Man this is the year, we got so many young guys, give them a taste of the playoffs so they strive for nothing less in the future.
Pirates won’t do that. It’s like they’d rather lose than possibly win. Every year it’s the same lame excuse/thing. We’re building for the future not now. They either aren’t smart enough or don’t care that what they miss is the time is now!

Our manager and coaches have cost us at least six games....that would have put us in the first wildcard spot. Da'wreck and Paines need to go....

As a fan I say we got a chance, but the people that are in charge should be this and so much more. Next season is too far away when what is going on now is more important. Get some bats. Win now it's what is at hand. Thanks DK Great show

My question is, is Cherrington even a fan of baseball? Is he the kind of guy who would ever attend a ballgame if he wasn't employed by a team? we as fans are emotionally invested in the team, but it seems that guys like Cherrington and Williams it's just a business.
Hope is not a plan.
Coming back to this after that 9th inning comeback:
Wow!! What a rally. Why do the best games always happen on Fridays, when there’s no episode for two days. I gotta admit, it felt like that game was going to be a hard reality check through the early innings, but they just kept chipping away. Against the best team in baseball. Some big time at bats in the late innings. Colin Holderman is back.
I know it’s just one game, but if they win the next two series, Cherington has to make a move, right? They’re a .5 game out and have won 7 of their last 10.
As much as i would like to disagree with you on your ownership and front office assesment as a fan,i find i just cant in anyway find fault with any of it. Nutting and his philosphy is the anchor that weighs down all.
If we lose: “it’s a good thing we didn’t buy”
If we win: “see we just beat all these good teams, I knew we didn’t have to buy.

They need to go out and get Brent rooker. Two reasons. They need a cleanup hitter that can actually clear the bases and secondly prevent the Phillies from getting him. Because if the phils get him i think it's lights out in the national league.
Would Nutting consider selling the team now that Skenes is in the roster? The asking price is at its apex NOW!

Just no excuse for not adding, wouldn't even have to give up much trade wise to get one bat. Brent Rooker making what $700-800,000 a year? .291 avg, 21 homers at the break. 3 years of control left. Isaac Paredes, 15 homers at the break, $1.4 million left on his contract, same kind of control left. There are very obtainable bats and all star level players. Rooker all star last year and should have been this year easily. Paredes, another all star.
Cherington bought Taylor for $4 million this year instead..Suwinski at .174 avg for his 9 homers is unacceptable. They aren't even trying. Drafting high school players?! Tells me all I need to know.
Nutting gets the patch deal with Sheetz and throws a community party as his thank you with a few ball players and pockets the deal money. They can't blame the size of their market because there are teams that do it without huge payrolls like the Guardians and Rays over the years. Whatever the reason is or why it happens doesn't really matter to me.. it isn't happening though nothing will be done with the league itself putting pressure on them with rule changes. He isn't concerned with local city officials challenging him. More bobbleheads, dollar hot dogs, and Hawaiian shirt days. Be happy we are told as fans, you have a team to watch. It isn't that serious we are told.
Here's the funny thing, the other teams that already have leads in the divisions are going to load up. I can see someone like the Phillies or a similar team getting Rooker and others. I'm still shaking my head after learning how easy it was for the Padres to get Luis Arraez earlier this year. Hoard more minor league players for what?! Bring someone up now if you aren't going to make a trade. Do something. I give the Pirates a 5% chance to make the playoffs if the current team is all that remains. Literally everything has to go right, they have to win, and the other teams have to start losing a lot. It is just very hard to see it happening. Cherington reminds me of that executive that wants to preserve his own job while ruining the company and others' careers along the way. Always next year, get used to it. Let's go Bucs!
Cutch was drafted out of high school....very common in baseball

I was excited til you named the starter for this weekend. Why should I care if the Pirates Mickey Mouse ownership and coaches don’t? Martin Perez is 1-5, 5.15 ERA. That’s the best of the bunch you named and we need to win to stay in it. Such a trash owner and leadership group and I’m completely sick of it! Going into games EXPECTING TO LOSE! It’s insanity!
