Best assist will always be the T1S setting, aka; Turn 1 Smash. This will ensure maximum carnage and salt thereby ensuring half or more of the track will be emotionally compromised for the remainder of the race or they'll rage quit. :3
I believe you mean the parking brake assist, where you put the controller down for the first 20 seconds knowing the kids with downs will be done bobbing up and down on turn 1 and 2 and you can then proceed to pass all of them.
to be honest i get a little pissed off when i have to time and measure my braking perfectly and i see a dotted abs line on the road from someone who didn't put any effort on it.
@GraveUypo Don’t get mad at them just because they use assists. Not everyone is very skilled at the game. Unless they’re purposely crashing into you there’s no need to get mad at someone for using assists
The other thing Friction Assist does is basically turn all water effects off in races in the rain. I didn't really realize what that one was doing until I was well into the third championship and finally figured out why the AI cars were so much slower in those races. No hydroplaning (even as limited as it is in Forza 7) and the wet track no longer affects braking at all.
I actually started with you configurations, but after 3 or 5 races you get the feel for it, and i got the help of real racing 3 that i played it for 1 year and csr...thanks you are the best racing youtuber :D
One thing to keep in mind, the racing line doesn’t account for aero such as wings and splitters so it could tell you to brake super early compared to what you can actually do
First time I played any forza game, I did that. I turned the drivitar difficulty all the way down and as I got better I slowly upped the difficulty. it seemed to work well for me. Now I adjust things occasionally to go faster.
You pointed at TCS for the STM assist explanation x] Also first time I tried sim steering i instantly spun out and died, so I never bothered with it. Figured it was the setting for steering wheels
Thank you a lot for this video. I'm using it to prepare myself for the next version of the game as a total noob. You explained manual shifting pretty good but I can't see the talent in myself to be in a battle, play fair, keep the car on grip limits and find the right gear for the engine.
I'm probably too much of a noob to use sim steering, but it feels so much better to drive with it instead of normal steering.. and I feel like I'm improving a lot quicker by playing with it as well
Thank you i was not sure this changed something to the overall time but now I know. Better mastering the xbox controller than trying to do better time with a wheel then..
The best way to explain steering assist is that it affects how quickly your driving avatar steers when you give him controller inputs. Drive with interior cameras and you can see!
With an Xbox elite controller having ABS off is mindless. The trigger blocks (a button which stops the trigger from going all the way down to the bottom). Just press down all the way and the braking pressure stops just before steering lock.
Just get in the car, adjust your brakes in the tune and try until you get it to just the amount that wont lock them up. then just mash that trigger all you want and apply maximum brake pressure.
This is false you just made the 100% input threshold shorter e.g. it takes for examples sake 1 second to press 100% of the trigger, trigger blocking it by 50% means you reduce the time needed to hit 100% by 50%, that's what I heard and experienced
Lmao it's a good thing the game won't let you burn out your clutch or he would be on the side of the road after three turns. The game could still do with some harder options honestly.
I'm really enjoying it too and I turned all the music off as well. The racing is great and so much better than FM4, which is when I last played an FM game. I already smashed my lap record around Nordschleife in my fave car by over a minute. I'm not used to driving an Formula class car (never bothered with the official game) but I'm really loving that Renault F1 car. The menus and anims are a bit choppy and they've made some odd choices in certain areas but it's early days so that may all improve or be sorted.
Really appreciated the groove music option in FH3. Though, not being able to edit playlists quickly kinda sucks. I imagine this game does not have a radio options, cuz I hope no drivers are listening to the radio in a race haha.
For brake assist, I always leave it fully off and just tune the brakes on a car to 60 percent so I can mash it down fully without locking it up. (Yes I know i'm still not learning really by that)
@SuperGT - The thought of learning both TC off and ABS off at the same time (had both on in F6) scares me and could ruin many peoples races. Which of the two would shorten my lap times the most. I'll practice them in SP.
Abs off will. Learn to brake in a straight line and eventually learn to trail brake. Shortening your braking distances will make your lap times MUCH shorter. Trail braking will also allow you to control oversteer/understeer in the corners. Subcsribe to driver 61 for driving videos. First thing I did in Forza 7 was turning off all assists except braking line I mean, come on, Super GT, ABS off is tricky? Pushing the left trigger slightly is tricky? I guess it was at first :/ Well, actually no, I did that after the first 10 or so seconds of my first ingame race, the assists feel like they strip you of control. I don't even know how cars in this game handle with ABS/TC/SC on, so, excellent video, mate!
