One of Nadals practice mates this week is Tallon Griekspoor. Last one told yesterday in Dutch media Nadal asked him to come to the academy for a 3 day practice-session.
Good to see him practice but the real 5 set match is a different thing. Given Rafa is good at finding solutions during adverse situations still we cannot count out Nadal
Dont understand why he doenst work on the serve more. Way too much slice on it, bad trophy position. Why he hasnt changed back to his 2010 motion in 14 years is beyond me. He'd be at 30 slams easy.
Also, in addition to serving, he has to work on the return since he was very weak since Madrid and especially in Rome. Simply, when he has the opportunity on the return to attack 1 or 2 serves that are slower, he has to attack the winner to be more aggressive and not stand a few meters behind the line and bat the ball there playing a lot defensively with a lot of rallies. Also when he has the opportunity to shorten the point on the net to use volleys more often as they are perfectly fine for him and that can also be improved. His best serve was from the US Open 2010, Australian Open 2019, 2013 and 2019 from the Davis Cup. The speed of the ball service at the US Open 2010, the maximum speed was 217 km/h. At the Australian Open 2019, the fastest serve was 204 km/h, on average his first serve was 184 km/h, and the second at a speed of 156.5 km/h. Wins 81% of points after the first serve and 58% after the second. I think for the serve from 2010 it is impossible for him to return it because of problems with his stomach muscle and back which he injured several times and if he returned the serve he would again injure his muscles or back due to excessive strain on that part of the body, but the serve from 2019 from the Australian Open should to use again. This serve is still better than the serve from the 2013 season and the Davis Cup from 2019. It is simply unbelievable to me that he still did not work on the serve from the beginning of his career, that is, he used the one from the US Open 2010 and continued to use it until the end of his career and not after the US open 2010 to return to the old service, which was much worse for him. I heard the story that the main reason was that his body movement on the new serve didn't suit him and that he had problems with a back injury from the 2010 us open serve so he stopped using that serve and went back to the old serve before 2010.
GOOD GRIEF, people, WAKE UP! IF it took him 3 sets to beat the #108 in Rome, and was out in straight sets against Hurcatz, what makes u all think hes going to win RG? DONT you know that the point at which he decided to get a rather pointed choice couple yrs ago, at that point he threw away his tennis career? the aftermath of his current condition is the real point here, after all, the funnel point of his choice shows why, his hrt n Lngs are so dmged that although he can hit ok, he has no endurance past the first set unless hes playing a low level player, clearly! get the ...point? is this explanation um....pointed enough for y´all?
Thing is that people still live in 2008 year, and whenever see Rafa with racket on clay, they imagine this prime version of Rafa that crushes his opponent and not this 37 old Rafa, plagued by injuries. They even more quicker forgot his recent debacles on clay that neven happened him before. I bet if Rafa lose in the second round of RG, people will still believe that he will win Olympic games.
Sinner injured, Alcaraz injured, Novak out of shape. Go for it Rafael! One more time 💪💪
Ironically, Rafael recently injured AND out of shape 😂
Last year three best clay court players in the world Nadal,Alcaraz and Thiem were injured and Djokovic won it. Tennis luckiest guy.
Nadal is slower now and needs a bit more physical training. Only if he is Lucky he can perhaps go into semi finals
Rafa would eat all of them for breakfast anyway
Rafa not feeling good as well 🤣🤣

Maybe, but it's not a given.
I think we all get the anti-vax sentiment here and it's not a very compelling argument.

So would Federer, if he didn't have chokanitis.
u need to serve flat, " with effect " u can serve in eco, find angle, etc
