OMG! “Elk. Hunt.” One of the very rare times I had to pause a YT video so that my laughing out loud would not interfere with my viewing of the content. Yes, I just spelled out LOL completely. It is well deserved and bravo!
One of the best euro expansions I think I've ever played. It adds just the right amount of extra stuff, and it's kind of more of the same,....but also much more interesting and makes other mundane strategies more fun and viable....and that "U" shape is everything
Yes - that U shape is CRITICAL! More of the same is good when you like the original stuff. Did you notice that the second mini-expansion bans some cards?
@@NightsAroundaTable Well, by the sounds of it, you're kept in the basement and aren't allowed to see anyone, so she was probably upstairs all the time. ;)
Definitely essential. I bought the 2 at the same time. Played the base game once and have only played with the expansion since. Just feels cleaner overall. I'd watched a ton of videos on the game prior to buying so I was pretty sure it was the game for me and have not been disappointed with the decision. If you like Feast for Odin then you will definitely like Norwegians.
@@NightsAroundaTable Yes. In Champions, thou use warriors (aka. dice) to fight monsters, and thou are aye losing thou hard earned warriors. Valhalla grants thou a pleasant benefit for all those dead warriors.
Yes - same! i grabbed a base game and its expansion just the other day. Have never played it. It's a bit of rolling the dice, but i guess as gamers, we're used to that!
please forgive me for asking and its ok if you don't want to reply, but what are the little ovals next to your eyes. I'm asking out of curiosity. Also, great video. Loved it.
They’re cholesterol deposits called xanthelasma, and i am toying with the idea of doing a home chemical peel to flatten them out. Have had them for over 15 years.
@@ag806 It's $900 for surgery. The surgeon didn't have any pictures of patients he'd worked on before, citing privacy concerns, which is nonsense. i have read online that there is a reasonably high recurrence rate, but he said there wasn't. The tube of acid is 30 bucks. It burns them off and they'll be all blistery and gross for a month or two, so i may need to wear sunglasses in a few videos. There may be a bit of discoloration (lighter than my skin, or pinker) but once the area is flat, i can cover it with makeup if i want to. And then if they recur, there's more acid in the tube, and i may just do it again. Seems like a better option than having two surgical scars on my eyes, and then having to pay another 900 bucks for a second round, you know?
@@NightsAroundaTable That's really strange that the surgeon wouldn't show pictures of successful results. I'm actually an eye doctor and the surgeon I would send patients to for that treatment routinely will ask patients for consent for full photos, and has no qualms showing pictures of just the ocular area (which certainly isn't enough to identify strangers or even just acquaintances). Good luck with the home treatment!
@@RedEyedGhost1 That's what i thought too! Who's gonna know if it's just a shot of your eyelids - even with your eyes themselves mosaic'd or blurred or whatever. Anyway, i'm not buying something sight-unseen for $900. The (non-eye) doctors i've mentioned the trichloroacetic acid treatment to all say not to do it "because it's acid." Uh... yeah, geniuses. i get that. But everything i've seen online about it makes it seem like a cheaper (if more arduous) process. Any opinion?
Your video still has that janky delayed look to it and the audio is out of sync ever so slightly. I thought you said you were going to fix this a while ago?!
It’s always a new issue. i’m using a new camera and running it into a new computer (total cash outlay = ~$1600), but i think the problem now may be the USB port? i noticed that when i tried to transfer photos using that port, the connection would intermittently drop. So i dunno. i’ll try moving cables to different ports. But i assure you i’m not earning anything close to $1600 on this channel, so it’s hurting me a little more than it’s hurting you. :\
@@NightsAroundaTable Your USB ports won't make any difference unless you were streaming live. You're obviously editing recorded videos in post. What editing software are you using?
@@TheKiltedKraut It's a live-to-tape setup. My USB ports make a world of difference because all three cameras, the foot pedal, the mouse and keyboard, the numberpad, and the audio recorder are being fed through the bus at the same time into OBS. The whole point of that setup is to save me hours of editing later. i still do a bit of editing after the fact, and have been nudging the audio track (which is already on a 200ms delay in OBS to account for the discrepancy) in Premiere Pro. But the delay is not consistent - the video speeds up and slows down according to its capability. It's an iPhone fed into an Elgato 4K Camlink.
@@NightsAroundaTable Huh?! It really surprises me that you're having that type of trouble using Premiere Pro as part of the equation. Well...good luck fixing that. I enjoy your videos regardless.

Thanks, Hester! And thanks so much for your support on Facebook too!
Love me some Uwe Rosenberg games. Great to see Cheryl in another video!

That’s great! It was a good sign that my FLGS kept selling out, and then getting it back in stock right away.
Great video as always Ryan! Looking forward for the how to play on this one! :)
Thanks! Odin incoming.
Growling stomach is most appropriate for a Rosenberg game.
Ha! So true. Now i need to take a -3 point begging card.
By any metric Cheryl is winning the series 2-1 And retains the crown, despite Ryan’s epic win. ;)
Also: I’ve never played the game. I’m just here for the box farts. :)

I thought that was more of a 3 or 4, but you guys (and the box-fart-o-meter) were there in person. Maybe your microphone was just close to it.
Yes, i think so. And remember: the Box Fart-O-Meter is a finely tuned scientific instrument, and as such, is infallible in its readings.
I buy expansions if they make the game better.
Somethimes directly with the basegame
