I actually see him as a cross between David Carradine in Kung Fu and George Harrison. The way he dies in ME3 is pretty similar to how Harrison checked out: survives getting stabbed only to have your disease kill you off because the stab wounds weakened your body.
Thane is a hero and earned his redemption and rest and proved even as a very sick man to be the best assassin In the galaxy. Rest well Thane no matter how the galaxy turns out at least for my Shepherd and his family you woudnt be forgotten.
Shepard: Thane, please say hi to Mordin and Legion for me on the other side of the shore. If you happen to find Benezia, Nilus, and Saren there, say hi to them too. And please, tell them I may be able to join you all, either victorious or having done my very best to stop the Reapers.

I still love his line on his death bed that a Cerberus assassin was thwarted by sick and injured drell, and that he should be ashamed of himself for that.
@@lorenzorossi9093 Understand that but there's something about shoving an omniblade into the chest of your squadmate's murderer right after you shatter his sword that just works better for me.
Yeah it is way cooler. But killing the man that tried to kill you and ruin your plan to save the galaxy is satisfying too and knowing that he knows that he fucked up
Kalahira, this one's heart is pure, but beset by wickedness and contention. Guide him to where all hunters return, where all storms become still, where all stars show the path. Guide him, Kalahira, and he will be a companion to you as he was a friend to me.
If I may make a suggestion, whenever you cover a Mass Effect character, race, organisation or creature, you could play Vigil by Jack Wall. If there isn't any copyright infringement, this is from the main menu of original Mass Effect and was played in Mass Effect 3 whenever one of your crew/former crew died.
In the end, i prefer the first mass effect but gota say, except maybe Jack (though i learned to like her in the end) Mass Effect 2 gave us amazing characters!
Eideticmemory is a double edged sword in high school it served me well for remembering random trivia and facts as I've grown older it has become a hammer by which the guilt of my past bludgeons me
As I tell people when they ask me what an eidetic memory is like: "You remember all those times in your childhood when you were completely humiliated, terrified or miserable?" "Yeah." "So do I."
(the prayer was not for him Commander, it was for you) Man, his death scene still kills me. The first time I went through it I cried and had a lump the size of a basketball in my throat...
i'm always impressed by their videos especially does talking about games with multiple ending you do a good job of explaining all the different choices in it, keep it up

A FemShep playthrough, romancing Thane, is one of the most rewarding, bittersweet moments I’ve ever had gaming. What a great character; what a great story arc.
Potential Nitpick: 6:20ish, when talking about Thane dying on the Collector Base, and someone else saving the Asari councillor - or no one at all, was that supposed to be the Salarian councillor?
Well yeah, the Hold the Line Salarian is who takes Thane's place if Thane dies in ME 2. But the councillor that is saved is the Salarian Councillor, not the Asari Councillor, isn't it?
The assassination that is prevented is against the Salarian Councilor if you chose to save the Council in ME1. Not sure if a different Councilor is the target if you chose to let them die. If Thane is not the one that prevents the assassination, it will be Kirrahe that stops the attempt (by standing in the line of fire while cloaked) But what I love most of all about the Templin's choice of words is how it subtly encompasses ALL possible endings for Thane through this part. Because of the open-ended nature of the game and the consequences in different playthroughs there is not one definitive conclusion. Templin took that fact and weaved it effortlessly into this Dossier. I love it!
I grew to have great respect for his character and almost cried at times when I knew I was coming to his pass in the game and I would almost join in on the prayer too
You need to do all of Shepard's crew now starting with the crew from mass effect 2 minus Garrus and Tali then the new people added in mass effect 3 and the original grew from mass effect for last with Shepard being the very last.
I love these. I hope to see one for Thrall and Rexxar from Warcraft, or Revan from Star Wars, or Belegar Ironhammer, Alith Anar, Grombrindal the White Dwarf, or Morathi from Warhammer.
Its not even a real religion but i really wanna know more about the drell beliefs. Kinda wish it were possible to have a deep discussion about it with thane, it would probably be amazing.

