  • I've been looking for a fountain pen with a flexible nib to be able to do line variations when I draw. Kind of like with a dip pen, but more portable. I'll be sharing my experience with different pens and nibs as I'm experimenting and hopefully find what I'm looking for.
This time I made my own frankenpen by removing the original nib from a Jinhao X750 fountain pen and replacing it with a G nib.

I received a 450 and an X750 with these nibs installed. Neither would feed properly. Then I watched a video by Kristina Greke in which she alters the radius of the nib with pliers and this was done and gave immediate results. You must have hit the sweet spot with this one, and I wish I had a fraction of your talent. I do like the X750 and have about 5 of them. Going to try this with an unlinked 159 I have. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻

The only issue is that this half the life of the nib, as these nibs rust, so the ink accelerate the rusting process.
These nibs are mainly used with dip pen and dried after use to extend their life.

This is great! I will definitely be giving it a shot. Have you had any experience with leaking with the G Nib in place?

Looks easy enough. Can the pen be capped with this G nib installed?

Yes it can. I just put a G nib on an X750 for the first time. If installed properly, it should cap without issue. Comparing it side by side to an unmodified X750, the G nib is a millimeter or two longer than the original nib.

Hello. Maybe you can help me?
I've bought Jinhao 450 and Zebra G nib, but after installation I found a problem-when ink is loaded into the cartridge, it begins to flow out.
I tried to install an another nib, bend and fix it but nothing helps.
    What could be the problem?
    Thank you in advance.
    (ps: sorry for my English)
