997 is the king of the modern porsches, base or turbo looks wise and engine, this might hurt some people but 996 is plain ugly, the headlights are hideous imo. 991.1 back light bar looked extremely stupid also but I think they fixed it in the update.
I agree on the Runny Egg Pre face lift versions. They don’t look nice. But the Facelifted Turbo and Carrera versions (with the sharp headlights) are some of the best looking Modern 911s imo. 997 looks bulbous and chunky. I understand that it’s a subjective choice, but 996 was the last great looking 911 imo. Then Cayman took the crown of the Beautiful looking Porsche in my eyes.

I don't really think about which is best. Best at what? Looks, handling, raw feel. I have a tuned 996 TurboS, a 993 C4S in guards red, and a 911 SC I've had 40 years. Each is different and the sounds, smells, and experience differs. Performance wise, the TTS blows everything away; engine and exhaust sound, I prefer the 993. But just for raw feel with no nannies to help me I prefer my 2700 lb SC with headers. Certain Fall days I just prefer to remove the targa top and take the SC on a curvy road, other days I want to see those wide hips on the 993, but nothing feels like a Turbo when it comes on boost. The discussion of which is best is too subjective for me.

Correct. 997 Turbo is the best looking of the water cooled cars and has a manual. And it's still relatively small compared to 991 and 992. 993 is the GOAT however.

It should sit flush in his ear, not stick out twisted at a weird angle like that. The eartip points forward at an angle so it inserts properly but it looks like he spun it around to get it to go in which it shouldn't need to do. Maybe he has it half way out to hear background noise or something and it's making it look messed up.

The 993 is and will always be the best Porsche made. It is peak Porsche design and maintains the connection to the past while still being modern. The 997.2 is second and is really an amazing value in used Porsches.
Talking about manuals being so cool as you can drive them. I guarantee none of you can drive the manual the way it should and could be driven. You will just have it so you can look down on other people and explain how cool it is while money shifting.

Personally though, I like the many different variants it had, including the first Turbo with AWD which made it much faster and probably safer than the 964, and the first GT2 variant. I agreee! I have a 997.2 Targa 4S with every (non cosmetic) option except PCCB. Suffice to say it's not for sale! A little sad now that it's got 41K miles, but it's fully wrapped with PPF to keep it nice.
