this has to be my absolute favorite set. I´ve listened to it at least 120 times...never gets old. MK is simply out of this world. Hopefully she´ll make it to BPM Costa Rica 2022.
Great mix that covers a lot of ground. It is kind of sad to see a bunch of comments from people who started listening to dance music a couple of summers ago trash this mix. You could spend a month digging through the back catalogs of any single artist in this mix and be better for the experience.
I love the grit of it. Like you can hear the machines twisting and turning, fighting against melodic sensibilities of the 80s soft synth stuff that was in the mainstream.
Michael - don't want to sound elitist but fuck those people. Really, let them listen to fucking "download template" "tech-house" made on Fruity Loops and their "minimal" artists. I am happy they are not anywhere close to me. Those people would say for Kraftwerk it is a lame shit and they can't take enough drugs and dance to it.
Overall it was a good set exploring lots of great soundscapes and transitioning well while keeping the energy level going and the crowd engaged. Personally I would HATE to play a Boiler room set without at least a velvet rope behind me to keep the crowd away so that snafus like that at 20:15 don't happen. She took the incident with ease and class. Also I cringe seeing wankers with drinks in hand so close to the DJ set up. Stand back please! Big props to MISS Kitten for throwing down a great mix and showcasing true skills. Not a flawless set which I appreciate seeing and hearing as it proves the DJ is real and usually the naysayer comments come from those with absolutely no skill or class. Keep Positive and happy the way Miss Kitten did on this night.

You will most likely get "Live of course" Digitally assisted DJs are truly amazing to watch, so much to keep track besides the song's beat. I personally prefer the old-style vinyl DJs with no digital assist. I consider this a live performance because the DJs ears and fingers work the mix. No beat synchronization or long beat fillers. Its like cooking with a gas grill vs a charcoal grill. Both are awesome, but the charcoal adds another dimension that you never get from gas. Today's DJs are a different breed, they play in large venues and people don't respect the DJ booth area! The old style DJs played at clubs and usually had a stack of floor speakers directed at the dance floor. In addition, the old style DJs sound system was like their own signature sound, much like a guitarist's tone. Who doesn't remember dancing by the Cerwin Vega Earthquake speakers, or the giant Peavey Black Widow with 18" woofers. Sprinkle in some huge Horn-Twitters and man you got a rumble of a dance! It was also commonplace to see BOSE 901 and Klipsch Horn paired together. Lastly, respect to today's DJs, they give people what they want, and do it with a lot of style!
