I like this Handheld. I'm shocked at how well this Handheld can play Conker's Bad Fur Day with the Standalone Emulator. Seriously try it you'll be surprised.
i bought a 128 gb XU10 for 47. Works perfectly, able to play GTA Vice City, PVZ, and many more interesting games. So far, theres no crashing but bit of glitching but very very few. If ur new to handheld consoles, ill recommend buying this.
Joey you’re spot on with this review, so much so that I recommend this video for anyone who has picked up the XU10 or thinking about it. A lot had to be fixed out of the box including re-flashing the OS….and I bought 2….it was the same for both 🙄. Other than that it is surprisingly very comfortable. Something about the weight and the way the rear buttons curve around the fingers. I’d only recommend this console to tinkerers tho due to the broken software
The only problem, is the firmware options, ok, but it is really well optimized, it could be a lot better if we were free to change things by default, but, by the other hand, they did a good job optimizing and preconfiguring things, not the best, but good. Talking about the hardware, it is similar to the R36S, but better, slighter better/faster chip, better/faster RAM, and better buttons, triggers and pad... a little worse screen (but good anyway), lower volume through the speaker (but better speaker), and smaller battery. And the price is similar too; R36S can be found, some times around 33€, and the XU10, around 37€, 4/5€ more, but better quality, and a LOT BETTER D-PAD, "usable" with some games where the R36S one is really poor and anoying... Not only usable, really good in fact (if somebody like "vs fighting games", and try the 2 d-pads, they will underestand, immediately, what I mean), it could be better with a longer pivot center (for some shooters for example), but it is REALLY GOOD... as said before, buttons are better, triggers are better, internal contruction is better, etc. I have and like the 2 of them, but the XU10 is simply better as the cheapest recomendable "retro handheld"... if you compare it with more expensive machines, there is no point, or if you pay it at the price of the web you show in the video, they are stoling your wallet... it is cheaper, you have to buy it at the right moment, of course (and the right place), because you know how this works, cheap machines, when they start to being sold... more... stores increase the price 🤌💰💸🤑 (sometimes, A LOT), right now it is more expensive (the R36S too, but not that much). For somebody who don't wanna touch anything, and just wanna play, it is a better option and better preconfigured. For somebody who is gonna thouch a lot, it doesn't matter, he/she is gonna update the SO or change it for another one... and Rocknix is a very good option for the XU10 (and for the R36S), if you wanna change the SO. The problems you say about emulation (with N64 for example), happens with the R33S, R35S, R36S, the RG351 (all versions), Odroid Go Super/Advance and Powkiddy RGB10, for example... so... And the button configuration is not "a mess", it is fine to use A (the bottom button) to accept, and the B (the right one) to cancel, for anybody who use, or like a XBox, or Playstation setup, is the logical way to do it... it is just, that you are not used to it. My Retroarch in my PC, my Playnite, etc (and most of the PC games, in fact, Playstation1, PS2, PS3, PS4/5,, XBox, are configured that way... 🤣you are the problem, not the machine... of course, in fact, talking about videogames machines, XBox, use that configuration, Playstation too, computers/PC, too, etc, etc... only the Switch use the right one to accept and the bottom button to cancel. Maybe you don't know this, but "your layout" is the "japanese way", the "occidental way", is the XBox layout, in fact, most PlayStation 2 games (for example) use X to accept, and circle ( the right button) to cancel in "all over the world" versions of (as said before) most of PS2 games, while the Japanese version of the same game use Circle to accept, and X to cancel (they "asian way" to do that) 😂 ------------------------------------ JoeysRetroHandhelds... Trying to be smart? still far away from it... It can play DreamCast (same layout), PlayStation Portable with the same layout, PlayStation 1 with the same layout, NeoGeo original controller (not the stick)... with similar layout: A (accept) bottom, B right, C left, and D top, ... Only the SNES have the exact same layout "what you want" in a diamont layout with accept at the right corner of the diamond. The problem, anyway, it is not "what can it emulate", the problem is your lack of cognitive skills to change your mind if you have a controller or another in your hands. The N64 have the accept button at the bottom, and the cancel button at the left, the GameCube is (more or less) the same, and a with a similar layout than a PS/XBox/DreamCast layout, but with B and X inverted, with the A (action/accept) button more or less in the center, but below the Y button, MegaDrive/Genesis and Saturn have a complete different layout, in some games you accept with one button and cancel with others, and in other games, it is another "combination"... If you have a problem with all of them, then you must have sausages instead of fingers, or maybe it is hard for your brain to handle that incredible amount of information (2 buttons). It must be imposible for you to play some MegaDrive/Genesis 3 buttons (in line) games with a 4 button (in diamond) controller ... or a Saturn / MegaDrive /Genesis / 6 buttons arcade with a controller with four front "diamond" buttons (needing to use the shoulders/triggers for the other 2 buttons)... or even to play a 4 "in line" button NeoGeo stick with a different layout (diamond)... And what if you think about the NeoGeo Controller while you play a NeoGeo game?... As said before... A bottom, B right, C left, D top... And, what about the "NeoGeo Mini" controller (A at the left, B bottom, C top, D right... does your brain explode? it is, the main problem is with shooter if you are the kind of person who press the d-pad in the center... it can be "upgraded", but you would need to open the machine and "increase" the "center pivot" of the d-pad

I was able to get this for $35 and for that and mostly wanting to play some old SNES and GBA games it is fine. a fun way to play some JRPG games on the go. I would say for $35 it is a fair price, but for more and I agree. I do want to try to change the firmware that you posted, but I wait until I finish the game I started. Don't need to potentially lose 17 hours gameplay for a new menu lol.
I have been trying to connect an external display to a XU10 through the OTG port, but haven't had any luck. Anyone had a better experience trying this?

hello joey - can i ask you a sort of unrelated question to your video - im new to retro gaming so youtubers like yourself are a godsend - i tried cloning my 64gb micro sd card to a 128gb sd card using windisk manager to create extra space on a branded sd card - everything went great untill i realised the 128gb sd card has now reduced to 64gb is there a way to keep the data and regain the lost space - thanks joey
I have one of these cause I got it on sale for 50 bucks and I honestly wish it had onion os or better firmware cause it's honestly not that bad for what I paid for it. Ergonomically it's nice. It's just the firmware that's trash imo. I think you got a dud cause mine didn't have any of those issues unfortunately.

Take d pad, buttons, analogs, good display and at price of r35/36 U aggro on everything that's is not open source oc, that's wrong approach. I also watch many other reviews on retro theme and handheld and they agree with me
Literally the second time you've said this and no it's not. Terrible D-Pad, Worse Face Buttons, No R2 and L2, One subpar Analog Stick, and it can't play N64 or Dreamcast games nearly as well as this device can. 😕

This can't play Xbox or PS2 games though, so the right layout is the Japanese way yes lol
My only complaint with this Handheld is the D-Pad isn't that good for Action Side-Scrollers like the Megaman Zero series.

Sounds like you have a corrupted SD card. It's pretty common with these kinds of handhelds that use these cheap, non branded SD cards.

You'll have to use minitool partition wizard to extend the partition.