The ONLY "assist" that I still bounce back and forth with that gives me doubts or nags me is sim steering. I love it because it feels like the turn in is better but god damn that snap oversteer that you just can't do anything about sometimes (especially in Horizon offroad races with jumps and the like) drive me bonkers. I bounce back and forth between traction control if I want to drive high HP rwd cars because honestly I'm pretty terrible at throttle control for whatever reason despite being able to easily run without abs for years O.o
I never bothered using clutch because there isn't much a point in using it over single button manual. Other than if you do it right it is a few milliseconds faster. Which means over an entire lap it might cut a half of a second off your time. Which doesn't ever seen to matter that much because there is almost always at least a second or two between me and the guy in front or behind me.
Kinda strange that you didn't even mention that you can turn while breaking with ABS on, and you your steering wheel locks while breaking with ABS off, so you can't turn while breaking. I know it might be obvious for some people, but it's kinda too important thing to not mention at all.
Steeeeve, don't know if you'll see this but thanks to you I have improved my lap times significantly, picked a wheel up a few weeks ago and I've finally been able to drive with no abs/no TRC etc.. however one thing for the life of me I can't get is the standing launch. By the time I've managed the throttle and the wheels stop lighting up I've dropped half the pack... Any tips???? Ad
I always have braking lines on, but I do realize that unless I'm deliberately practicing a track in a specific car, I really just tend to follow the line instead of trying to memorize the braking point. Not sure if it's really helping me this way, although it does make other players a lot safer in multiplayer lol.
Breh this shit really is guiding me to trust myself to not die when I care here to prevent myself from dying might as well turn everything off and accept it 😂 cause from the minute I hit a drift I’m dead😂
I knew something was wrong with these friggin brakes, I'm turning my ABS off now Like seriously? ABS prevents the lock up that you get with ABS off, as you said having ABS on does NOT slow your braking down, it just prevents the brakes from locking and sending you into a skid. I knew something felt off about FM7, now I know why.
Threshold braking is better and slightly faster than ABS for straight line braking but for braking in corners ABS is better. The modern ABS is not the old ABS, trying to beat the ABS systems of today is extremely hard to the point where it's not worth trying to. That's why they force drivers to not use it because it removes skill from the equation which they don't want. It does not give you 50% more braking power like it is in FM7. ABS systems are fine tuned so they don't work best for everything unless they program them to. An example of that would be snow use where ABS does not help you because they sacrificed programming more suited for better road conditions such as normal driving or driving in the rain. The key feature to ABS is braking while steering which is what makes it so damn good. This is modeled completely incorrectly in FM7. Not just the ABS but the TCS as well. Some cars need and work with TCS. Most modern cars today if not all of them use an advanced TCS system. It does not work the way you see it happening in Forza at all. Most of the time with TCS my car was trying to eat itself from all the forced stoppage as it applied near full brakes every time. I'm not sure what they did to the physics system but that's not right. Basically they went full arcade now and the systems aren't modeled correctly at all. The game has several other issues but these things should be basic. I don't even really care if they make racing without them slightly faster. But you can shave off at least 4-5 seconds per lap racing with ABS and TCS off for most cars and that's seriously not how those systems work and that's not what I was looking for in a racing game. I don't even care at this point I'm going back to Gran Turismo where I came from. I hate FM7, the game doesn't even work and I've given them more than enough time to fix it. on top of that the online racing is garbage. I don't know what happened to the series that pulled me away from GT to begin with but this isn't what I fell in love with since the first Forza. Edit: I would also like to add that the base tunes for cars are completely and total rubbish. Trying to race without touching these cars is near impossible. Like what in the world is Turn 10 doing making their physics and stock tunes so bad?????
It's a matter of choosing between breaking your leg and then using a splint to still kind of walk or just avoiding the broken leg entirely and being able to continue running at full speed. Most assists are a literal crutch, but instead of broken legs it's your broken driving.
Super gt assist in Forza 8 when you get knocked of track to back of the pack on the first lap super gt takes over your car and catches you back upto your original position
does friction assist have any effect on water puddles? With it off, the water pulls quite heavily on the car, is it better to avoid water puddles or just drive through them and compensate? The AI seems to bang through and sets lap times as if the sun is shining.
