When people slate her lovely voice, I think they forget she's only a tiny woman with a tiny frame so she was never going to have a voice like Celine Dion. Nor would I want her to. Performances like this show what a beautiful tone she has. I wish she would record these songs with Jools. It would be stunning.
@violinia LW isn't the authority on anyone's voice. I'm sorry, but the truth is, kylie can sing, and has a plenty great voice. You might not like HOW she sings, but she can, and she does. She has lasted this long because she's a genuinely good entertainer, and if you listen to her Impossible Princess album, a damn good writer too.
Michael Barr was a truly gifted composer. Michael wrote the music while Dion McGregor provided the lyrics. Kylie Minogue does their song justice with her rendition.
I know she can't sings as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera, Adele,etc.. But she has a tastey and delicious voice to listen. I'm not a blinded fan I don't think all she's doing is perfect ( she has great momenta and bad ones), but I love her voice and I'm so pleasant to listen to her :D

@violinia I get your point, but a great voice does not guarantee a great career which is sad, Amy Winehouse is a fantastic singer, but I heard more about her personal life than her music even though she's very talented, the same problem that Britney Spears had in 2007 when she released Blackout. Both their albums were very well received by critics but the media were very horrible and judgemental to them. Kylie's voice is not brilliant but a lot better than most of the dross in the top 40.

And I've found countless comments all over the internet saying the exact same thing - she's a hyped up celeb who's got where she is by hype, (botoxed!) appearance and her undoubted ability to perform well. There's no accounting for taste but if you really think she sings well it makes me wonder if you would recognise a really good voice if it came up and bit you!
And sure she's worked with all those people - she has more mainstream appeal and fame than any of them so it isn't rocket science to work out why they might want to associate themselves with her...

She's good at best and nasal on bad days but a fantastic overall entertainer. I can't believe Kylie has the nerve to put her 'voice' to Blossom Dearie's songs. Blossom Dearie had class and quality - Kylie's only class and quality is in her appearance and stage performance. So you think people have bought this woman's records and made her one of the biggest artists of the last 2 generations because she looked good in hot pants 20 years ago. How stupid are you.
Fair question. I watched Jools Holland the other night and was pretty shocked by the mediocrity of her voice so came here to see if anyone else had the same view. I saw Kylie the year before last and last year at a cost of £60 and £50 (keep in mind that one hasn't released anything in years and the other is a still-successful recording artist) and got 2 competely different setlists and shows at 2 hours a piece.
