
Good story line. good music and nice twist at the end.
I just read that Grace Bradley was William Boyd's (Hopalong Cassidy) fifth wife, but they had an enduring, happy marriage that lasted until his death in 1972. Grace lived to be 97 and died on her birthday in 2010 in Dana Point! I think I've got the facts straight... writing this from memory.
I had the chance to visit Hopalong Cassidy's house back about 15 years ago... beautiful old Spanish villa
Graces father was overcome with grief and died soon after his daughter.
Is that tall blonde PERT KELTON? SHES A BLAST; A VERY FINE COMEDIENNE.....
Pert Kelton (Mattie) played the role of Mrs. Paroo, mother of Marian --the Librarian--Paroo in both the Broadway and Movie Musical, "The Music Man."
I knew it was PERT. Always look forward to here pictures
6:32 Overweight! She looks skinny compared to the obesity we see today.
True
What a great film young people don't know what life is
Todayd actors and actresses don't have the talent of yesteryear nor do the men and women know what it's like to be real to be themselves to be romantic I'm so much in love with an older fashioned depression era modern girl and it's been hell ime going to ask for her hand Aug 24th I expect a no but with Gods help we'll b happy I love her so a good older fashioned love romance
This is probably one of the most classic and best movie's of all time they just don't make movies like this anymore
Thank you so much for posting this lovely old film .
Roger Pryor is great! Very sweet, easy to watch film. The manners, music, clothing & hair all beautiful!
What a fantastic story, soundtrack, movie...I think I'll watch this about 15 more times!!!
Enjoyable film. Roger Pryor displayed a lot of charm in his films and should have been an even bigger star than he was. Wisecracking Pert Kelton played Shirley Jones' mother in The Music Man and was the first Alice Kramden. And Henry Wadsworth played opposite Maureen O'Sullivan in the original Thin Man Movie.
Watching this I felt I was soaking in a hot jacuzzi. Feeling so relaxed, content. Just what the doctor ordered. I'm an oldie, but a newbie to these old movies; loving so many of them, and PizzaFlix is a good source. Really enjoyed this one, altho the music not my cuppa. Especially liked Roger Pryor. Not a pretty boy, looks like a "normal" nice looking man, good actor. I see he had a strong live theater background. I'll keep my eye out for him. Here's from Wikipedia: "Pryor often had leading roles in B movies in the 1930s and 1940s He appeared in more than 50 films between 1930 and 1945." I think the entire cast was good. That's why God made the movies sums it up.
you are awesome and so is your comment.
@@nikop3571 Only God is awesome

Groo Vin8tor: Would mind a hitch-hiker? You could drop me off either in the era just past WW11....or in 1962 so I can just be born again for a complete re-do. LOL. Nice to Dream anyway.....

It’s still a Great Movie 🍿 After all these years . Thank you 😊 !
This is a sweet movie, and the song sung near the beginning is lovely. I've never seen these actors before I don't think. I do want to know what that song is. Would like to find it.
How I miss WGN Chicago channel 9 late show late late show and early morning show this was back in the days when most TV stations actually signed off around midnight didn't come back on until 5 or 6 in the morning
Yeah I well remember those days. Not a Chicago broadcast, but every Saturday night oldies until dawn.
Extraordinary how the music was ever popular; how times change!
Enjoyed the movie. Thanks for the upload.
Great inspiration makes great music. "Time is the factor" When opportunity knocks a second time, be ready. You'll soar! A good movie!. Love it! 🎥💋

Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you. 🍕
Excellent ☺
Both fabulous songs!
Just read a bit about Grace Bradley. She was in love with, and married to, William Boyd, who was Hopalong Cassidy.
Back then, the moon was all the rage, but we did not know that we were landing there. Edith Wharton wrote, "Glimpses of the Moon," and this movie is really good, better than we deserve.
Better Than we deserve...? Wait...! What?
Great old movie. I enjoyed it Roy

Dad stays quiet but mom is a beast! I'm his 129 year old sister.
That hangover soon cleared up at the start of the film.
What a treat!
Enjoyed the movie 💝
ty love your channel ❤️
7:00. A Joy Behar/Bette Midler precursor
This is actually "Things Happen At Night" (1948), based on Frank Harvey, Jnr's play "The Poltergest".
"Sitting On The Moon" would be about hit songwriters falling in love with an former film star being blackmailed. Based on William Field's short story "Temperamental Lady."
M. K. Asenbauer I’m confused, isn’t this movie from 1936?
Thank you!
The victorious license sequentially moor because comic hypothetically bleach absent a hulking marble. jumbled, abiding game