I know this is old video but i just recently got into forza 7 with controller. Usually im hardcore simulator guy, i have steering wheel, shifter, pedals with clutch and triple screen setup and usually play assetto corsa, assetto corsa competezione, raceroom, iracing, etc... I really enjoy forza 7 upgrading/tuning and going in rivals mode (as racing online in forza is complete derby clusterfuck) but i really dont like one thing in forza that assists such as abs and traction control are mixed in general settings for specialized cars such as gt3/gt4 class. Literally no one irl and in simulator scene driving those cars without any assists. You usually use very little amount (which again in forza is not possible to modulate abs/TC like in real cars). Also why game cant properly recognize which car have sequential gearbox? Thats ridiculous if i have to change every time when i get into proper race car with seq gearing from manual w clutch to just manual... Other than that game is really fun with lots of tracks, cars and game modes to play.
Hey super GT I only got the money to get one game on Xbox one what do you recommend Forza 7 or project cars 2 , I had forza 6 and loved it but people saying forza 7 is the same and waste of money and project cars offers more what’s your opinion, thanks .
I wouldn't recommend it if you have a wheel, either until you spend a lot of time adjusting the wheel settings / deadzones / damping / etc. Simulation steering is extremely unrealistic as well if you've ever driven a car at speed.
normal steering is the best option if you ask me. its not slower and you make less mistakes. faster steering is not needed on these wide big racetracks its all about smooth steering
Like everyone, I'm assuming, I used to drive with auto gears but now I can't imagine driving auto. Also I didn't realize that there was a vy ute in forza 7
@@gzfashions when you manual shift it takes a bit for the gears to actually go through the motions. If you’re quick, you can cut out most of that time. Less interruptions, it could definitely save some time
Other than becoming good at the game without using assists, what are the benefits of turning off the assists? I read that Forza 7 doesn't give you extra credits for playing without the assists enabled.
Thanks for the reply! This is a shame. I liked getting the extra credits in F6 for racing with the assists off. I don't really feel there is much incentive to turn any assists off now. I'm not sure if I'll get this. I'm still playing through F6 and Horizon 3.
for more challenge (I like to play the game for fun, not for winning every race), plus other players see on leaderboards what assists you had for your lap time. Also worth mentioning, that without assists you can get better times.
Any Motorsports fan knows that standard brakes(noABS) and no traction control+talent= the fastest lap time possible. If a racing series allows for TC it’s usually a cost saving measure and race drivers only use it on cold tires and bad weather and they would never use it in ideal conditions. Plus it would be impossible to simulate TC because manufacturers keep that tech secret. So it is unauthentic, to use in-game, at the least. Also, don’t you all want to know how to drive a race car? It is a very mechanical and challenging hobby and would encourage you to try simulation mode. Also you call yourself super gt yet you use normal steering mode and you try to convince people to set things up exactly the way YOU do. Because of people like you, some will never know the joy of Motorsports.
@XSAVIER busy Geez, I just want a game where I don't have to research everything about the car to choose the assists to get the most realistic experience, and i think pc2 just doesn't have enough cars, it doesn't have the Mazda 787b and doesn't even have Koenigseggs, I'm not buying a mfing pc to rely on mods, lol
Yes, if you‘re good at shifting you‘ll save time between shifts and you can slam the gears in more effectively with a clutch. But it‘s not easy for unskilled players
Yes manual clutch is faster if you know how to shift properly if you have your gears set up you can bang 2 to 3 years with 1 o’clock shift from 1st to 4th and then once you launch out of fourth you could drop 56 and you’re not gonna get touched if you want a six speed transmission the clutch will actually give you 2 to 3/10 off the line per second per lap
Great video! If anyone is interested found really great ffb wheel settings by a guy called TheBlue028 its totally transformed my tx wheel been playing this and pcars2 back to back i actually prefer fm7s ffb now. Love the channel and with fm7 and pcars 2 its a great time for racing games!
