- We've been told that the Caravan and Motorhome Club introduced dynamic pricing last year. We didn't know this. Basically the more demand there is the higher the price is. Is this right for a club?

Over 60s get a discount with the caravan and camping club. I've booked a one night at for myself and my wife electricity included at Beadnell . £29 for the night which isn't too bad.

Don’t think i’ll be renewing, my Motorhome & Caravan Club membership. Price for a night at Chatsworth £58.50 is taking the P**s now. For non profit organisation. Love the vlogs .
Crikey. That’s a pricy one!!! We haven’t stayed at that site but have stayed in the pub car park opposite Chatsworth for free….. (well for a few pints in the pub of course!!)

Hi guys, another great van talk...we agree with you about dynamic pricing, we are CAMC members and feel a bit cheated if the price creeps up just because its a popular site. Consequently, if its a shite-site it should be uber cheap.... Bet its not!! There's only one thing that reduces when ur over 60, and its not the price of a CAMC site!!🤣🤣🤣

We left the caravan and motorhome club last year. We now use private campsites.
We couldn't get a discount even though we don't need electricity.
One site we used had no toilets or showers, or grey water disposal and still £25 per night and increasing through the year.
We full-time and now if needed we use private sites.

Our van is also called ViviVan like Kenny's. My darling sister was Vivienne and she loved adventuring in her van - but the little bugga turned up her toes way too young and I miss her sooooo much! So we named our van ViviVan in her honour and now she campervans all over New Zealand with us! It's a great name! Just found your channel and it's good fun! Cheers from Waiheke Island, New Zealand. 🤩

We are members of both clubs. We tend to use the camping and caravan club whenever possible because we get the age related rate. Also in our opinion they are more relaxed & not so bumptious! Really enjoyed the jokes section and seeing all the pups. We are off to Scotland soon & I can't wait.

I totally agree about the CAMC. We are members but don't really use. We've been going to far more independent sites and especially love the Tranquil Park sites. Best thing , no kids or noise. Also better value for money. Great van talk and lived the jokes 😂

Hi guys, I’m a C&MH club member and have been for 6 years (I think). Each year I question if membership is value for money but still renew. I have decided that this year is the last. I rarely go on their sites because I don’t like the layouts with the feeling of being on top of each other (oo’er missus😂), I question the cost versus other sites and few are actually convenient for me as I like to walk to somewhere, beach/shops etc

Agree with dynamic pricing comment. One of the big advertising points of joining was around saving $15 per night BUT any time we have used a site it’s been more expensive! Probably because one day notice is generally more than we have

All the club prices are getting higher. Non club sites are now nearly always cheaper these days even some of the five star ones. I'm a member of the Camping & caravanning club, I for one will not be renewing my membership this year. They are not clubs anymore, they are businesses profitis the aim.

On Dynamic pricing, lots of insurance companies do the same, as you probably know they will only quote up to 30 days in advance but the closer you get to your start date the more the premium goes up. When I bought my last van I got a quote to start in a couple of days when I was going to pick it up and it was about £500, but then the broker told me if he re run the quote to start in 30 days it was only £350, so I gave the vendor a deposit and he kept it on his insurance for 30 days until I could pick it up.

I was charged £7 a night for electricity by one club . . . But what I find strange is that I pay about £14 a week in my two bed pak home . . .How does that work ?

We are long time members currently travelling around Europe for six months . Three months in we tried to book a site at Lake Garda and were told we would be charged a £20 booking fee unless we booked on line . This proved difficult as kept showing sites full . Fee eventually waived as they had to call site and check availability. All getting ridiculous , so different from other years when travelling abroad .

I think when you upgraded your van (I still miss it, niggles and all) you felt the need to join the ccc. But you can take the couple out of Barnsley but not the Barnsley out of the couple, down to earth touring is always the best.

My sister and her husband and kids go to the isle of mull every year for the Rallying that’s held there (when it’s aloud) she says it beautiful and the beaches are pretty nice too. They travel up from Otley and help marshal I do believe. Hope the weather is good for you. 👍🚐💨💨

@@Stchristopherofatlantis WHAT?? First site we stayed at isn’t with either club Silver hill retreat, Teversal, gave 10%. Off, 2 more 10% off over sixty, seldom get any perks with the silver threads but many do that aren’t with the clubs, also blue card holders have 10% of on other sites.

In my personal opinion; if I can have one nowadays!!!! I think the days of the camping and motorhome and camping and caravaning are numbered. I feel as the cost of recent electric costs increases are not reflective to the real world. There are lots of other alternatives nowadays such as wild camping; pub stop overs; CL; and independent sites. Great show guys always on board for the show. 😂😂😂

Been a member of camc for four years since we bought our first motorhome but have only stayed at one of their sites, Hawes. I think they are overpriced and too institutional. We pay our membership so we can use cls.

Yep. Like so many commenters here, I won't be renewing my C&MC membership. The prices are ridiculous and I've noticed that many of the sites are in sub-prime locations (next to main roads, etc). Sod that!

We only stayed one year with Camping and motohome, now we just find independants if we want a site. Somehow the outtakes reminded me of Darren's attention span when I'm filming,,, or is it when I'm just talking in general 😂🙅

Dynamic pricing is big in hospitality and the club changed over when they brought in the new website etc. The thing is I'm happy to pay top dollar for good facilities like Concierge Camping but not for facilities that have seen better days.
Too many sites have increased fees and blamed electric...well just get PAYG then but they won't do that as they can't justify high prices.
People will just vote with their feet.
I have a new rant too! Food vans on sites. Christ, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask! And apart from pizza (which I defy anyone to mess up!)I swear the standard of food is going down.
I also agree with noise and kids playing football near my van rather than on the playground.
I need a lie down after all this ranting 🙈🤣🤣🤣

The CAMC use a 2nd hand hotel booking system which after all the teething troubles and hacking has caused many members to leave or consider doing so. Now that the dynamic pricing is starting to bite with prices nearly doubling for school holidays they will start losing more and more campers. The arrogance and careless attitude of CAMC management beggars belief 👿 9:31

We’re good Ithankukindly. We’re gearing up to get out to our RV soon, the site has opened up, but the water hasn’t been switched on yet, so I can’t dewinterize it yet. Our site is open 1st April-to end of October. A friend who has an RV near our plot, sent two pics of the view from our site,
