Well I just got the game I noticed the MSR is in it. I really do want the M110 and M40A5 tho 😭 so much for my USMC scout sniper character from wildlands 😭 I don't think they even have MARPAT in this shit smh
@Marc Michaud while that is the case, the G28 has been adopted recently with some branches instead of the M110, it still doesn't explain why one of the most iconic/well used marksmen rifles, is not available in this game, several SF units around the world still choose the M110 or the SR25 ahead of the G28
So much yes. The M4A1 scout and 416 scout are easily my favorite due to the fact you can use 3rd person to use them as ASRs in normal circumstances(I'm a Semi-auto guy) and the switch to 1st person when you need to scope in. The G28 and MK14 along with their variants are always great choices. And the Scorpio Scout is def deserving of No.1, because lets be honest it's a straight up sniper rifle :) EDIT: Also wanted to point out that I noticed all the way back in Wildlands and it seems to be true in Breakpoint also. The stats don't seem to mean anything. Just try out a bunch of guns and see which one you like best. I'm an M4 guy so I use M4 types :) In wildlands the P416 was the very first gun you got and I loved it so much I used it and only replaced it when the MK18 and 416 were added to the store.
The damage is irrelevant it you head shot, which you clearly aren't doing or you don't alert the base, even then there isn't much difference if you actually tried the different DMR's anyway.
@@Who79Dat That is the real answer.. Headshots are the best TTK in this game. The reason to have a high power SNR is for very long range when landing headshots can be very difficult. But I find with the DMRs and like with the right perks I can land headshots at below 250 meters very easily.. so the long distance rifles are only useful in situations where 1)you need to stand off a lot; or 2) when you are fighting something with a deep health pool and good armor (ground drones and behemoths). For all wolves engagements (higher armor opponents) I tend to use ASRs and just headshot them at 120m or so.

I would have been shocked if the Scorpio Scout did not get #1. It's so good, I use it for almost everything. It even replaced the TAC 50 for me, unless it is a really long shot. However, I did a kill today with it at 500+? Couldn't read all of the numbers, I'm OLD & eye sight is now so good. I used to be a top sniper and top pistol in real life (retired LEO). 🙂
I'd agree with everyting up to the #1 choice because of the technical definition and real world application verse the way the classification was handled in this game.
I run the mk14 for everything. CQC and mid-long range. The fire rate is what sells me on it along with the other stats of course. The mk14 fire rate makes it perfect for literally everything
The Scorpio Scout is my favourite DMR and use the Silent version as my goto paired with the Dual-Scope letting me switch from Sniping to CQC. I use its bigger brother as my goto Sniper Rifle.
o.O M110 for close to medium and FRF2 for range, less bullet drop then other DMR's, negligible drop at 500-520m, clear whole bases with it. Have two shot land drones at 561m with the FRF2. As to damage, if you head shot, which you should be endeavoring to do almost everything is one shot anyway.
Someone probably done this before, but i really like to do a “Recce” rifle setup. So basically what you need is either the 416 or M4A1 scout, both are AR15 style rifles that have at least 30 round mags and an option for the dual range sight, or the VC16 lpvo. I like to have the 416 scout with a dual range scope, suppressor, beyer mawl, dual range sight, stock is personal preference but i like the ctr slk, and the shift short angled grip, or afg, but i like reload speed so i use the shift model more. This combined with weapon mastery makes for a rifle set up that can do just about anything you need it to if you aim well
I hope we can craft weapons at our current gear score in the future, because all the dlc weapons are locked at 250 and never drop from killing enemies. I personally i never use dlc weapons (but i want to), for the simple reason they lower my gear score.
Scorpio Scout with the damage stat and only 5 round magazine should be considered a sniper rifle. One reason I like DMRs is that carry a higher capacity and fire quickly.

The Scorpio Scout isn't a DMR at all to me. It's a sniper plain and simple. Only 5 rounds with moderately high damage and range, just like the other light snipers.

Looking forward to the SMG vid, hoping the MP5 does well but this past week been getting to grips with the UMP and I gotta say it's quickly becoming a firm favourite. Just wish both MP5 and UMP had access to the MAWL. Will say it's weird with Wildlands couldn't get away from using snipers and DMR's but with Breakpoint my constant go to is the SMG's. Anyone else find their preferences or styles changed between games?
I ran through Wildlands with ASR and Sniper combo mostly, but in Breakpoint I'm using DMRs and SMGs way more. Did a full campaign run on extreme with the G28 and a pistol too. The variety of weapons is superb to be fair.
An exotic yet comfy one is the aug scout. Use it as a full blown dmr and it’ll work pretty nice. The acss sight makes it work real comfy. Not the best of the best but a very accurate and lethal option.
Agree completely with 2&3 mk14 has versatility most none of the others provide. Definitely a 'ranger' rifle. Would've picked m1101 or m1011(?) As number 1 myself tho. But agree nonetheless.
Late to the party again. I've been using the M110 since it's been added to the game, and honestly it is the cleanest piece of weaponry I've used. I actually struggle to keep it out of my load out, just because of how satisfying it is to use.

For me 1. Scorpio 2. Mk17 3. 416 4. G28 (and two others I use as a DMR) 5. Silver Stake 6. ARX200 And honestly Mk14 especially the Assault variant is one of me least favorites haha it's just not my type of DMR but I can see how it's popular.
Not gonna lie I wasn't sure the Scorpio Scout was gonna be number 1 and was getting a little salty lmao. Scorpio Scout is the only DMR worth using. Crazy damage for the speed and handling it has.
I'm a max level marksman and my top dmr is the Scorpio scout I believe you can get it in the sharpshooter class for me it's the best fast bolt action and good accuracy over all 10/10
If you’re playing on realism you cannot go wrong with the m4 scout. It’s longer range then a battle rifle yet more versatile and agile then a full blown dmr. Plus you have nice and sensitive trigger so follow up shots are nice and easy. Add a 30 round mag as well? It’s really nice. It’s to me the perfect mountain gun, for the game obviously. Slap a bipod, mawlda, dual range scope, and a suppressor and you’ll never look back. If you’re playing with one rifle and a pistol this’d be the gun I’d choose. It’s only weakness is stopping power(pretty much everything outside an anti material rifle is) and you can’t use a m203 so anti armor is lacking. I compensate for that by using an m32 as my secondary and the 5.7 as my pistol. With it, I can handle damn near anything...except behemoths...fuck those evil things and those who are weapon for their existence.

I find this game very confusing to learn. I think I am going to have to turn off gear level. There are so many commands that I am not yet able to even play the game as I would like. I am used to controls like Sniper Elite....which is very simple to play compared to this game. I like the game but as of yet it I am horrible.
The #1 is my favorite as well. And the honorable mention is actually my second favorite. Nice video. Haven’t really used the others in the list yet.

Been giving Ghost Recon Breakpoint a go recently and I really love the Scorpio Scout, god damn it feels great.

All marksmen rifles can be snipers. Only thing a dmr needs is precision and range. Fire rate is useless at 300-500 m which is your range as a dmr user

Why have dmr/sniper when u can have silver stake, and i usually just use shotgun for close range and silver stake for mid/Long range
