Picked these up 2 days ago and absolutely love them so far. I tested them in the store for close to 1h against the XM4, XM5, B&O HX and Bose 700, and there was a notable difference in my opinion. The HX has more clarity in some very specific situations but 4 out of 5 times I enjoyed the Px7 more. They are also very comfortable and look sexy as hell, I got the blue and gold 🔥

a slight correction - Bluetooth version is 5.2, not 5.0 as mentioned in the video. Even the Bowers & Wilkins official website

When you do the comparison with the XM5, do you mind adding in a test with wind and/or airplane noise for the microphone test? It seems many reviewers have only tested the microphone in a controlled environment but lacked the more real world practical use case that seems important if a call was needed out on the go. Furthermore, it seems that the initial general consensus is that the PX7 S2 has a more well tuned audio profile but curious if the "sound quality" on a tuned XM5 through EQ can match a respectable level to the PX7 S2. Also any audio samples would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Just fyi - regarding previous model, I hope this one will be much better:
Headphone B&W PX7 - strongly NOT recommended after 2Y of using!
Device bought on: 23.03.20 - Polish distributor (366 EUR)
27.06.20 - complete failure of the left handset, no sound
23.07.20 - fix for maintenance service (!), earpad not correctly positioned
16.05.22 - full around unsticking of left earpad on gluing line, the contents (sponge) went out - not covered by the warranty
23.07.22 - complete failure of the right handset, no sound - after a 2-year warranty period
After weeks of discussion, I got message that repair cost is similar to cost of buying a new one headphone (!).
At the same time, I also bought B&O H9 3rd gen (for other family member) - till now working smoothly, no issue.

I don’t really see the benefit of a 60h battery unless everything else is 10/10. I would rather have 30-40h and save some of the weight, who needs to go several days without charging? If you’re working you are not in a tent, and there is no phone on the market that can match the battery so you have to get to a charging point anyway

I am considering these to replace my Sennheiser Momentum 3. One important “feature” for me would be to be able to turn ANC off. Weirdly enough you cannot do that on the Momentum 4.

The new PX7 2 have so much better dynamics, transient rendering and much higher resolution. The bass is clearer and is well separated from the lower midrange. For the first 100 hours there was a hint of confinement and a nasal effect on voices. With it comes off after about 150 hours.

I'm rocking Sennheiser Momentum 3 as they seemed to win all categories except for battery & call clarity.
Been considering picking up a pair of PX7 for months... then surprisingly saw these, and here i am! Didn't even know they were coming
The design is clearly revamped PX5, so i didn't think positively initially, at first i thought they'd gone backwards! PX7 are quite modern design and unique with Carbon-Fiber, i thought it was too soon to be going with a revamped retro throwback look.
Though you seem to have nothing but praise for them with sound and battery so thats good news. So i'm sure ill get used to the design and end up with them😅, instead of snapping-up PX7 on sale.
Though Momentum 4 are supposed to be coming soon 🤷🏻 and the mysterious PX8 flagship you mention!
Been considering a Zeppelin, so being able to use 1 B&W app for both would be a great! Though i have to say, B&W app and support reviews are horrific 😰, which is another reason i haven't picked up PX7 yet.
Sadly i'm currently in the Apple ecosystem, so i wont get best quality sound 😢. & I wont be going back to Android anytime soon bc of numerous privacy reasons that are too numerous to ignore anymore.
    Edit 22.11.22 -
Still running Momentum 3 indoors, & Sony XM3 outside for yardwork etc
B&W updated their app and now it works pretty great, also got a Zeppelin and I'm blown away by sound quality, build and how stable it is with new App.
I tried the PX7 S2 and was disappointed. Cheap plasticky build, but decent sound. Doesn't feel like it's worth AUD$550ish.
New PX8 seems amazing but paying over 1k for closed back ANC headphones is just plain greed. Thinking of picking up a Carbon edition PX7 at a nice discount

I don't use their iCloud service either, and I only occasionally use Safari, so I'm not really enveloped in their system.
Android started insisting on location access for me to use simple Bluetooth, which it has never needed and doesn't need. Completely unreasonable and brazen push for info. So that was the last straw.
Apple doesn't ask for location to Bluetooth, infact Apple doesn't complain at all if location is turned off all together.
Android is constantly giving notifications about 'apps & processes may not work properly with blah blah permissions turned off ' and it drives me nuts. If you don't give stock/integrated Google apps open access to everything it complains constantly.
I'm aware you can't really trust any devices as they take your info behind the scenes anyway, I just don't want to agree to their permissions to openly legalise what they are doing.

It seems that Bowers & Wilkins are remedying everything that’s wrong with the PX7s via the S2s. The muddied and boomy mid bass and clipping at either ends of the audio spectrum are maddening-especially at a $399 price point. Plus, the S2s are not akin to wearing clamps on your head. It’s highly unusual for B &W to slip on quality, but the PX7s are really sub-par for such a great company.