i swear im not crying :(
Thanes mortal coil may be lost, but his spirit will continue to guide the lost and scared.
@@allangibeau9789 I cried. One of the saddest, yet most beautiful moments in Mass Effect
Damn it who’s cutting onions at this time!
Thane is a brilliant character. Complex, dark, good, clear, conflicted. Great video.
I threw away his life in the suicide mission because i wanted tali's butty in mass effect 3
This guy sounds like an odd combo of Gandhi and John Wick.
You need to play the Mass Effect games.
I actually see him as a cross between David Carradine in Kung Fu and George Harrison. The way he dies in ME3 is pretty similar to how Harrison checked out: survives getting stabbed only to have your disease kill you off because the stab wounds weakened your body.
.....surprisingly accurate.
i haven't watched the video, but this is still hilarious for some reason
Thane is badass man
Damn it, Templin, you've given me the most contagious disease known to humanity.....
Nostalgia.

Sad

Gortex & Felix
Thanquol
I would love to see a series of these based on the Mass Effect crew, specifically Javik(?) the Prothean from the last cycle.
Martian Manhunter with an attitude...he was pretty interesting.
Urdnot Wrex is possibly the most interesting Krogan in the galaxy.
@@martytu20 that would also be really cool
@@martytu20 I would say the smartest and wisest and than best krogan. You know being the best of the stupid is not really a great honor

Thane, Anderson and Samara felt like mentors to me, playing the first 2 ME games. In the third… well, I'm not ashamed to admit I shed man-tears.
Let's continue the trend and include the Cerberus Organization or even the Illusive man himself
This was...satisfying, and god damn Kai Leng & Cerberus to hell!
Damn, I love this game.
Well, you at least get a chance to damn Kai Leng to death in THE most satisfying moment of ME3.

Easily one of the top 5 characters from the Mass Effect universe.
So basically space John wick...though he did come from before the movie...wait, does that mean John wick is just human thane Krios!? JKJK
I REALLY need to play Mass Effect sometime...
Yes. Yes you do.
Yep you do
It's pretty fun.
Yes, you do.
I play it whenever I feel like having my emotions and heart ripped out, and stomped on...

Thanks for mentioning finding love again with Shepherd.

Irony of life
Shepard: you are praying for them?
Thane: no, for me.
Thane was a badass. This trilogy is incredible.
I love it when they make videos about mass effect lore.
Thank you for this video.
Dossier ideas off the top of my head (in no particular order): Kratos, Thel 'Vadam, Gandalf, Luke Skywalker, Piccolo, Samus Aran, John Hammond
Thank you very much, I always like Thane as ME2 member.
I like how they include the multiple ways he could die or end up dead because of the different choices people can make in the games
He spent his final moments praying for your forgiveness. RIP Thane
That very start of the video almost made me cry
And now you got me to play ME1-3 again, thx.
I would always go visit him in the hospital. I felt like I should because he was a great friend and comrade.
My personal fav character from the series
I have a philosophy that states that your body is simply an extension of your mind. A vessel for it.

Romancing thane leads to one of the best. And most heartbreaking stories for shepherd in my opinion.
Good one, you ought to do one of all the heroes and villains of this series. One my most favorite sci-fi franchises
If you decide to do another Mass Effect Dossier, I think Liara T'Soni would be perfect!
My friend, He shall be remembered.
Thane is one of the reasons I decided to play two saves, one as Male Shep and one as Fem Shep. Romance or not, his story is rather touching.
How about a Dossier for Rand Al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn?
What's the background scene at 4:37 from? Where Thane is fighting all those mercs. I can't seem to find it
I would love to see more M.E. Dossiers.
Rest in peace, our deariest friend

More of these!
Amazing! Do Zaeed next!
I love this story. I played this game numerous times making different decisions And different endings.
Could you do a dossier on Paul Atriedies? (or Muad'dib)
Gabriel Belmont from Castevania Lords of Shadow 1 and 2 would be excellent for a future episode. 😊
Kala'hira, may you guide this soul to better shores.
And now I am crying again like a small child...
One of my favourite ME characters.
Thane is, by far, the most unique character I meet in Mass Effect.
At the end of the video you said "asari councilor" instead of "salarian councilor"
Made me chuckle
Former Gunnery Sergeant, now Spartan-IV Edward Buck from the Halo series?