I thought the same but i realised forgot to switch the hand brake and clutch in the controller settings because it's a new game and now its fine. If you have done that then i don't know.
snop6176 when it's on, it brakes your wheels automatically so you don't slide, but it a little bit too much so if you have it off and learn when to apply more throttle you'll be faster
Scott York lol I haven’t played this online and I don’t think I will... most Forza players these days prefer to use your brakes instead of their own. Makes it a pointless exercise
very disappointed in this game, been playing the series for a few years and this is my most regrettable preorder ever. also very disappointed in vip, waste of my 20 fucking dollars
I'm loving it but then I haven't played it since FM4. The only thing VIP really gave us was a better start with collecting cars. This limited use mods thing is a bit poor. I can see what they were going for but attaching bonus credits to assists was much better. Now there's no penalty if you turn all assists on, especially for those that use cheaters rewind.
Deffenerst okay -not much graphical increase on normal xbox one -not many new cars -depending on who you are, the shitty car collection system - very few new cars -one new track to the series -god awful rivals -long load times -complete ripoff vip -stupid loot crate system, just a cheap cash grab -day one car pack being completely unrelated to track racing, purpose of the game -ai still stupid and no improvement -over-advertising stupid driver gear, cant even see that 9/10 of the time -cant just buy a stock car, have to go with stupid series bullshit and then go back and get rid of upgrades -game is way too grindy, need to work for hours to get a desired car -more microtransactions in the future, because everyone loves those right? -VIP BEING A COMPLETE FUCKING RIP OFF, DID I MENTION THAT? -many, many more
squishy nigga you can buy just a stock car or you could on 6. Graphics is prob on your end and not the game. Cuz it runs on 4k hdr cant get better then that. Upgrad your tech. Car pack for launch is for the drifting scene. Ken block is a legend. Never had a problem with slow loading unless the lobby got messed up. Most stuff u listed besides the ai would be fix as the game updates
The best assist in forza is definitely 'Use Car Infront As Brake'
😂😂😂
Best assist will always be the T1S setting, aka; Turn 1 Smash. This will ensure maximum carnage and salt thereby ensuring half or more of the track will be emotionally compromised for the remainder of the race or they'll rage quit. :3
Evil Black Cat I don’t think there will even be a remainder of the race with that on
I believe you mean the parking brake assist, where you put the controller down for the first 20 seconds knowing the kids with downs will be done bobbing up and down on turn 1 and 2 and you can then proceed to pass all of them.
beautifully said :3
I would love to see a hardcore lobby where the game forces you to run with all assists off

For brake assist, I always leave it fully off and just tune the brakes on a car to 60 percent so I can mash it down fully without locking it up. (Yes I know i'm still not learning really by that)

Make a video where you map the throttle and brake to X and B. And upshift and downshift mapped to triggers 😂😂😂 please
Why the fuck does he only have 45k subs...
Hey super GT I only got the money to get one game on Xbox one what do you recommend Forza 7 or project cars 2 , I had forza 6 and loved it but people saying forza 7 is the same and waste of money and project cars offers more what’s your opinion, thanks .
COYZEE100 if you got wheel go with pc2.
if not stick with Forza mate!!
COYZEE100 fm7 for sure it is much better dan fm 6
Nice!
did you ever switch to simulation steering on pad or too cray
Hi, can you do a similar clip for Gran Turismo Sport? Maybe tell what settings you use in that game?
Hey Super GT, do you personally find sim steering better/faster?
He doesnt use it cause he w
Has controller, i wouldnt recommend doing sim on comtroller spinedctr
I wouldn't recommend it if you have a wheel, either until you spend a lot of time adjusting the wheel settings / deadzones / damping / etc. Simulation steering is extremely unrealistic as well if you've ever driven a car at speed.
normal steering is the best option if you ask me. its not slower and you make less mistakes. faster steering is not needed on these wide big racetracks its all about smooth steering
Great video, thank you. What track is that, at 16:20 ?
It’s the Airplane Test track.
Like everyone, I'm assuming, I used to drive with auto gears but now I can't imagine driving auto.
Also I didn't realize that there was a vy ute in forza 7
Does manual w/ clutch setting help decrease track times?? Basically is it proven to be a faster method that just manual?
Quicker shifts
@@zachb1706 how much quicker maybe a few tenths of a second? Over many laps I could see why it could be beneficial!
@@gzfashions when you manual shift it takes a bit for the gears to actually go through the motions. If you’re quick, you can cut out most of that time. Less interruptions, it could definitely save some time
@@zachb1706 so you’re saying manual with clutch takes a little to get use to but definitely worth it?
