Elvis was raised in the ghetto so he knows the life. It is great to see reactions from others outside of the USA to the King Elvis Presley. I am 63 years old and have been and will always be an Elvis fan. He was an amazing entertainer and human being who left us way too young. The day he died will remain one of my saddest memories. Thank you for sharing another great Elvis performance.

Elvis was King of rock everywhere. Also here in the north. My father was a huge Elvis fan and I grew up listening to him and other oldies. I'm from Finland and a bit over 40 years old.

It was written by Mac Davis for him. His backup singers were black women. What alot of people don't know is that he refused to preform at a venue that wouldn't let his backup singers there because they were black. Great man who believed in equality.

This is a great song. Elvis is one of the best singers that has ever lived. He was also a fabulous entertainer. There is a reason he is called "The King". He had a great voice & could sing anything whether it was ballads, gospel or rock. I also enjoy watching a lot of his old movies even though they were a bit corny, but the music was always great.

That song written by Mac Davis in 1969 was the true story of what happens in the inner city in ever state of our great country. Elvis recorded it even though his manager, Col. Parker did not want him to record it because he felt it was too controvertional. Elvis recorded it anyway. Sadly, nothing has changed 55 years after he recorded this great song. Elvis was not just an amazing singer, he was a man of concious and empathy. You don't never get that from other entertainers. That's why Elvis is and will ALWAYS BE THE KING. Long Live The King and his legacy.❤❤❤❤❤

RIP >…………….. if you are interested, this song was recorded at American Sound Studios for Elvis’ “Live from Memphis” album and there are outtakes from this and other classic Elvis songs depicting the actual recording process for these hits here on RUclips ….. thanks for keeping good music live ….

My mom became a fan when Elvis first started and in 1967 our family moved to Las Vegas , a few years later she worked at the international hotel where Elvis performed, it was her dream come true lol, when she finished up she would go stand in the back of the showroom and watch and everytime he would come into town his guy's would bring in crates of albums to let employees go thru and pick out what they liked, he was known for being very kind and generous, the whole town buzzed when he was there...♡

Even though he was losing his fight with drugs at the end of his life, it was wonderful to hear him again when he was The King! You can tell from his live performances that he was not a "studio made" artist. He was as good, if not better in person. It was one of the things in life that makes an indelible mark in your memory - I remember where I was and what I was doing when the news came that he had passed away. Thank you for this reaction!

Wow, for a Brit to say that Elvis is the best singer we've ever had (or, whatever it was, you said), and not, say, the Beatles, who were from the same era, is really saying alot---that was wonderful!!!
Yeah, if you were talking about the black, female backup singers (he also had The Stamps Quartet - a white male backup group), I agree; they're fabulous!! That's the group, The Sweet Inspirations, that Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston's mother, founded in the 50s. She wasn't in this vid, though, as she had left the group in '69, after having only sung with Elvis, for a year. I saw an interview with Whitney, where she spoke about Elvis having such a presence---how you could feel him walk in a room, before you ever saw him; and, that she loved him.
Sometimes, Elvis, back in the day, was told he couldn't bring his black singers, and he would tell the venue that he wouldn't play there, then!

Greetings from New Orleans/Mardi Gras & KOE/the Krewe of Elvis!!!
Don’t beat yourself up too much- just today my husband & I were giggling about Cartman’s cover of ITG😍
My husband was lucky enough to see Elvis perform live in Chicago. While I’m a native Tennessean, it was my native Chicagoan husband who was the Elvis fan & brought me around. These days he spends quite a bit of time on your side of the pond bc of a lil place called 👢👢.😉 The hubby, not Elvis😂 At least not that I know of😅
If I Can Dream (a tribute to MLK) the 68 special white suit version
Walk A Mile In My Shoes live w story
    Bridge Over Troubled Water live
And a must see- the minidoc (14mins) Elvis and The Black Community: That Echo Will Never Die.
    Please. Send. Crunchies!!! lol
    Stay safe & love much💖
    Cheers!

Reacting to these will give you a great introduction to Elvis's music and to Elvis as a person: (1) Elvis Presley - Music Evolution (1954-1977) (7:32) (this is a series of live performance clips that spans his whole career) and (2) Elvis Presley and the Black Community - That Echo Will Never Die (14:30).

Just found you through your Elvis reactions. I’m addicted to Elvis and can watch him all day. You said in a previous reaction that you don’t want to react to well known Elvis songs as you know them. My advice, you need to. Even the best known songs are completely different live. You mentioned Suspicious Minds, but the 1970 Vegas version of this is something else. Just don’t want you to miss out cos what you think you know could end up being something completely different. Enjoy Elvis, you have so much goodness to see 💙

    Thank you for your reaction!
Not only is his voice and stage presence in a league of it's own, he orchestrated the whole performance and created the feeling he desired to convey. He was a master of that and added his special unique spontaniousness that just came natural no scripts! How blessed we are to experience this multifaceted talent that was like a force of nature inspired by his faith, his passion of music and his desire to share it with his fans.
He touched lives, hearts and souls, through his music and his extraordinary generosity to individual's and numerous charities. He shared a huge portion of his wealth from the beginning of his career until he passed away. One of his most known donation for charity was the Aloha Hawaii Concert. That was the first world wide televised concert. It was watched by 1 1/2 billion people more then the number of people who watched the moon landing.
There is so much more to Elvis then his music. Elvis was a man that truly cared about all people and actively did things to help when he could and never forgot his beginnings. He was always grateful for his fans and strived to do his best always.

...great reaction...I'd recommend some songs, but, alas, too many to start choosing(approx 750+)...I'll enjoy any you pick...I happened to be working in the Memphis Fire Dept alarm office when we got the call from Graceland on 8/16/77....within a few hrs, we were getting calls from around the world wanting particulars of the news! sad day for Memphis, and a good portion of the world!

I understand why you would laugh...very funny.. this song
    is anything but funny though.
    Elvis grew up extremely
poor so he understood what it was like to go without...
He fills the stage with his presence....many people who knew him said his presence could be felt before he entered a room....great song..
He tells the story of sorrow
and tragedy as only he can...
Thank you for reacting to his music..

Speaking of back-up singers, did you know that one of them was the mother of the iconic Whitney Houston. Thelma Houston I believe her name was. Just FYI.
