    Just had this exact plow installed on my f350 dually.

    You can program your controller for "one touch float mode" (only have to push it once and not hold it so plow go's down and into float mode). Truck power on, controller off, push and hold the down button, then push and hold the power button until it turns on and wait for green light to flash.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  6 лет назад

      Didn't know you could do that. I have never had any problems holding down the button for float mode.

      Yeah, most don't. Just wanted to let you know that's all. Nice video's!

      Just wanted to let you know that you could do it if you wanted too. Can also adjust how fast or slow the plow drops too.

    I believe there is an 8-way joystick controller for Western. I would choose that over buttons simply because my thumb and hand would get tired pushing buttons all day.

    what if my red power light doesn't come on? I used a test light and found three of the four wires to the controller had ground. The fourth wire had nothing. Many thanks for any advice.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  4 года назад

      Then you aren't getting power. Plow has to be hooked up and plugged in for the remote to power on. Also ignition needs to be turned on because your remote is powered by a switched 12v power source.

      @@mossman381 It was corrosion on the terminals. Spent a bunch of time carefully cleaning them with little pieces of sand paper. Then added dialectic grease. All working now. Thanks.

    how do you travel down the road on highway not plowing, what mode slant ? v shape ? power on ? power off ?

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  4 года назад +1

      I use v mode when driving down the road. Not quite all the way in the v because the edges can sometimes hit the road if all the way in v mode. Most of the time the power is on when going down the road but if you feel safer with the power off then I would go that route. I make sure the controller is safe when going down the road so it doesn't accidently drop.

    What about the blizzard controller? Blizzard doesn't make a V plow but it's the same one

    don't forget the auto float you can program

  • @braduh1
    @braduh1 7 лет назад +1

    One thing I'd wish they would do that Meyers does is hands free. When you put it in drive they plow drops down own it's own.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 лет назад +1

      I wouldn't want the auto down. I don't drop the blade every time I go in drive. Same with the auto up when in reverse. I am raising my blade most of the time way before I go in reverse. I want to control the blade myself.

    • @braduh1
      @braduh1 7 лет назад

      mossman38 you can turn it on and off. It's not on all the time.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 лет назад

      I realize that but I don't see myself ever using an auto feature.

    Should you always plow in float?

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  6 лет назад

      You always start in float but when the ground is soft I will bump the plow up so not to tear up the ground. Once everything freezes it's pretty much float all the time. If you run pavement then you would be float all the time. Otherwise you won't get a clean scrape.

    BOSS is simpler and easier. Why have 8 buttons ?

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  4 года назад +1

      If you use the organ in between your ears it's actually simpler and easier with 8 buttons. One button does what two buttons usually do.

  • @9530tPOWER

    That had got to be the dumbest controller ever. Could they have a few more buttons to run. I'll stick with my hiniker any day. Also raise and lower buttons are backwards

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 лет назад +2

      This is not the dumbest controller ever. Each button has a function that makes it easier to get the plow in the mode you want quickly. Having run equipment with foot controls and joysticks this remote is pretty basic. Raise and lower are not backwards.

    • @9530tPOWER
      @9530tPOWER 7 лет назад

      mossman381 2 buttons and a joystick on my hiniker. But I've noticed you always have the right answers. Any piece of equipment I've ran when you pull back on the lever/joystick it raises, but I guess you would know

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 лет назад +1

      I always have the right answers? What is that suppose to mean? This isn't a joystick. It's a handheld remote. Up is up and down is down. Just like every other snowplow controller made by the big snowplow manufactures. I can hold this remote in my left hand and run the plow. Then my right hand is free to shift and steer. Much more efficient than running everything with your right hand.

    • @9530tPOWER
      @9530tPOWER 7 лет назад

      mossman381 you're wrong. Get a hiniker controller and find out. I have a hiniker snowplow so I'm pretty sure I understand how the controller operates. Back is up, forward is down. Get in a cat or Deere front end loader and the joystick is setup the same way. Call argue with mossman though cuz he knows it all.

      mossman381 go watch dirtmonkey videos on the Western controller. It's garbage
