In life, you can't control the wind, but you can control the sail. I think people have varying degrees of control over their emotions depending on how much stress there was when their brain was developing. Sometimes it takes a lot of work to be able to choose to remain calm and not everyone can do it from where they're starting, but it is something the brain is capable of adapting to be able to learn to do. There is a difference between remaining calm and not buying in to panic
This is a very valid point. If someone is dealing with PTSD or CPTSD, for example, helping the body to be calm is not going to be even remotely easy to accomplish in comparison to someone is generally mentally, emotionally and physically safe and healthy, and laid back by nature.
@PainFreeYou Hey Dan. Do you think sometimes think how weird it is that auto immune like arthritis or chrons or almost anythjjgb else could be TMS/anxiety ? Very hard time beleiving that. But u have many success stories its imposisblr not to
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dan, for all that you share with us! Your free content is helping me more than anything else I've tried (and believe me, what I have tried over the 26-year-long journey with symptoms would fill a book!) Which brings me to a question--will there be a paper copy of your book available eventually? I see the Kindle version is available for pre order. I'm so looking forward to reading it, whatever the format. Thank you thank you!!
Hi Lenneke ! For some reason my replies to you on my posts don't seem to post ! Wishing you a very Happy and peaceful Christmas.. ❤🎅☃️🌲 Hope you have a wonderful time ! xx ❤❤❤

Great quotes Inge. Calm is a learned response to situations. I was very impulsive giving no forethought to difficult situations in my life. I didn't even realise I was making a choice. I carried this response on towards my symptoms, until I had the understanding of what was truly going on, and became clear that it's not my body Its my brain perceiving danger, it's much easier to stay calm. Does your little village get busy at this time of year? It does here. Hope life is treating you kind. Blessings.
@@SusieV59so good to read how far you’ve come already ! No , between Christmas 🎄 and New year it’s extremely calm here. Foreign people go back to their country, the original elder people are invited to stay a couple of days with their children.. in bigger cities.. After New year village life starts again, and there is a big new year ´party ‘🎉.. The village is beautifully decorated now and we love the extra calmness.🤶🙋♀️
@EllieJ-kd6dlyou too Ellie! I’m estranged from my 2 eldest kids and my youngest daughter travels the world.. step kids travel the world too so it’s just my husband and me but I love it❤
You dont have to be 100% correct in doing things, you don't have to practice things like an expert, you just have to ignore yourself your pain and just get on with your day. Ignoring is the best option.
Whether you are clinging to something or pushing it away, both are indicating that you're trapped. The answer is not to ignore, but to accept and allow. That also doesn't mean giving in, it just means that you accept the fact that it's happening right now, and realize that it's okay.
Hi Dan thank you for that that is the key to remain calm to bring your nervous system into resr and digest State not always in a fight flight freeze state it's also good for tinnitus to stay calm or any pain. Question I'm doing a self massage for a minute to ease the tightness in my back not sure if it's from exercise or the brain but I still do it to try to ease the tightness around the SI joint and arnica cream to see if that will help I don't want to prolong the healing though
Dan, I have asked you questions many times and absolutely am grateful beyond words for your responses. Through your methods I have pretty much got my life back on track I am am now going through a little relapse that am confused in how to handle. My main symptom has always been dizziness and stiffness. Sciatica is always lingering and a few days ago I overstretched and had horrible nerve pain down my calve and in my foot. It's quite evident that the more I bend and stretch in certain positions this nerve pain gets worse. Rest makes it better. So do I avoid movement or plough on aggravating it ?

Yes. If you're talking about scintillating scotoma - bright zigzag lines across the visual field. They''re also genetic, my maternal grandmother had them, but with calm and some controlled breathing you can get rid of them in about half an hour. I worked on a headache clinic in a major neurology department and conventional wisdom is that headache sufferers tend to be tired, dehydrated and drink too much caffeine. Granted the mind/body component, but it might help to consider the other things too. I get it when I haven't had enough sleep or water.
I get them and they start for me when I start straining my eyes too much. To much computer work or to much bright light . I just ignore them and they always go away. It’s annoying but they will go away 😊
@Lenneke8422-b3t Have a wonderful peaceful Christmas Lenneke... ❤🎅☃️ I'm coming off my phone for a few days now so I can be fully present with myself and everything around me for Christmas... ❤❤❤ xx

Change the way you think and feel to change.
When's the book coming Dan. Waiting eagerly
Is disvalidating symptoms with annoyance, anger ok?

You have one foot in the brake...get off the brake so you can move forward.
Do migraine auras work the same way?
