  • This video shows how to use the rigid lower anchor connectors on this seat, how to adjust the head restraint so it fits the child properly, how to install and uninstall the booster, and how to change between the recline and upright positions.
    This video (like all of our videos) is not an ad or a sponsored post. Maxi Cosi had no role in this video.

    Thanks! Very helpful, especially the part about having to remove the seat to change from recline to upright. Thanks for a quick and comprehensive video. :)

    Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat.

      I'm glad you found this video helpful! We recommend waiting until kids are at least 5 before switching them into a booster seat. We recommend that 4 year olds use a 5 point harness car seat.

    thank you for addressing the belt locking "trick". My son is almost five and riding in a frontier 90 and no where close to a car seat belt but I've seen other parents lock the belt to keep there child seated. I've wondered about the safety of that trick and you just answered it for me, thank you.

      I'm glad you found this helpful. If one were to need to lock the belt on a child in a booster (because the child couldn't ride in a 5 point harness for some reason and couldn't sit properly in the booster) I would recommend using a Britax booster with their secure guard (the crotch strap that secures to the lap belt) as the risk to locking the seat belt is that it increases the chances of the lap belt sliding up into the abdomen and the secure guard will keep the lap belt on the lap.

    Hello, thanks for review. Do you think this would fit in the reclined position in a vehicle in which the headrest cannot be removed? In the video it seems like the seat leans back a bit over the top of the seat when reclined

    • @thecarseatlady1
      @thecarseatlady1  2 года назад

      Since filming this video and having put hundreds more Rodifix in, I've noticed that with vehicle head restraints that can not be removed the Rodifix typically fits best in its upright position.

    I saw you recommended this seat but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Is there a seat this was replaced with? I have a Ford focus and am looking for a high back booster that will fit in the middle seat (which is very narrow)

    Hi, there. Does this booster require a top tether? If so, is it a single strap or a V-shaped strap?

    • @thecarseatlady1
      @thecarseatlady1  5 лет назад

      Boosters (a booster is a seat the child sits on and wears the seat belt across them as their restraint) never require a top tether. It is a forward facing car seat (where the child uses a 5 point harness as their restraint) that requires a top tether. The only boosters that have tethers are those that initially started out as car seats with a 5 point harness and then later are able to turn into boosters. This Rodifix does not have a tether - and does not need a tether.

      In Australia it is sold with a V tether strap and no isofix due to our laws.

    • @windybeach2184

    I have 3 across in the back. 2 Maxi Cosi RodiFix on either side and one forward facing 5 point in the center. Because of the tight space, the booster seats do not line up with the anchor points of our car (2011 Outback), so I'm not able to secure them. Is there another way to secure them besides the anchor connectors? Thanks!

    • @thecarseatlady1
      @thecarseatlady1  3 года назад +1

      No, there is no other way to secure them. However, your child will be very safe in the Rodifix even if it is not secured. Just make sure to buckle them when you are driving around with them empty (like after dropping the kids off at school).

    • @juliea6095

    I have this booster and have it in a spot where there are no anchors. I know it’s not needed, but it keeps tipping whenever our car turns. Is there a way to avoid this??

    • @thecarseatlady1
      @thecarseatlady1  3 года назад

      You may need to move it to a spot where there are lower anchors to prevent this. Also check and see if your vehicle head restraint is pushing the Rodifix - as sometimes removing the vehicle head restraint can make the Rodifix sit better against the back of the vehicle seat and be more stable.

      @@thecarseatlady1 I have the vehicle head restraint issue in my car, but thought the Maxi Cosi Rodifix required vehicle headrest support behind the Rodifix headrest to the top of child's ears (if child's head is above the seatback). Is that not the case? Would get a much better fit if I could remove the headrest and install as you have shown here!

    • @thecarseatlady1
      @thecarseatlady1  2 года назад

      The Rodifix does not require the vehicle seat back to support the child's head (Maxi Cosi has shared that it was an error that this information appeared in the Rodifix manual).