@XSAVIER busy so it doesn’t really make a difference?
Normal steering is so much easier than Simulated steering when using a wheel
thanks for the video . im not confused anymore lmao
I've not caught any MP yet but have the adressed rammers/cutters in any way?
I have always used simulation steering but, I can't tell the difference between normal and simulation.
How do you turn on the pass bars so that I can know that I've passed some of the cars?
manual/w clutch depends... cuz having manual/w clutch on f1 car is .... YOKE xD
Turn them all off. Put AI on unbeatable.
ins1deman Whitaker basically lol
game's still too easy if you pick a tuned car. so you have to do that PLUS pick an underwhelming untuned car.
I need a guide on how to get to the assist menu
You got any good settings for the g920 thanks
Where was the Moses effect setting?
in the noob section
I've become a better driver with all assists off and I'm loving the Ferrari's.
Other than becoming good at the game without using assists, what are the benefits of turning off the assists? I read that Forza 7 doesn't give you extra credits for playing without the assists enabled.
Tallus08 you will increase your lap times with the assists off. That is the only benefit.
Are you using the same advanced settings for Forza 7?
Advanced controller settings?
I wish there was manual sequential
So it's exactly the same as the last game then, and the one before, and the one before
Except for the different settings and the new assist? XD
Why Manual with clutch thou? any benefits vs just Manual?
powershifting so you get more of a kick going up a gear if you keep the throttle pinned
Does it have an "authentic" setting that emulates the features of the cars like in project cars 2?
@XSAVIER busy Geez, I just want a game where I don't have to research everything about the car to choose the assists to get the most realistic experience, and i think pc2 just doesn't have enough cars, it doesn't have the Mazda 787b and doesn't even have Koenigseggs, I'm not buying a mfing pc to rely on mods, lol
Each assist slows you down a bit. The less assists you use the faster you will be only harder to drive. Very simple
On the whole yes, but TCS and Manual only can be better in certain cars.
The best assist are super gt and mosses :)
Controller guide pls
0:08 lol look at his big head and small body
is manual with clutch faster than without?
Love the channel and with fm7 and pcars 2 its a great time for racing games!
manual with clutch really weird now cant get a clean shift
I thought the same but i realised forgot to switch the hand brake and clutch in the controller settings because it's a new game and now its fine. If you have done that then i don't know.
why not use simulation steering? why normal?
dima peregon
I mean, if you have a wheel, stimulation is harder as fuck with a controller. Lol
I’ve been using simulation steering for ages without knowing what the difference was and I’ve never had any issues with it
I still don't understand why traction control being off makes you faster
snop6176 when it's on, it brakes your wheels automatically so you don't slide, but it a little bit too much so if you have it off and learn when to apply more throttle you'll be faster
Oh ok. That actually makes a lot of sense. thanks man
snop6176 welcom
Why is there no tag virus????
Fuckin' hell he could pass as my brother 😭
Did you really say 'drive properly in this game"? Very few want to do the right thing.
Now there's no penalty if you turn all assists on, especially for those that use cheaters rewind.
at least say some reasons or u look like a random troll
Deffenerst okay
-not much graphical increase on normal xbox one
-not many new cars
-depending on who you are, the shitty car collection system
- very few new cars
-one new track to the series
-god awful rivals
-long load times
-complete ripoff vip
-stupid loot crate system, just a cheap cash grab
-day one car pack being completely unrelated to track racing, purpose of the game
-ai still stupid and no improvement
-over-advertising stupid driver gear, cant even see that 9/10 of the time
-cant just buy a stock car, have to go with stupid series bullshit and then go back and get rid of upgrades
-game is way too grindy, need to work for hours to get a desired car
-more microtransactions in the future, because everyone loves those right?
-VIP BEING A COMPLETE FUCKING RIP OFF, DID I MENTION THAT?
-many, many more
squishy nigga you can buy just a stock car or you could on 6. Graphics is prob on your end and not the game. Cuz it runs on 4k hdr cant get better then that. Upgrad your tech. Car pack for launch is for the drifting scene. Ken block is a legend. Never had a problem with slow loading unless the lobby got messed up. Most stuff u listed besides the ai would be fix as the game updates
Thrillseeker they better give back everyones money for vip and fix rivals, then i would be a little bit more happy with this game
