Brazil are the last remaining undefeated team in the tournament and their offence and digging were reasons for that success. Brazil were second after pool play with a spike efficiency of 35.07%, led by Fernanda Garay, Tandara Caixeta and Gabi Guimaraes. These three took 69.27% of the team spike attempts and had an efficiency rate of 31.58%, led by Garay at 44.29%. When the outsides and opposites drive the offence successfully, it is tough to stop them. Speaking of stopping, middle blockers Carol Gattaz and Carolina Da Silva at 0.89 and 0.83 blocks per set respectively, helped stop their opponents in their tracks. Brazil were only ranked at seventh with 2.56 blocks per set, but when the offence is carrying you, the blocking is not such a priority. Still if the blocking doesn’t stop the ball, the back row will with 12.33 digs per set, second in pool play. Five players had at least one dig per set and Gabi Guimares and libero Camila Brait were both on an average of over two digs. Throw in the second-best team in service receive in pool play with a 66.67% success rate and Brazil look very tough to face.

Gabriela is the real "World MVP", absolute perfection. She may or may not win the gold medal, but, along with Kim, she deserves to be BEST OH in Tokyo. Should Serbja triumph, I don't see either Milenkovic (...) or Busa get the award. Unfortunately Serbja looks stronger, but she's the only "UNRECEPLACEABLE" volleyball player worldwide. Boskovič, Zhu and Egonu might make a bigger visual impression, but GABI is smarter, "colder", way more intelligent, always a leader, always in control, absolutely reliable. My favorite VBP of all time 😎😎😈

I think KYK is the most unreplacable in the world...Put anyone in the world on KYK's place in Korea...I don't think anyone will lead the team to the semis in that depleted team. Kim is the perfect all around player with great leadership. Hoping for a great match vs Brazil!!! We think Korea will lose...but you know the saying, never doubt KYK lol

Boskovic is the best opposite hitter, Gabi will tear your heart out, eat half of it, then puts it back, and later comes back to eat the rest of it. Scary is it not?
Right now at this point, Boskovic is the best, but the best player of this century is no doubt KYK. She's 34 and still playing at this level leading a underwhelming Korean team to the semis!

As a Korean, I think Korea will have a very hard time with Brazil. Brazil is very strong and nobody expects this Korean team to win. But no one expected KYK and Korea to be in the semis, beating the great Turkish team! I hope KYK gets a medal so much. If only one player could lead this Korea team to success, I will undoubtedly always choose Kim Yeon Koung! Hoping for a great match!!
